Having traveled to Iran eating out most times, this place took us right back there. Even in Iran this food would be among the best. It was no surprise at all hearing that the chef was doing this back in Tehran. Despite being a small...place, the decor (particularly outside) is simply remarkable for a truly 'Persian experience' right down to the smallest detail. The owners run the place with husband the chef in the kitchen. If you want a truly authentic Persian food experience here it is. The kebabs were succulently moist with the curious flavours having you trying to guess the spices. The Lamb shanks were served with braising sauce seperate - this amazing precious nectar was fitting to be served in its own copper dish. Spooning this carefully over the rice you really felt like you had to treat this sauce with the utmost respect by eating it slowly and thoughtfully savouring the flavours. We ordered a variety from entrees to selection of kebabs and stew. The Persians are famous for their rice, and here it was again in all its glory- perfectly cooked with the golden saffron strands on top like a crown. This place, the food is simply extraordinary! Everytime we come back to Auckland we will be there - and brag to all our friends. Delightful!More

I went there to have dinner . They served a really yummy mix kebab that has three types of meat (chicken, lamb, and beef kebab), long grain saffron rice, and fresh vegetable salad on the side. The meats were so tender and juicy. The rice...alone were delicious. I will go back there again to experience the traditional Iranian dishes and atmosphere. I already recommended this place to my friendsMore

We decided to have a lunch at this restaurant and we were impressed. We ordered Koobide (2 skeweres of persian minced shish) and Jooje (two skewers of chicken fillet) and Yogurt Drink. The dishes were very delicious and the drink was so fresh and yummy....The sizes of the dishes were large and we were completely full. The staffs were also very friendly.More

Had the most appalling excuse for a toasted sandwich imaginable. Two very small slices of bread, chunks of onion, slice of processed cheese and slab of tomato which we had to wait well over half an hour for. I would have been embarrassed to serve...that up to anyone! When I queried how long does it take to make a toasted sandwich I was told well they are quite busy. Doing what I do not know as the only other group in the place had finished their meal when we arrived and left while we were still waiting. Two ladies came in and ordered frappe drinks which were made and served up pretty quickly while we still waited. I expressed my displeasure and the man I spoke to couldn’t have cared less. I guess when management takes this attitude the only thing you can do is not go back again and inform others of your experience. Such a shame because there seems to be a lot of choice for lunch in Devonport, clearly we made the wrong choice.More

We've come here for morning tea several times - love the indoor gated play area with toys, it keeps my busy toddler completely entertained while we ate! Nice treat after visiting Devonport's new playground. Yummy scones and coffee. Friendly service. Beautiful brick walls and waterfall....Looking forward to coming back and trying their other food.More

Found this little gem tucked away within the Devonport arcade. Their baklava is amazingin! Crispy, sweet, and with a perfect balance of flavors. I think this just might be the best baklava I’ve ever had. Baklava is a personal favorite of mine. Something about the...combination of honey, nuts, and crispy filo is just so satisfying. The perfect little treat to grab before a walk around Devonport’s beautiful harbor. The owner’s wife makes a fresh tray every morning in small batches, so you know it’s made with love. Not only that, but she’s been perfecting this recipe for 8 years! Highly recommend this place, both the food and the service was lovely, and the prices were great. If you’re looking for a larger meal, their calamari is delicious, and a bargain at $10.More
