We made a stop at the only open cafe on the way from The Anau to Queenstown on Saturday morning. Good coffee, the restroom is top notch.

Cafe/bar with a pleasant atmosphere. We loved their pendant lights and the chips were up there with the best ever!
Good coffee but the only place in the world where we’ve been charged extra for each shot of hot water and then extra again for take away! Espresso $3.40, long black $4.00, Americano $4.40 and then takeaway extra $0.40! Staff not able to explain why...More
This is actually simple. Espresso $3.40, long black $4.00, Americano $4.40 - because they are all different sizes, isn't it obvious? and this practice is completely common and normal everywhere here. Did you order one of each to compare so you could actually see the...More
Stopped for coffee on route to Queenstown. Small portions of cakes in comparison to over coffee shops in NZ. House speciality, honey cake, pre sliced, was dry and not very exciting. Coffee was not very good. Nice terrace, but with the view of someone's back...More
Be aware - you won't eat here because of temperature or care with the furniture ... Menues are not well posted, tables could use a varnish and service could be improved. However the food was good. We had the salad and the chowder. Don't bother...More
Wouldn't go back again - next time would keep going instead of stopping. Only one option for a gluten free lunch. Very slow service despite only a third of the tables being occupied, the very simple meal arrived without everything that had been ordered, and...More

We stopped here for a quick takeaway lunch late in December- they had chips in premade boxes which I didn't have very high hopes for, as well as some homemade pies. Pies were OK but holy crap, those chips were ambrosial! We continued down to...More
Stopped for lunch and had the chowder and a big breakfast. Both were fine. The service was great. The day we turned up the place was full. We were lucky to get a seat. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.
We stopped for lunch and asked for seafood chowder which was excellent! Loads of seafood, very hearty with good two pieces of bread. The cafe has a relaxed vibe, was not loud even when it was busy, the staff was friendly and you also get...More
I pulled over famished, having not stopped in Queenstown for food after my flight from Wellington. This is all homemade, so I had to wait longer than I wanted to, but the food was delicious. If you're not in a rush, stop and enjoy the...More
