We were taken back by this place buried in the small town of Oxford, the food was amazing we chose from the all day breakfast. The staff we lovely and the decor amazing it felt like you were in a totally different place.
We showed up on a busy Sunday without at booking & the staff happily accomodated us - really cool place to visit & the food came out quickly & was really tasty - kids loved it !
First tried here out of curiosity. Massively impressed. Every time we've been back the food and Customer Service standards haven't changed. Faultless. Great value generous portions designed to satisfy hunger and taste great rather than be photographed. They've perfectly captured what they were trying to...achieve. Round trip for us of just on two hours and about 160 Km. Worth every minute of time and the fuel costs. Thoroughly recommend.More
Great novelty value and very cool decorations and decor. Unfortunately not sure that the food lives up to the vibe the location promises. Not bad but not great!
Recommend booking as it was quite busy. Super cute atmosphere, 50s themed American diner. Loved the servers were in costume and there was even a jukebox. The food is amazing as was the serving size. Even the booth seating us way more comfortable than most...in christchurch - very bouncy.. Not a lot of room, but definitely recommend it if making a trip to Oxford. Loved it.More
Whenever I visited my mum who was 90 years old on this visit( I live in Tasmania now) we would spend the whole time on the road. Sometimes for a couple of hours or 5 and others overnight down south (Wanaka, Te Anau, etc. One...of the quick drives we went through Oxford. Apparently we have early family there. Not sure but I think it was the Knowles. We needed some lunch so parked as close as I could to a cafe. Mum loved as her father and her husband had mid 30's? Fleetmasters and 3 of her 4 son's have owned Chevs. it when we walked in the door. We had a lovely lunch. When the 'waiter' came over he moved the laminated menu that mum had put in front of her as a placemat. The gentleman kindly moved the menu to the side so I had to mention that why she had it ther. He smiled and left it in place. When I went to pay the bill I was told that it had been taken care of. I glanced around and saw this silver haired gentleman (the waiter and obviously the owner) smiling. Wasn't a huge bill but just showed what kind of service and kindness from this Diner.More
Its ok with amazing decor , this in its self makes it worth going to but the food was pretty average and felt like it was "slapped up" nothing really wrong with food just a bit lacking in presentation. We still enjoyed our visit .
Called in there for lunch today. Spotlessly clean throughout. Staff professional yet friendly too. Excellent food and reasonably priced.. Had one of the best thick shakes that I had ever had. Very glad that we happened upon this Diner.
Managed to get a table without booking on a Sunday lunch, others not so fortunate, space outside didn't seem to be used. Ok service from themed staff, good milkshakes, with Malt !!!, not sure if the mains were fresh cooked or frozen but it was...not terrible. Not expensive so not complaining.More

Hi Rodney C,
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review - Sundays are very busy so we do recommend booking.
Our outdoor area is very much limited to weather so is not always in use. All our meals are cooked fresh to order...More
