what a perfect place to be on a grey wet winter Thursday lunchtime! Staff were very welcoming and the pub was busy with diners. We chose from the two course set menu. For something different we had the vegan mushroom chilli and it was marvellous. Full of flavour and crunchy vegetables..The white chocolate cheesecake was equally delicious and all for ÂŁ12 each. We sat opposite the wood burner in the cosy main bar. Highly recommend

Having visited Malmesbury we decided to find somewhere for lunch & arrived at the inn just as they were opening for lunch. Really warm welcome & we were offerred a nice spot in the snug. Menu was not the standard pub fare & along with the special board included some tasty meals. The seafood croquettes with safron aioli we ordered as a starter to share - so tasty. My husband decided to order the beef dish off the specials board & were more than happy to wait until it was available - well worth the wait. My rattlebone burger was delicious. Everything prepared with such care & service was spot on.

Lovely old pub. We were visiting Tetbury staying at the hare and hounds and wanted to pop out to a local pub - loved the Rattlebone Inn - the assistant manager, Stacey, was helpful and sweet and allowed us to have something to eat although they were fully booked.
All the staff were friendly and the food was delicious
I rather enjoyed the fact that this pub was one of Prince Harry’s old haunts, as it’s close to Highgrove, and was once asked to leave because he had one too many!

This used to be our pub of choice & we ate here very regularly. However, back in May we had a very poor experience with both food & service & have stayed away since. Now in December, decided it was time to return. Arrived around 1pm, stood at the bar for a good 10 minutes during which I was totally ignored by the bar maid who did everything except make eye contact, not even a simple “I’ll be with you in a moment” She vanished & eventually another member of staff arrived to tell us there was a 1.5 hour wait for food. I can understand the last bit, but there is absolutely no excuse for being ignored. Perhaps the food is back up to standard, but we will never know because we won’t be returning.

We have eaten here three times whilst staying in Sherston village over this half term. All three meals were absolutely excellent: the Sunday lunch was perfect and tonight we sampled the fish and chip evening. I can honestly say that this was one of the best British classics that I have tasted in a long time - everything was delivered to absolute perfection! The quality of the food is outstanding: all 6 members of our party thoroughly enjoyed all of their meals. It was way above what we would have expected from a standard village pub. We also enjoyed the quiz night on Monday evenings. Please keep up the good work - a great community asset to a stunning Wiltshire village. Thank you very much!

What can I say...
Amazing in every way. Very controlled table seating and ordering to maintain consistency in table service.
Starter sharer was great and our roast main was just the best.
I had 3 different meats, ( beef, pork, chicken) and complete with stuffing, pork crackling and Yorkshire pud. All for ÂŁ14.95.
Plenty of veg to accompany the meal and all in all great value for money.
Great village Inn, good food, great service and well worth a visit.

The pub itself is spacious and welcoming and the roast beef was beautifully presented and tasted fabulous.
Deliciously crispy roast potatoes, tasty vegetables and cheesy leaks with a generous Yorkshire pudding.
The gravy was amazing.
Friendly and welcoming.
Highly recommended!
Rob, Bristol.

We had a lovely meal at the Rattlebone over the weekend and can see why it comes highly recommended. Mark was very helpful with our booking beforehand as we were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday. We had a chef dining with us and he was impressed with the cod! We also enjoyed a drink in the outside area, which was very pleasant. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere and in the very peaceful village of Sherston.

We ate at the Rattlebone Inn twice. The food was quite good and perfectly satisfactory for a pub environment. The young staff on the bar and serving the food were very courteous and efficient. Unfortunately on our second visit we were greeted by a lady who we could only presume was the landlady. She was brusque to the point of rudeness. Although we were in the area for a few more days we chose not to eat there again.

Hi, I'm so sorry you felt that, I assure you our assistant manager would not have meant anything rude by the way she spoke to you we were just very busy and had lots going on but that is still no excuse for you to feel the way you did and I can only apologize.

My partner and I had a lovely meal on a Saturday night - my pork belly with colcannon was delicious and a good portion size; my partner's hake with mashed potato was very good, although we did also order a side order of french fries. The pint of Butcome was exceptionally well kept and my glass of white wine was very good. There was a good atmosphere. We would definitely recommend it and would visit again.

Booked table for my husband’s birthday. Arrived 10 minutes early and after being taken to our table, we never got seen - even for a drink - for 20 minutes!!! After the waitress eventually came to our table, we were told there will be some time to get the food, we just walked out. Would not recommend!!!!

I went here with a group of U3A friends for lunch. We had a very good meal, everyone was pleased with their lunch. The service was great and the price reasonable. I was, however, a bit surprised when my pie and veg was served without gravy although to give them credit they did find a small jug of gravy leftover from Sunday lunch. Not sure if they would had it been later in the week. The real shock came with the bill. I don’t normally buy a drink as I don’t believe in drink driving. This time I decided to treat myself to a lemonade and lime. After the price I was charged (£6.10) I doubt I will treat myself again, I will just stick to water in future as a glass of wine would probably have been cheaper. I might have expected the price had I had a Bacardi in it.

It’s not been great weather for al fresco dining, but the Rattlebone has created an extremely cosy al fresco eating/drinking environment. With a great canopy and heaters you can control for your own area (or make friends with the next table to press your button!!!!) - following the distancing guidelines obviously......it was comfortable even with rain and thunder. We’ve been a couple of times this week- not ventured inside, but attentive staff made sure we weren’t forgotten. Well done. We’ll be back.

There was simply no ambiance in what should be a lovely olde world pub. My friend and I were given a table in an empty barn annex type room with several large tables. We were the only guests in that room despite it being Saturday evening. This remined the case throughout what was an average, lukewarm, meal albeit well served. We were so disappointed that we left after our main course. As we left it was clear that despite there being, as we were told a lot of "no shoes", several guests in the main pub area. No attempt was made to reseat us in that area despite our complaints about our location etc. Will not be retruning

Visited to celebrate a house move (not ours) and birthday - service was lacking - ended up going to the bar 3 times ourselves to get drinks. Our meal took 3 hours so clearly didn’t need our table for anyone else. food unremarkable - chicken skewers had no taste of the garlic/lemon promise of the menu. Highlight was the Camembert chilli chutnies and the marshfield ice cream and chocolate brownies
