Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Patch Cafe is a family friendly location with a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items and a cabinet full of sweet treats. When you arrive at Patch, just know there is limited parking. The cafe has a tiny parking lot in the back of the restaurant. You enter the cafe and wait to be seated. Reservations are needed at this popular destination. In the back of the cafe is a small play area for young kids. The restaurant is extremely loud which impacts table conversations. We had a party of six. We were promptly attended to and checked on often. We ordered eggs Benedict, French toast and the salmon bowl and strawberry smoothie. The poached eggs on each main were cooked perfectly. The one coffee drinker at the table was quite happy with her soy latte. Lots of choices in the cabinet; mainly sweet, decadent treats. Very good food, good service, but loud restaurant with limited parking. But not many places in Auckland have such a family friendly vibe as Patch. Enjoy!

A true favourite for breakfast or just a coffee and sweet treat. Their counter food is mind blowing and that's even before you get to the menu. My husband and sister-in-law chose the french toast for breakfast, on recommendation. And it didn't disappoint. The dish presented looking like art on a plate. Not cloyingly sweet with plenty of fruit, he said it made it a lighter more enjoyable version of many other french toast dishes he's had before. Lee the Barista makes a memorable and excellent coffee. Well worth booking a table so you don't miss out. Service staff are excellent. Parking available at the rear.

This place is truly unique. The cabinet is a delight, even though I haven't sampled the sweet selection, I'm sure that those with a sweet tooth will be drooling. Savoury cabinet or menu food is excellent and service vey friendly and efficient. Factors stop it getting a five star review. We have had to go elsewhere several times as there is a lack of parking - a real problem in wet weather. There is some parking about 100m away in Porana Rd. The largest coffee isn't really large enough, - though it can be supplemented with a side of extra milk and water. When cabinet food contains a thick slab of meat, such as belly pork, ideally the meat should be properly heated and if served just warm on the outside and cold in the middle, somewhat off-putting. On the positive side, the eggs benedict (gooey eggs) is served on a hefty potato rosti and for an extra cost, you can order slab bacon rather than a rasher. Excellent . Watching the other dishes coming out, they are very colourful and look very appetising and presentation is just superb.

Perfection The service, food and coffee cannot be beaten anywhere. The Wise Green was tasty and ingenious, the beef melt divine, the oogey scrumptious. Coffee hot. Cafe spotless. Staff could not do enough for us. All ingredients quality. Free range ingredients the reason we visited this cafe. We eat out regularly and will be back very soon. Thank you for being the best cafe we have patronised the length and breadth of NZ.

An awesome cafe on the shore serving exotic dishes - a variety of excellent food bursting with flavour. The service is warm and friendly. We will definitely go back. We were served by Asmita - she’s super friendly, efficient and such an asset to the place!

Our table was outside which was a bit annoying when the shower came in, because they put the large glass door down & then it heated up like a glasshouse…. Probably could have just waited for the shower to pass….. It looked like the tables up the back had a bit more room & wouldn’t have been quite so noisey… Dogs apparently are allowed which became a little annoying after a while (constant barking)… The food however was fabulous, even if we did struggle to get it all on the little table…. The Ooey Gooey Eggs Bene was delicious, but I wish they’d had a half option, like other cafes are now doing - it was a bit too big for me…. The boys however were thrilled at the size of the servings!! My husband would have preferred the Mushrooms on the toast instead of in a skillet beside the toast, but it looked generous all the same. We would probably avoid coming again on the weekend and try for Friday or Monday…. The cakes in their cabinet looked good too……you’d hope they would be for $9.50 a slice…. Not many cafes have enticing menus, but this one was very good. Highly recommend, but get a table inside and at the back…..

You wouldn’t expect to find a place like this in this rather soulless area on Sunnybrae Rd. Parking available out the back and 3 in the front but is a bit challenging at busy times but worth the inconvenience when you get there! The cabinet food is magnificent and mouth-watering, as is the menu. Really good coffee and friendly service. Gets very crowded though.....

We were welcomed so warmly by Asmita who remembered us as visitors from out of town. She quickly found us a table even though the restaurant was full of happy patrons. The food was as usual delicious and the coffee was good too. Danika took good care of us making our visit to Patch another memorable one!

Beautiful cafe, the staff are really amazing and accommodating with your order. They had a good variety of cabinet food, the iced chocolates were so good. I would recommend, the parking situation was a bit annoying we had to park down by cracker jack but still worth it.

Very impressive cafe situated in a non descript light industrial location. Our family had visited previously and we had chosen for our 2year old grandson. We visited in level 2 so the child's playground closed. Very popular on a Sunday. Great selection on the menu.I had a crispy chicken burger on a brioche bun. Served with fries and aioli. Big selection of cakes slices etc in cabinet. Got a takeaway ginger crunch. Seemed a very slick operation though our green smoothie was missed. Coffee good.Small carpark at rear or park on street. To be recommended.

Just had the most amazing coffee and cake with the family this morning. Service was second to none. After just having surgery on my hand we popped in for coffee. We were met by Jackie and Savita (sorry not 100% sure I got this right). Savita even offered to cut my muffin for me. We were blown away by the service. Thank you so much for a great experience. We will be back. Vanessa

A friend suggested Patch having driven past it a few times. Right in the middle of the industrial area of Glenfield, Patch is spitting distance from VTNZ so a good place to fo whilst you wait for your car WOF. Service was friendly and efficient and meals came out very promptly.

The friendliest service I have had at a cafe ever. The food was also of a high standard. The only small draw back is that it is hard to get a car park. However, the team well and truely make up for that.
