Too good to be true. Check out my photos and you will see. It’s a must visit restaurant there. The scenery, the wine pairing, the staff, the food and the service. It’s a dream come true.

The best meal I’ve ever had since moving to NZ. The staff are super experienced and friendly. The setting is awesome and the wine is out of this world

We have stayed in the Craggy Range cottages and dined in the restaurant many times previously. We are pleased to say the restaurant meals lived up to past experience. The slow cooked shoulder of lamb was divine. Great wait staff too.

This was one of the better dinning experiences I have had. Four of us had the tasting menu with matching wines. I would highly recommend this.

This is our favourite restaurant in the Bay. The food is delicious, the wine is first rate and the service is fantastic. From the moment you arrive you feel special and cared for. This is a must visit restaurant but be sure to book as...it is incredibly popular.More

I cannot praise this restaurant enough. Friendly, professional and efficient staff. Served promptly, our waitress explained the different meal options, served us promptly. The food was excellent, beautifully arranged, portions were just right. We had a wonderful time and have already planned our next special...Ladies Lunch. Recommend this to anyone wanting the extra special meal. Thanks to all - Front of House, and Kitchen.More

It's a dramatic and evocative place. Lovely open fires, vaulted ceilings, but some aspects just don't gel. The staff were friendly and attentive. But the combination of low light levels and fine print in the menus made it difficult. Only their own wines on the...list but then they are a winery. The real issue was the food. Quite an interesting prix fixe menu but: "You all have to have it" One of us does not eat lamb. No, she would have to have the lamb. "Makes it too hard for the chef if different people on the table order separately" There was a lack of clarity in many of the dishes, too embellished, too many themes. Using lobster bisque as a sauce but then difficult to eat soup with a knife and fork. The chicken was good. Sparkling water by the jug. The crispy skin fish was nice. Didn't need all the sauces, yams and extras. The pork belly was luke warm as were the seasonal vegetables, and the salad! "Have one of these garlic roast potatoes," said Anne. "They're really good when they're hot!" Loads and loads and loads of splendid wine glasses, every grape a new glass! but then a bloody solid coffee cup for my tea. I just thought it lacked panache and restraint. Overall a pleasant evening. Prices reasonable. Service prompt and charming. Not quite the chateau yet. Not sure I'll be in a rush to go back.More

It was perfection from start to finish. The food, service and ambience really sets this restaurant apart from the rest. The venison tartare was devine and my main course of lamb rack was cooked to perfection. The others loved their food as well. The only...disappointment was the kids menu. Fish and chips or a carb heavy mac & cheese and chips. No vegetables or salad. I was expecting more.More

I've been eating out travelling around NZ daily for three weeks and this is the best so far and rates well with the best in the world that I have eaten at. There is great care in the planning, preparation and presentation of the food....The restaurant takes pride in sourcing locally. The service was friendly and efficient and the ambience pleasant. The estate wines that we had by the glass were first rate.More
