We discovered this little gem on our Labour Day visit to Niagara on the Lake. This little restaurant is located on Mary Street. We were looking for something different for dinner - and we definitely made a great discovery! The menu is impressive, as is the Wine List. We selected several Appetizers to enjoy - each one was delicious and filling. The server/owner noticed that we were interested in local wines, so let us sample a 2017 Red from Big Head Winery. Did we like it? The next day we drove to that winery to purchase some! As mentioned, the food here is outstanding, as are the service and atmosphere.

This is a reasonably priced, family-run Asian-fusion restaurant with a choice of good local wines and excellent service. It is also our top choice for dinner in NOTL. The food is consistently delicious and there is always something for everyone. We particularly like grilled calamari with mango salad, Kushiyaki Beef and Braised Korean Beef Short Ribs.

Rarely does even the best restaurant excel in every category : service, food, pricing and comfort. Ginger does. Our server Seth was professional, attentive and friendly. The lamb shank was lightly spiced, generous and superbly cooked. It came with a side ofvegetables and panko crusted mashed potatoes. My wife and I shared spring rolls which were also excellent and surprisingly light. She had the Thai curry coconut soup also excellent, Proces were very reasonable for this quality and generous portions. The room is carpeted and comfortable. I’m hard of hearing so I appreciated excellent accoustics even on a busy Friday night. We’ll be back.

We ate at The Prince of Wales Hotel, and the Pilar & Post, and this was our favourite meal hands down. We shared a salad, and my husband had the sesame chicken app, he loved it. He also had the curry bowl which was outstanding. I ordered the samosas, which were not a traditional samosa pastry, but were delicious, and flavourful. This is an amazing place to eat if you want a break from more standard meat and vegetable meals that seem to dominate the local hotel restaurants. The chef obviously knows what they are doing, as these perfectly spiced dishes were as amazingly plated as they tasted. Our waiter was also really nice, and helpful with drink recommendations. Of all the places we ate dinners, this is the one I would come back to again and again. Well done Ginger!! And thanks for our best meal in Niagara!!

I have been enjoying this Asian Fusion restaurant for years. Its consistency is what has impressed me most. The food is delicious and tastefully presented. And in a town where eating out is expensive, Ginger remains reasonably priced. It is a family run restaurant that takes pride in its fine food and service.

We came for dinner to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and were treated to a meal unlike any other in our recent memories. Fresh, flavorful food as we sampled our way through the menu. Attentive service from Seth & even a gracious visit from Chef Than.
The ginger & carrot soup was top notch! Layers of flavour, perfect balance & a silky texture made it melt in our mouths.
We finished our delightful experience with a smooth vanilla creme brulee. Brilliant!
We will be back!!!

The service was impeccable - gentle, informative and discreet. The atmosphere was quiet and elegant, without feeling stuffy. The menu is not huge, but everything was super tasty - great care is taken in the preparation and presentation. Asian fusion - best of both worlds. Highly recommended!

A last minute decision had me making an early (5:30) reservation at Ginger. Originally we were going to walk from our B&B, but thought better of that and drove. A very ample parking lot made driving to this small restaurant very easy. We were offered seats either inside the small dining room or outside on the side of the building under a pergola. We chose outside as there was a nice breeze and it was very comfortable. Only three tables.
The menu is not extensive, but very adequate. I ordered the crab cakes as a starter while my wife ordered the calamari mango salad. We were both pleased with our choices. For our entree I ordered the Thai chicken curry and my wife ordered the Japanese fish and chips. We both really enjoyed our meals.
This family run restaurant is on a busy road but is very accommodating. I would choose this restaurant again. Good food and service.

Had dinner here last night and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in ages. My husband and I shared crab cakes, spicy sesame chicken bites and the braised short rib and it was all fantastic. Lovely servers as well. Highly recommend and would go back again.

We had a wonderful night at Gingers. The service was amazing. Everyone was helpful and very kind. The sobo noodles were a nice way to start the meal. We also had the chicken wings, coconut curry, and the samosa dish all of which were delicious and would recommend! It was all around a lovely experience and we would certainly return.

My husband and I were treated by our family to the most amazing dinner from Ginger Restaurant. Specializing in Asian Fusion cuisine, talented Chef Thane and staff created a memorable 4 course meal for our anniversary celebration. We started with a delicious Soba Noodle Salad with scrumptious and perfectly grilled Shrimp. The next course was a marvelous Risotto topped with melt in your mouth Scallops. Course 3 was tasty Thai style Coconut Curry with chicken, veggies and a side of rice. Last but not least, we enjoyed a fall off the bone, moist and tender Braised Korean Short Rib with sides of green beans, roasted potatoes and some delicious pickled vegetables with double smoked bacon. Every course was perfectly prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavour in a well balanced combination. We truly enjoyed (and devoured) each and every bite!!

We had a nice walk through the leafy streets of Niagara on the Lake to get to the Ginger restaurant and enjoyed a well prepared 3 course meal where we shared a mix of lemon crab cakes, kushiyaki beef, a Thai chicken curry, traditional lamb shank, pineapple/mango pannecotta, with a few glasses of local red and white wines. A very good experience at an affordable price. Bumped into the chef on our way out the door and presently surprised to hear that he'd recently been on a visit to Scotland :-)

This restaurant is not in the centre of NOTL, but definitely worth the trip. We were staying at a B&B not far from here, so decided to take a chance. OMG, this was a WOW. They have, what looks like standard things on the menu (Trout, Lamb shank, etc.), but they have found a way to innovate these with spices and sauces that you would not expect. It will be a standard going forward. Two brothers seem to be running the place. One is the chef, and the other runs the front of the house. The service was spectacular, and keep in mind we went during COVID restrictions. Highly recommended.

I am gluten sensitive so Thai is a go to for me and never had a problem until I met Seth our waiter. From the start he wanted to argue with me instead of us feeling welcomed.
When I tried to ask if their soya sauce is gluten free, he rudely interrupted me and said no. When I asked " could the kitchen have it in the future he said " no, its too expensive. It is not. He then said that fish sauce has gluten when I wanted to order the Thai salad. It does not. I ended up with a piece of salmon with aioli sauce. Definitely not Thai.

We were met by Seth who was very welcoming. The starter was absolutely delicious along with my braised rib and my husband’s lamb shank. The vegetables were crisp, just right. This a small restaurant with just 8 to 10 tables with just four tables filled for most of the time we were there. So I don’t understand why my ice tea wasn’t refilled or why the owner talk to everyone but our table! Leaving me feeling a little ignored. This just took away from the ambience for me. With this said the meal is worth going for!
