This is the third and definitely NOT the last time i visit this wonderful, friendly restaurant. The service is efficient, on the nose and friendly. The food is beautiful. Seasoned to perfection, inventive, outstandingly presented, full of flavour, twists and turns. You can definitely see...the influence from experience at top end restaurants. Having visited a mitchlin restaurant only the day before, i would say it was on a par, if not better. Hats off to you all, keep it up as ill be back. Such a pleasureMore

First visit, booked a table for 8 people for evening meal, chose the a'la carte menu. I had the scallops to start which I thought for the price would of consisted of more than 3 small scallops, I then chose the lobster for main course...which for £32 was vastly overpriced, my wife had the risotto and again was very disappointed. The best course of the evening was the lemon dessert which was wonderful, all of my guests had the same opinion, the duck main course had the best reviews, the restaurant decor and professionalism of staff is not in question, we chose this restaurant because of the menu offered but came away a little disconcerted. Personally I do not think we would return.More

First visit, booked after reading a review and it did not disappoint. Wonderful meal fresh local scallops and crayfish cooked in an imaginative way. Attentive service, who were knowledgeable about the food and the menu. Fantastic local cheeseboard. Looking forward to visiting again

We were very disappointed as we asked to be seated in the main restaurant for a special meal with friends and was told that would be ok when booking When we arrived we were seated in the conservatory as the main restaurant was full This...was not acceptable for the hundreds of pounds we spent on the meal and will not be returningMore

We all had perfectly cooked meals. Not a complaint to be heard. The desserts were also excellent and very good value. Not somewhere we would go every week but when we want something a bit special we know where to come.

I was reliant on previous reviews when selecting a venue for meal in this area unfamiliar to me. My wife and I were surprised and impressed by the whole occasion from booking experience right down to paying the bill. Leaving aside the high quality of...the service - the quality of the food proved to be as good as it gets.More

Visited here while away celebrating my husband’s birthday. What a superb place, fantastic service, felt very COVID safe and most of all excellent food. We chose the tasting menu and wine flight. All were excellent and portion sizes bigger than expected from our experience of...other tasting menus. All staff were very attentive but in the fantastic subtle manner so not in your face. Each wine explained and why it had been matched. An absolute wonderful evening, thank you!More

We took friends here to celebrate both our 50th wedding anniversaries. We chose the Salutation Inn because it had an interesting menu and very good reviews. My wife and I both had the trout gravlax which was tasty but minute measuring about 5cms x 3...cms. We both then had the "Exminster lamb rump, braised shoulder, rosemary gnocchi, ratatouille, burnt aubergine puree, lamb jus". The shoulder was excellent and just fell apart as it was so tender. The lamb rump however was fatty and gristly. I think I had one good slice and none of my wife's pieces were good. This really should not happen in a good restaurant and it let the whole experience down. The place itself is lovely and the service was prompt and attentive -More

We went for our 38th wedding anniversary and we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and they had even put an anniversary card on our table, a really nice touch. The food was absolutely outstanding and I cannot recommend enough the...whole experience of eating here, you will not be disappointed.More

We had two different main meals from Luke's Larder last night. My seafood risotto was packed full of delicious fresh fish and my partner's pork cheeks were beautifully cooked. We were not completely convinced by the crumble but the sticky toffee pudding was excellent. Unfortunately...due to a flat tyre we were delayed in picking up the meals but we really appreciated the flexibility of the team. Overall, we would definitely recommend the takeaway offering. We can't wait to try out the restaurant in person when it reopens.More
