Chan’s Chop house is a non pretentious, tasty and hospitable restaurant, delivering affordable and Delicious food. We had the Edamame,dumplings,wontons,calamari,fried chicken, chicken skin and two of the curries. The waitress took her time to explain the menu and to ensure that we were all happy. I felt very welcomed and taken care of . This restaurant is obviously providing more than just a service but true hospitality. Well done

Treated to a mind bending tastebud extravaganza!! Crazy to think you could find food this good in rural New Zealand. I want to say the highlight was the super crispy pork, although the wife would say the eggplant was pièce de résistance - so eggplant it is (happy wife happy life). That being said every dish was tasty and left me wanting more! Poached tamarillo with house dark chocolate gelato was mind blowing. Massaman was mint. Salmon ceviche was gold. Honestly I think we had everything in the menu!! Cocktails were good, but stopped at two as needed room for food. Best advice I can give is to go with a group and order everything. So, so good.

Asian fusion tapas bar. Good range on offer from the menu. Perfect sized items for a sharing menu. Food was light, tasty and well presented. Highly recommended.

The foods okay, but expensive for what it is.
The atmosphere is good, but the service is very poor. They need to get that right to meet the expectations of their pricing.

Called for a meal in the evening. Greeted on entry by a nice young lady who looked after us well during our stay. Happy and cheerful service. Good range of food from a smallish menu, and a decent range of drinks as well. The place is small and fairly basic - not fine-dining - but the food is good and comes in good time. Our server was happy to discuss and recommend. Enjoyed the food which was South East Asian (one dish was maybe a touch too fiery for me but I do love a spicy dish and was happy to keep at it -a cold beer helped the burn!). Overall a pleasant experience made better by the food and the excellent server. Definitely worth a stop for a quick meal
