We came here to try their fish and chips while passing through to the beach. Fish was fresh and juicy. Chips were good. Friendly service. No seafood basket option but apart from that, quality of food was good and price was very reasonable. Takeaway only....Very popular with locals. We'll be back!More

We had fish and chips here on Saturday night and were very disappointed. Very greasy and tasteless Hoki fish. We should have eaten at the hotel or the Angling Club. We know what good fish and chips are and what we bought on Saturday night...was a long way from this. Steer clear of this place; there are better places to eat in Kawhia.More

Does anyone know what time the shop opens. I am heading out to Kawhia and am unsure of what time the shop opens.

Came for takeaway lunch to eat by the Barbour on a beautiful day. Took a while to come but was good when it came. Loved the wire sending orders to the kitchen

Best scallops ever - ordered 2, got 4 and at the same price as the oysters which they had run out of. Fat, juicy amazing. Sat on the seawall, looking out at the harbour and the fishing boats. Worth a million dollars.

After high expectations, considering Kawhia is a fishing village we were very disappointed. The Gurnard fillet was tiny and overcooked at $6.50 and the four Hoki fillets were all batter and a slither of actual fish. Oh, the battered oysters were half a bite size...if that. Over priced and the worst Fish and Chip shop so far on our holiday. Never againMore

If you are here go there for fish and chips - lovely - nothing more to say really. Nice short walk from our campsite, friendly area, great views and very relaxing

This was a very good fish and chip shop. They also did drinks and ice cream. Every time we went in there it was always busy. Gave plenty of chips.
