Great spot to stretch and let the kids run around on the grassy area, or have a swim in the Estuary. Plenty of parking for camper vans and/or caravans. Not set up to take large tour groups yet, but watch this space for more details on that soon... Only 1km off state highway 1. New owners George & Lena Allen took over the premises in April and look forward to seeing you soon...

$7 chips for a hungry family of 4 was quite a few too many, so you do get plenty of food for your money, but the chips were not very crisp and tasty. The fish (hoki) was huge, so one fillet was enough for a person. Hot dogs good too.

We ordered two pizzas, side of fries, two sundaes and drinks from this takeaway shop over the new year holiday period as well as an order of chips.
The order was mixed up (they had mixed up the large and small pizza order) but after waiting a long time for the order and a very hungry daughter we just ate the pizzas as they were.
The prices were also very high and serving sizes quite small.
We wont be back

The staff were friendly and helpful. The menu board was clear to read, as was the 'Indian' menu leaflet. The was delivered promptly and was delicious.

We visited estury takeways in jan and I was not happy with the food and this time with the recommendation of my friends I gave it a shot and the food was above my expectations. It was friday night and lots of people was waiting for their orders.i guess popular among locals.Ordered 2 burgers and fish and chips, chips was cryspy and and fish was well cooked and most important it was fresh as told by the young man.
Now I will come back again on my way to auckland.

First time trying pizza from this shop and it was very yummy and the chips was also very good , overall value for money meal.

Every time i visit this place and they never disappoint me little bit expensive but value for money meal.
Pizza are also very good, i like their crispy chips and big portions of fish.

It has to be the worst meal i have had in a long time. Over priced fish for the tiny fillet. Most meals were well over cooked and none were enjoyed out of 5 of us eating.

Absolutley the worst fish and chips I have ever had in my life. I never usually give negative reviews but I am so angry that I wasted money on this place I feel I have to warn others. They advertise their fish as freshly caught. Well it smelled and tasted like it was caught over a week ago. On top of that it was so overcooked that the batter was rock hard and fish was as dry as a bone. I had to spit it out and even the seagulls wouldn’t go near it. I still feel sick today just thinking about it. We also got a pizza that was so overloaded with cheap nasty toppings. They clearly have never seen or tasted what a tradition pizza is. I will never go near this place again. Simply disgusting.

We brought dinner here tonight, we spent $80 and it is the worst fish and chips I have ever had. All of the food tasted burnt none of us ate all our meal. The burger patties were so rubbery and thin and the burger cost $10. Absolutely disgusting save your self the disappointment and go to bream bay takeaways by fresh choice.

Placed an order for takeaway fish and chips for our family, told us on the phone they only had one type of fish which would have been fine, but when we got there to pick it up after 25 minutes we were told they could only provide half the fish we had ordered as they had run out and they had also run out of chips, it was only 6.45pm on a warm summer evening when we ordered so this seemed strange and very unorganised. We then had to order somewhere else. Also would not recommend having seen the shop.

My family and I get take out from here often. (It's usually our one night a week treat) and although I agree with the some of the reviews saying they are a little higher priced then most takeaways this places service is great! The best in the area, they are always kind and talkative. Also the food is worth the money! Always cooked perfectly and the portions are great for our family. Well done 😊

Terrible terrible service do not by fish chips or burgers from this takeaway. If you want a patty in your burger you must ask for one. $3.00 chips is minimal and they are so slow.

We were staying at Ruakaka motor camp.... couldnt be bothered cooking, so got pizza chips and burger from here, made a phone order, it was ready on time, pizza delicious especially the smoked chicken one, prices ok, and better still at low tide you can walk over the estuary to the shop rather than going the long way round.
