We ordered a 50 piece platter and two hand rolls for take out to try this place for the first time. The flavours were very good, fish was fresh and tasty. We enjoyed the sushi, Maki, and handrolls. Our primary source of disappointment was the lack of variety. Of 50 pieces, most were 6 or 8 of the same thing, so we only got to try 6 or 7 different rolls and pieces, and there was a lot of repetition. We were hoping to try the sushi out and see if we'd go back, but didn't feel like we got much of a sense of the overall offerings, and that was a turn off. Parking was also an issue - there are parking lots in the area, but they were all on "special event" pricing that day (and lots of days, I'd imagine, as there are lots of events in that area), so they all had flat rates of $25 or more, regardless of the fact we were just popping in to pick up our order so would only be 10 minutes or so. Some sort of arrangement for customers would be a nice touch. I'm not saying don't go. Just know in advance if ordering a platter, I guess.

The two of us had the Winterlicious menu: sushi (x2), beef shank and foie gras, baked sablefish & lobster ravioli, pear ginger sorbet (x2). Overall everything was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. Even the beef and foie gras were extra good. A 4.5 out of 5 if judged against other top Japanese venues. We also had the regular sake pairing as well as the premium sake pairing. If you quite enjoy sake I recommend spending the extra $12-$15 or so to get the premium - all 3 in the premium flight were excellent! Our second time to Miku, and both times we've been very satisfied.

We did a preset lunch menu for 15 people and everything was really good. We had oysters, scallops and sashimi to start. I got the sablefish as my main and it was really moist and fresh tasting. Our third course was aburi sushi, we were so full but it was so good I finished that too. We ended with green tea opera desert which was beautiful and delicious. It was a really impressive meal and the staff was excellent - very knowledgeable, each course was brought out quickly and cleared right away when done. Would def come back again soon!

I came here for my birthday awhile back and knew exactly what I wanted from the menu as I always check it beforehand. I had a great time with my partner, and the waiter was even nice enough to always somehow alter each order (ex. ordered a sushi plate and he added a special one on the side because he said he felt we'd like it). This was great until I got the bill and realized every single 'addition' he gave us was actually extra charge. Our bill was much larger than anticipated, therefore we didn't have much left for tip and he seemed disappointed with the tip he was left with. Food is good, however I haven't returned since because of this experience. Pretty sure it's illegal to not have informed me of these extra charges he added for me without asking beforehand.

Very average and overly complicates the food and presentation. We were having a business dinner and the wait staff constantly interrupted with long, overdrawn descriptions of the food delivered. It’s a restaurant that takes it’s too seriously instead of letting the food take center stage.

i live in midtown Rosedale and they don't deliver here. boohoo. Food was so amazing. We had sushi rolls, bento box, salmon sushi and even had the sushi kit delivered to our home for the teens to make. Covid has been a long haul and although they didn't do a great job, they had a blast. Can you guys open in midtown? Not sure when i am going downtown again. or maybe i might have to.

Wrote a letter to the Manager. Did not have the decency to write back. this was my experience. Dear Sir: My husband and I attended your restaurant for my 60th birthday last evening.I must say it was a grave disappointment. First we were told there was a private party coming in so we would only have an hour to eat. After driving 2.5 hours to eat sushi in Toronto, this was incredibly disappointing. Perhaps we should have left at that time, however, we decided to stay since we had travelled. For a restaurant reported to be “one of the best in the area”, it was rather austere with no ambiance or authenticy. Our waitress was less than engaging and value for dollar was lacking. My husband ordered the Sashimi “selection”. To receive a plate with 6 thin pieces of fish for 30.00 is outrageous. I ordered the Miku Signature Sushi selection which while tasty, was not worth the 38.00 dollars for 10 ordinary pieces of sushi. Not to mention the reaction I had later, as there must have been MSG in the food or sauce. For a grand total of $85.00 ( including two green teas), this was the most disappointing sushi experience we have ever had and I assure you we have travelled extensively. We had to eat elsewhere afterwards to feel that we had had a decent meal. Regardless of any excuse that may be offered, surely you can agree that your patrons should be able to expect a more substantial meal and better overall experience. I hope you will accept this critique as a means to make future improvements for your customers. Regards,

From a self-proclaimed foodie perspective, every dish exceeds expectations. The novelty tastes, sights and smells of fusion cuisine.Sashimi plate was my fave.As a personal preference, still leaning towards traditional taste of sashimi, but wow, presentation was beautiful.Toro was deliciously fresh.Scallops were a treat. As for the rest of the food that came after, the 5-course experience, sushi, and desserts, our server described all the details of each dish when served. This really helps with understanding and appreciation of the complexity of the dishes.Plates were changed after every single course of meal(Server had suggested we can share 2 to 3 small plates per person).I have not seen this impressive level of service for a long time. Patio dining really took away a lot from the experience. At times we could hardly hear the server or each other because of the loud traffic right beside us.The receptionist said she was not able to accommodate indoor dining because it was full. With their demonstrated level of creativity in the food, maybe they can find solutions to improve their patio dining experience for their customers.

The worst food I've had in a long time and that's not exaggerating. We dine at Japanese restaurants a lot in the city and love sushi, so we decided to try the Kaiseki meal at Miku. This was an insult to the concept of Kaiseki and the whole idea is fresh, seasonal ingredients. There was zero freshness in these ingredients. The sauces, seafood and accompaniments were completely off-putting to the point where we couldn't wait to get home to brush our teeth. The sauces were overpowering in their flavour and clumpy like you could tell they've been sitting under heat lamps too long. The fish was "fishy" and not in a good way, and the seasoning of everything was rancid. Forget talking about cohesion of the dishes or creativity, this was low-quality ingredients prepared terribly and the restaurant charges you hundreds of dollars for this "food". If you're about to say "maybe that was just the Kaiseki menu and you would've done better with the sushi", the meal had a sushi course and that's where I simply stopped eating because I was worried about getting sick. The ONLY good thing about this place was the service. Our waitress was very friendly and service was very swift, because everything was clearly pre-made ahead of time and that's why none of it was fresh. A waste of money and a disgrace to Japanese cuisine.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Miku. We shared Sushi and Sashimi lunches as well as a Miku roll. All the fish was fresh and tender and they introduced us to a new "sweeter" type of soy sauce. Presentation was excellent and the service was very attentive. Will definitely return.

The food, especially sushi, is so fresh and well thought-out! My favourite is the A5 wagyu nigiri with truffle powder from the kaiseki, which overall features many ingredients that can only be purchased in Japan. The chefs and servers are so accommodating with dietary preferences. Not to mention the desserts! Incredible Euro-inspired creations with Japanese techniques. Must-try!

We visited Minami Restaurant in Vancouver and were super impressed by the food and service. So we booked Miku, the sister restaurant to Minami, in Toronto. We sat in the outside patio which was not too inviting but hoped the food and service would compensate on it. We ordered a a bottle of an amazing Saki recommended by our waitress (who was very good by the way). We then ordered the tasting menu to each one of us. The food was really mediocre except the sablefish and the desert. Very disappointing to all the four of us and will not recommend it.

After having read the great reviews on Trip Advisor, we were looking forward to an evening at Miku and we were not disappointed. We chose the miso soup, sashimi,, tuna and salmon sushi and the Fondant as dessert. The presentation was eye catching and the fish very fresh. The dessert was superb and the service attentive. The prices reflected the quality of the food. It is no wonder that this restaurant is highly rated and would gladly return if we had the chance.
