We drove through the Lewis pass and was looking for a place for lunch. The patrons dining on the pavement was a sure sign this was where to go. We chose something from the extensive range of baked goods on display plus some loaded wedges. Service was supreme and the quality of the food ten out of ten. Highly recommend.

Maybe the best eggs Benedict I ever had. Serving them on a potato cake instead of an increasingly soggy bun is genius. Also an extraordinary array of scones, cakes and sandwiches, all presented by extremely friendly and obliging staff. We got there at around 1030 on a Sunday morning and the place was heaving, which tells its own story.

I was very impressed by the vast range and scope of the food on offer- all fresh and looking delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient on day they were apologising for being short staffed. There is a lovely range of seating options indoors or outside in the pleasant garden. Well done and I am happy to recommend your business. I wanted to eat ALL of the cakes but did not. The sponge roll!

Looked very inviting as we entered on a cold rainy day. Ordered a couple of hot drinks a sandwich from the ready made display and a hot cross bun The drinks were delivered quite a while after we ordered and the food was mostly eaten. The hot chocolate was especially disappointing and the coffee was ok. The sandwich looked a lot better than it tasted and the hot cross bun was good but not good enough to buy a bag which had been the original intention- to try one before buying the six pack. Did enjoy checking out their impressive collection of salt and pepper shakers

Have always stopped at the Broadway as we pass through. This time we spent two nights in Reefton and decided to have breakfast there. Food selection was great but for a cooked breakfast to be served on cold plates it was a big disappointment. Five stars if they would take this on board and improve.

Wow! What a find! Such an enormous array of hot and cold food options and as for the home baking choices - didn’t know where to start! Lovely, friendly staff and a great. Atmosphere. Busy but not noisy - just cheerful. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Stopped in here on our way from Maruia to Greymouth. Fantastic coffee, HEAPS of delicious baked goods on offer in their cabinet. Breakfast menu was great and they were very happy to offer a vegan breakfast. (Even had some sweet vegan options in their cabinet!) Staff were lovely and the place itself has a really cool vibe. Highly recommend checking them out!

We've eaten here twice now, it is probably the only place in town with full cabinets and plenty of space for customers. The first time we ate there was no board menu because of staff shortage but there was more than enough in the cabinets to make up for it and a HUGE selection of sweets if you're into that. The coffee is delicious, all double shots and foot fantastic too! Call in here if you're staying or passing through!

Overnighted in Reefton and this was convenient for an early morning breakfast before we departed onward. Seemed a popular spot for a few passing through grabbing lunch (which looked like a good range) as well from what we saw. Food and coffee were good and prices reasonable.

Always worth a stop whenever staying or passing through Reefton. An ever changing cabinet of delicious in-house baked goodies, a decent coffee and the interiors are spacious enough to find a seat amongst the locals and travellers. Well deserving of 5 stars. Thanks Ronnie and the team, we will be back again soon.

Good range of cabinet food. Pizza bun was a bit dry but slices very tasty. Long queues [lots of visitors in town]. Friendly service but needed a competent operator on such a busy day.

We stopped here for a smoko break on a very cold blustery day. The heater was roaring & the service was great. Plenty of tables & friendly staff. Also very clean toilets. He had a delicious cappuccino with a sausage roll that he enjoyed immensely. I had a green tea & a gluten free slice with chocolate chips sprinkled on. I was totally amazed at the selection of different gluten free items. Why can’t larger city establishments cater for gluten free without all the masses of chocolate. We also bought a gluten free afghan to share for the road & it was delicious, maybe a bit much icing though. A delightful place to stop.

Driving from Greymouth to Murchison on a rainy afternoon we turned off the Highway at Reefton to look for afternoon tea. We soon picked out Broadway as worth a visit. A sign told us that they have been serving the community for 100 years in the lovely old building so they must be doing something right. The very pleasant staff soon had our welcome tea and cakes on the table and all were delicious. We bought a pack of shortbread to take with us and sampled it that evening and immediately wished we had bought a lot more- it was absolutley perfect.

Ordered two black coffees, both so over extracted and burnt, even adding sugar didn't help, had to tip them out. Next time we will try somewhere else on our drive to the coast.. and service was a little weird at the till, I think the lady needs more training and people skills.

We six older persons gathered at The Broadway as a central point - we came from three different places of origin, many kilometres away. Not our first visit, & as busy as it was, inside & out, we managed to find an outside table, which made for great viewing of the world going by, while eating our sandwiches & cakes - just the right kind of food for the occasion. The Broadway is the kind of place every town should have, but mostly doesn't - simple food for travellers, done well.
