Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I came from India and visited this cafe in downtown with my family. The staff is very helpful as I was pretty new to the menu as I never tried crepes before. The girl on the cashier was so sweet and she helped me to order. I am vegetarian and ordered customized option with cheese and mushroom. It was so good 😋. Their Nutella hot chocolate is delicious. I recommend this place to everyone.

Ah, Café Crepe! I was pleased to finally knock this place off my so-called “nostalgia tour.” A couple years ago – when I’d really ramped up the “nostalgia” bit – I didn’t think I’d get the chance to do so. You see, COVID hit and, a couple months after the pandemic was declared, GlobalBC (of all places) reported that Café Crepe on Robson was shuttering its doors after 21 years thanks, in large part, to the pandemic and subsequent health restrictions. “Well,” thought ol’ PookyCake, “I guess I won’t be visiting there.” Only . . . I was wrong because I’d never actually patronized the flagship Robson location. I’d only ever been to the “express” unit at 796 Granville which, as luck would have it, eventually re-opened once restrictions were eased! Thus, the stage was set for my eventual return. I made my way to Café Crepe following a quick shopping excursion at the adjacent BestBuy. Up until this point, I hadn’t stepped foot in this particular space since 2010, so it was kind of cool to be back here . . . especially since, to my eye, the place looked exactly the same: Narrow walkway/counter space to place your order, checkered floor, 2 booth-style seats, and about 5 small tables that could probably seat 2 people each. In short, the Granville Street location is a compact space; thus, it’s not uncommon to see it looking “busy” or “full” for that reason. Nevertheless, I certainly felt the nostalgia sitting here. To keep the nostalgia experience authentic, I ordered the exact same thing I had twelve years ago: A fresh strawberry & banana crepe ($10.50 w/ tax). In today’s world – where the cost of living continues to skyrocket – the price of the crepe is actually decent value and likely explains the fair number of takeout orders I observed. Indeed, the restaurant must sell a lot of crepes in order to keep the doors open in such a high rent area. Anyway, much like over a decade ago, the crepe looked nothing like the propaganda photos on Café Crepe’s website; however, it was of a decent size and tasted fine. The banana was fresh, but I’d question the “freshness” of the strawberries – they looked frozen to me. But then, we must look at this place in context: It is an “express” crepe place “offering a French inspired [. . .] café experience.” It is not high end. Looking at Café Crepe through this lens, it’s perfectly cromulent. FOOD: 3/5 SERVICE: 3/5 VALUE: 4/5 RECOMMENDATION: While I wouldn’t agree with Vancouver Foodster and declare this place home to “amazing crepes,” they’re fine for what you pay. Mild recommendation. PS: I assume COVID has taken a big bite out of Café Crepe. They used to have a few locations in Metro Vancouver, the States and overseas. As of this writing, there are only two locations left: This unit on Granville and one all the way over in Hong Kong (with another allegedly on the way). Sad! PPS: If you found this review helpful in any way please consider hitting the "helpful" button!

The crepe was fine but the service was awful. The lady preset a 20% tip for self service ?? And if you didn’t come pick up your order right away she started yelling in a rude tone. The place looked dirty.

We came for first time and check the menu on the screen. Then we were ready to order but the girl send us to look for a table (there were plenty) with a paper menu, and then we had to wait again in the line to place the order we already had ready when she didn't bother to listen. And then we waited for almost 30 minutes for the two crêpes. Coffe and crêpes were nice but not outstanding.

Located close to the shopping stores in Granville st, this small cafeteria can save your day. The crepes are really good and prices affordable.

We weren’t impressed with this place. It used to be really good specially when they opened up. Now you have to clean your own table as not enough staff, you grab your own food and quality is really low comparing to few years ago. Not sure what they have changed in their ingredients but it doesn’t taste fresh.

Hi Parisa, Thank you fro your feedback and for dining with us. I am sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your experience. Our key ingredients and procedures have remained the same to allow for the same standards in freshness. Our locations are quick service restaurants that focus on take out orders, so although we appreciate our guests cleaning up after themselves our staff are always on hand to help keep our rooms clean. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

We decided to get a crepe to go for dessert later in the evening. We got a pear cinnamon crepe. It would have been better if we had eaten it hot on the spot. However, it was still delicious later. The combo pear to cinnamon and crepe was so good. Cant wait to have another one.

We were here on Canada Day Sunday afternoon. The place was very busy but even so the service was very efficient. The crepes were freshly made and good quality. The service was welcoming and friendly and we would use the place again if back in town.

The Crepes were outstanding and the food fresh. The staff were very friendly and obliging. They were happy to allow you to share meals so you could try different crepes. Two of us found one savoury and one sweet crepe shared was an excellent lunch and not too expensive.

The place is a tad run down with some broken bench seats and just a bit of a tired decor. They service was alright, to eat I only had a side of tomatoes and smoked salmon and it was good, my friend had the crepes and said they were great and my boyfriend had the eggs Benedict that he said was also good. The menu was a bit lackluster with nothing too exciting. The manager was really nice he came around and made sure we were happy with everything we ordered. It’s definitely not a special occasion kind of place but nice for an easy sit down meal.

Hi Jordan, Thank you for stopping by and trying our food. We are sorry that you felt the atmosphere did not meet the standards of the food and service due to the room design. We are in the process of opening new locations with an updated look in the near future. We look forward to seeing you at our newest location at 574 Granville St. soon. thank you,
