This is a really special place with beautiful gardens and a magnificent enormous and ancient fig tree towering above:) There were two set menus available - one with fish and meat and another vegan one. The food was really delicious and healthy as well. The service was friendly, welcoming and professional. Go for a walk around the grounds between courses. It's BYO.

The location is fabulous and the food was good. But one aspect really spoiled an otherwise happy family wedding for me. I don’t usually write reviews but future brides and grooms should be warned. We provided the wedding cake which by arrangement was to be served as dessert. It was a double layered chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream in the middle and pale pink white chocolate ganache on the top. But all they served was the bottom layer cut into rectangular pieces, some with a bit of chocolate buttercream on it, some without, and they had put 3 dots of whipped cream on top. There was no sign of the pink ganache or the top layer of cake. For context, the cake baker was the Grooms mother, a (very good) home cook. She spent months choosing and perfecting the cake and the 2 different types of icing. She must have bought kilos of chocolate that went into all the different cakes! On the night before the wedding, she pulled an all-nighter only finishing the icing (on the 3 cakes) at 5.30am before making the 3-hr drive to the wedding. When I asked the kitchen staff why hadn’t they served the whole cake, I was told that someone else had cut up the cake and they would find out what had happened but I wasn’t given an answer or an apology. All the effort that went in those cakes and they didn’t even serve the whole cake! Future brides and grooms, consider specifically asking the staff to serve pieces of your WHOLE cake or you might only get to taste a tiny part of it like we did.

Delicious meal but we were put next to a speaker that was belching out Rolling Stones for entire meal. I asked them to please turn it down without effect. It was great food and if you can enjoy that while listening to Jagger sing about “splatter on the dirty rug” then this is your place.

Pros: - immaculate grounds - brilliant service by staff - STUNNING location - fantastic food for a wedding! - great bar service Cons: - wait between food at cocktail hour One of the most stunning and sophisticated weddings I have ever been to. Attention to detail is unreal, food was not that horrid mass produced wedding style you usually get. Hats off to the chef. Most amazing grounds and separate areas to move around to. I feel very privileged to have experienced this venue.

We went to the first Fig Tree Tasting Event for 2021 last Sunday.Fig Tree Restaurant was rebuilt over 2020 after a fire in early 2020.The new building has retained the charm and vibe of the old restaurant. All credit to Che Devlin and his team. The gardens look fantastic especially after all the recent rains. As usual fantastic food served at a communal table. We really liked the Ballina Prawns in betel leaf and the salt bush lamb.Excellent service and the event was well curated by Kate.A first class dining experience.

A wonderful venue for a wedding. Ceremony held under the ancient fig tree. Drinks and canapés by the pool, sit down mains then room cleared for dancing. Staff were very attentive and worked all night to provide great food and drinks. Food was plentiful. Byron light house can be seen from the gardens. Courtesy bus picks guests up and takes them back.

Oh my goodness. These guys catered a wedding I went to recently. Without a doubt the best food I've ever been served at a wedding, and possibly the best food I've had at any place in Australia. Cannot recommend these people highly enough. The food was fabulous with excellent vegan/vegetarian options. The catering staff just lovely. And the professionalism beyond all expectations. I'm so sad I live in a different state and won't have the opportunity to dine at their restaurant.

twice bitten - thrice = never again!!! after all the pomp & arrogance that is associated with this place and the great reviews we have read prior to our first try, we were expecting to get our hair blown back!!!! - we have had 2 very average food experiences...Instead of the chefs coming to the tables to chat, please just stay in the kitchen and keep and eye on the flavourless overcooked stuff you have served up to us twice!!... In comparison to a couple of other less arrogant and pompous fine dining establishments we love in the area, this is WELL BELOW EXPECTATION = Buyer beware.....just sayin! PS...can somebody tell the maître d to take the hat off !!???

We stayed at The Sunrise House on location at the Fig Tree for two nights for a wedding. The accomodation was gorgeous - an updated 70s California style open plan ranch style home with all of the design trimmings. The food at the fig tree restaurant was just as equally gorgeous. I really appreciated the special care the staff took of me with my dietary needs. Loved it and look forward to coming back.

Perched on top of rise in Ewingsdale on the outskirts of Bryan Bay is this amazing restaurant. It mainly caters for weddings but occasionally it hosts degustation evenings. The food for the evening is sourced from their own garden and from local suppliers. From the moment you arrive you a felt welcomed. The service is attentive and unpretentious. The chef introduces himself at your table, a clear sign that they are proud of what is about to come. The food is spectacular - labour intensive, fresh, thoughtful and plentiful. I cannot speak more highly of this place. We loved it. Highly recommend it. The challenge will be getting a booking!

A stunning venue for a wonderful wedding. But just be aware that the restaurant can only fit 60 people comfortably for a sit down dinner. The food and service is outstanding.

This meal ticket all the right boxes for us: 1. The 7 course degustation was fantastic with an interesting and thoughtfully designer menu using their locally grown and sourced produce 2. The staff was friendly and professional from the lady who greeted us in the driveway to the chef and wait staff 3. The location was easily accessible by 10min Uber ride from Byron, on beautiful grounds that you are encouraged to explore with your free champagne 4. The most stunning views over the farmland toward the lighthouse and sea beyond 5. The degustation is $120 per person including a glass of bubbles, corkage and of course byo wine keeps it very affordable and accessible to all!
