On a whim we decided to go out for a meal on a recent Monday night . I rang to book in the afternoon however the phone appeared to be heading to a message service so I hung up without leaving a message . A...little later I received a call back (impressive) asking how they could assist ....Booking made. Monday night downtown Papakura should be quiet right....not so as we witnessed many people turned away ..So Book in advance !! The wait team on were down to earth and very helpful . We shared a platter which was extremely visually and taste appealing and followed up with a small main that we sharedMore

Don’t order the octopus !!! It arrived nicely presented BUT was disgustingly chewy and tasted as though it had been frozen prior to cooking!!! We let our wait staff know, they checked with the kitchen and assured us it was fresh - NOT convinced on...that!!! Thought the tofu could have taken on more flavours as it was very bland. Platters are always amazing and they do a creme brûlée to die for. Good to see this place full.More

High level of food produced, mostly sharing style. Went with family and we tried almost all of the starters, they were all super well balanced dishes. So nice to be able to eat somewhere producing such amazing food in the middle of Papakura!

Once again Izu excelled - last night dinner after lockdown has to be one of the most delicious meals of the decade. The aubergine was out of this world, teriyaki was delicious as was the lamb, the pork and all the deserts. Great job Izu...- always terrific. We will be back again and againMore

We ordered the Sashimi Platter and were positive surprised by the freshness and quality of the fish and the presentation. To further our luck we then ordered the seaweed salad and the salmon rolls. Again everything was top fresh and very thoughtfully prepared and served....The only distraction was the noisy "elevator" music.More

We travelled to Izu from out of town based on great feedback that I had from friends, and it well and truely was worth the visit The food was amazing. The 'tapa' style dishes were perfectly proportioned for our group of 4 and the combination...of flavours, and unique dishes was great. The service was prompt and attentive, and the price was extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food and drink we ordered. Would highly recommend.More

The service is excellent, the drinks menu comprehensive. There is no negative here.My only complaint is that it took us so long to find it,our...new go to.More

We dined at Izu for the third time. Each time the food has been delicious. But last night and our second visit it was very noisy - we couldn't hear each other at our table of three. Some floor matting would reduce to noise levels.
