Nestled in the heart of Havelock North, Deliciosa is the perfect place to come together. We offer a casual environment for drinks, sharing plates, a la carte dining plus have unique spaces to gather your favourite people and celebrate that special occasion. First time here and I will definitely return. The food was fabulous and the staff friendly. Some feedback for owners, we had a table of 6 and were all interested in ordering dessert but we were never asked, despite sitting at the table a long time after our plates were cleared. I know we could of gone out of our way to attract a waiter but even in the best of times you don’t want over a $100 of desserts walk out without having a crack at them. Because of the wait we just talked ourselves out of buying what we didn’t actually need anyway lol. Our interaction with our waitress was great though, she was lovely and helpful.

Very tasty food helpful staff good wins and a buzzy atmosphere without being too noisy all added up to a very pleasant evening and we will be back for sure . one of the best restaurants we have found in the area . Recommended.

I would absolutely go back for more !

Really tasty food. Go for three sharing plates if there is 2 of you. The dishes ww had were the Wagu beef, the Aubergine, the carrot and the cauliflower and it was too much. But sooooo good! Check the website for prices but we had 2 mocktails and 1 tin of beer and it was NZ$100 which personally was well worth it.

This was my third time eating here and the quality has deteriorated. The wagyu beef was tuff. We had a Mille feuille which was soggy brandy snap biscuits with a weak topping which tasted like instant choc pudding. There were a few small pieces of mango and some coconut chips on the side.... yuck . A very disappointing dessert. The wine list was very nice and the staff were lovely.

A Touch of Class

We chanced upon this restaurant and thank goodness we did. Situated in the centre of the town you enter through a red curtain into a warm terrace covered in a grape vine and enclosed . The wooden tables are candlelit and the staff attentive but not pushy. The menu is full of fresh food based on Tapas and larger sharing plates. We chose a warm lamb salad, Arancini and a delicious green veg plate. Every dish was beautifully presented and perfectly cooked. Three plates was plenty and we have very good appetites! I highly recommend this restaurant which also has a great wine list !

Having made a reservation we were looking forward to our family meal at Deliciosa. The place was reasonably busy when we arrived and we waited a few minutes before being asked by the lady at the bar if she could help us. When I told her we had a reservation she didn’t say anything- just led us to the very back of the restaurant and gestured to a table next to the kitchen hatch. No words spoken but she slammed a bottle of water, some menus and some side plates down in front of us. No glasses. She then walked away. After a minute she walked past us to the kitchen and said very loudly that she couldn’t understand why everyone wanted to eat out tonight after a long weekend. Hardly very welcoming to the diners. Where we were seated was very loud as we had the restaurant music competing with the kitchen’s loud Indian music. We waited another five or ten minutes without anyone approaching us for service. At this point we made an excuse to another and left. What a shame as we had enjoyed a lovely meal here as a couple last summer and had been hoping for the same experience.

An average meal spoiled by oil soaked pork belly

We booked Deliciosa after a recommendation from a local as well as our accommodation host. I must say I was a little underwhelmed after the hype. OK, it was a (very) wet Monday night but still, there’s no reason for the standards to drop. We ordered the spicy string fries, green salad, salt & pepper squid and pork belly. The fries were great and the salad was fine. I found the squid just OK. I’ve eaten a lot of s&p squid and this didn’t stand out at all. I felt it lacked anything special and the accompanying sauces were very basic. The real letdown though was the pork belly. I am not a cook but I am sure that you don’t crisp up pork belly by deep frying it! The crackling was drenched in oil to the point where I simply separated it from the pork meat and left it on the plate. Very disappointing plate of food for such a highly regarded restaurant.

Great food, outstanding service staff

We arrived with fingers crossed but no reservation on a busy Saturday evening. The wonderful staff found us a table with a deadline, and taking our preferences into account recommended food and wine matches. Everything was spot on .. the small shared plates style food was devoured. Pork belly chunks were a highlight but everything was just so tasty. We enjoyed it all enthusiastically and the wine matches worked beautifully. Sorry I don't know the staff names but they were brilliant in looking after us, being interested in our wine choices.. and we were out in time for them to clear and re-set for the next customers. A good result all round .. relaxed but not casual about great food and service.

Tasty GF and DF vegan and vegetarian food served by friendly helpful staff

The staff at this cafe made our night great. We had travelled a long way in the wind and the dark and were tired. We didnt have a booking however the lovely staff cheerfully fitted my young adult daughter and me in at the bar to eat. There was an extensive GF / DF / vegan / vegetarian selection which meant we were able to choose what we ate rather than having to settle on one option. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food tasted absolutely delicious and my daughter and I both agreed we made a really good decision to dine at this restauarant. Highly recommend to all!

We called in for a late dinner

We called in for a late dinner last night. Got a seat due to a cancellation so best to book in the weekend. The service was friendly and prompt. The food was all delicious. We ordered a plate in error (read it as beef salad instead of beet salad). Yes dumb I know. They did not charge us for that which was kind.

Bang bang flavour.

An enjoyable dinner enjoyed by all as tapas gives everyone a taste of something they like! Try the bang bang cauliflower, salt and pepper squid or the artichoke dip. Staff were every engaging. Treat yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

SImply Delicious!

Deliciosa Restaurant was our choice for our first night visiting the Hawke's Bay region. We chose a wide variety of small plates which proved to be a great feast! Service was excellent and the ambience was good. Best that you book a table in advance to avoid disappointment.

All round excellent

Have visited twice in the last week, both times all round excellent. Pork belly and bang bang cauliflower were the showstoppers for us. Perfect swift service even when busy, def our new go to …. In a time where a lot of eateries are over priced and serve low quality dishes. Def worth a visit, won’t disappoint.

One of our best meals

The food is right up there with some of the best we have had, hats off to the Deliciosa team We had four dishes, olives (so good!) bang bang cauliflower, pacific prawns and tuna su miso with everyone being so delicious, now want to try all dishes on their menu. Highly recommend Deliciosa, in addition to amazing food the setting and staff service was excellent. You must go if in Havelock North!

Delicious

The name matches the taste. We got a few plates to share and the food was really nice! One of the salads was quite cold which was a bit odd but otherwise loved it. The staff were also lovely, will definitely go back when I'm next in Havelock north
