The gardens continue down to the Lang River, where a steep set of stairs wind down the cliff side. The rooms are varied, from cheap to 5 star. I like the restaurant, which is called Seven Elephants Cafe. Joy and Aom speak excellent English, and...the staff are very friendly. A large menu of Thai and European food. Even a wine list, which is unusual for Thailand. Drop in for a meal and enjoy the gardens.More

As the number 1 rated restaurant in this area rated by Tripadvisor I had to visit here and it is well worth the rating. A good variety of choices on the menu ranging from Thai to Myanmar and European food. Everyone was well satisfied and...the small restaurant has a nice atmosphere and surprisingly Europeanized! The food was not quick in coming however it was all served together for 4 people which was nice for a change. Very reasonable pricing and good service but not chatty which would have been a nice touch. The sign outside says “The Java Hut” which is very misleading and it is tucked away, however if you look for “The Soppong River Inn” that is where it is. Recommended.More

Good food, nice restaurant, good service, good prices. There no much choice in Soppong to eat but this place is definitely the best. Warm welcome, good service, the dishes arrived all at the same time. The banana shake is really good and according to my...husband the laab mou is one of the best he ever had. And the prices are really good. I totally recommend that you stop by this place while on the road.More

Awesome service by sweet staff and amazing food, both Thai and western. Good drinks. Great breakfast!! Reasonable prices for the far north! Everything we ate in 3.5 days of staying there was absolutely delicious.

Found this Restaurant on trip advisor while visiting soppong and the tham lod cave. Had some wonderful shan dishes here eg. Chin loong soup /snacks. The first thing that came to mind was freshness. I would not say the food here were authentically thai, as...my guide who joined us told me the dishes had some adapations. Nonetheless, the dishes were delicious. The decor of this little restaurant was nice and the ambience was cosy with soothing classical music.More

If trying to find seven elephants - it is part of Soppong River Inn on the main road. Recently ate hear with my wife & was generally impressed all round. The service was friendly & the food we had was great too - especially considering...Soppong is a long way from decent supermarkets etc. I tried the Chicken & Fries with colslaw - big portion & fresh food - also thought it was very fair value.at 150b My wife had Lap Guy ( which is minced chicken ) Esaarn dish - again big potion of fresh food served with rice - 110b with rice again great value & all fresh ingrediants. wood recommend to anyone looking for decent value food with good service in the Soppong area.More

We stayed at the Soppong River Inn for two nights and ended up eating here both nights for dinner, as well as for breakfast. The service was always very friendly and all of the food we tried was absolutely delicious. We particularly recommend the food...options that are described as being from that region of Thailand – very unusual flavors and quite good. At breakfast, there were various set menu options for 130 baht, including both western-style food and local breakfast choices. All breakfasts came with fresh fruit and tea/coffee. We particularly appreciated the well-made, strong coffee.More

Our tour guide arranged a lunch stop. Very good thai food. It was very fresh and tasty. Even the kids who always complain about local food enjoyed the fried chicked and fried potatoes.

Sorry but we are located in Soppong, which is about 75 kms from Mae Hong Son city and Tonsai. We do not have current information about the longtail boats to Tonsai village.
