Thanks to the wonderful staff at La Terrazzo for a fabulous Christmas Night Dinner for my small family of three. The total experience - booking from overseas months prior to arriving - the prompt communication, and then the dinner - divine! The service was genuinely warm and accomodating, the cocktails delicious, and despite my reservations about a set menu the options were extensive and had something to suit us all and were beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. Thank you very much for making our "White Christmas" dinner truly special night.

Excellent restaurant in my favourite Banff hotel. The Banff Park Lodge is perfectly located close to downtown, yet far enough away from the main drag to be quiet. I love the easy access to the Bow River Trail for morning walks. We chose La Terrazza for our dinner on the first night of our stay. Formerly The Terrace, it has been rebranded with an Italian flare and it didn’t disappoint. I had the Chicken Parmigiana and my son had the Roselline. Pasta is made in house, and everything was fresh, well presented and delicious. The salmon that went to the next table also looked fabulous. The service was as always outstanding. The restaurant has a quiet upscale atmosphere not widely available in Banff. It offers casual elegance and great food at a reasonable price. The adjacent lounge is a comfortable place to meet friends and has an interesting cocktail menu as well. Can’t wait to go back.

Food was outstanding. I ordered Bruschetta for starters, the ingredients were so fresh and delicate. The risotto was perfectly cooked with a huge depth of flavour. Even the vanilla ice cream at the end was so creamy and delicious! I’m surprised that La Terrazza is only listed as number 16 of the top restaurants in Banff. Our server Ludivine was so friendly and attentive. She was quite knowledgeable about the menu and explained the sourcing of ingredients, her recommendations etc. We never had to ask for water, everything was offered, drinks automatically filled, without being intrusive. I hope more people discover this restaurant as it is a little bit hidden to those that aren’t staying in the Banff Park Lodge. I felt the price was very reasonable for the standard of food given. Thank you for an amazing meal!

We stayed at this hotel the hotel itself was very nice ! The waitress was also very nice ! The food on the other hand was so bad we almost didn’t make it back to our rooms without bringing what little of it that we did try back up . We ordered the salmon because people. Beside had some and it looked really good and we were on the road a long time and we needed a nice hot meal I figured well it’s a fancy restaurant their not going to mess up a salad and fish I would of thought that’s hard to do ! I was wrong my sons salmon was ice cold and definitely raw all of our salads were not crispy they obviously had it sitting to long , they did not charge my son for his meal and the cook bought his bear but personally I think with a nice place like that they could’ve done more none of us are except our granddaughter and she got a cheeseburger so will I go back ? No will I recommend it No

This is the 3rd time we have eaten here over the last 3 years. The first time was due to a TravelZoo coupon we had, otherwise we would not have thought to have a fine dining experience there, given the many options in Banff where we have dined. We had eaten at the excellent brunch buffets at the hotel that were always superb, but we were surprised to have such excellent food and service. The other 2 times, including this most recent one were also with TravelZoo hotel deals. Again, same excellent food and service. This time our server was on a work permit from Viet Nam and she could not have done a better job. Very impressed. To top it off she brought a special birthday dessert when she found out there was a birthday that day and offered to take picture, as well. Of course having a TravelZoo discount coupon for both the meal and wine makes it all better. But even without it, I would eat here again. Although pasta is a speciality and is excellent, last year I had picÄ·eral fish which was to die for. Calamari is excellent too.

Hostess was somewhat standoffish. Waitress was helpful and attentive. Food was very slow coming out with long gaps between courses. Lobster risotto was okay - large pieces of lobster and something that resembled risotto. Overall with so many fine restaurants in Banff I would not return.

As part of a deal, we had a two for one breakfast (take-out) at this restaurants. We called in our order and picked it up ten minutes later. Breakfast is prepared at the Banff Park Lodge, a sister property of the Bow View Lodge. My wife and I both had the Crave breakfast, which was very good and plentiful. We had scrambled/sunny-side up eggs, thin bacon and sausage, the smashed potatoes (pleasant surprise), tons of toast with butter, jam, peanut butter. Some very good coffee complemented the breakfast experience. Good quality and plentiful. Even with covid, take-out was a breeze. Did not find salt and pepper in our paper delivery bag, which could have made the food even more palatable. You do not go away hungry after this breakfast. Recommended.

A great experience! Rik was very attentive without being intrusive. His knowledge about the dishes on the menu was outstanding. All the serving staff kept on eye on the table, filled water glasses and helped serve food quickly and efficiently. All the dishes for our party of four arrived hot and beautifully presented. One appetizer was ordered. The appetizer was not rushed by the arrival of the main courses. The timing of all the courses was perfect. The salmon was cooked to medium (chef recomended) and was moist and flakey, The Lamb Rack was requested to be cooked between medium rare and medium and arrived cooked to to perfection. The chicken in the Chicken Parmesan was very moist and tender accompanied by homemade pasta cooked to al dente. The vegan gnocchi was homemade and very tasty. The only two suggestion to a perfect dining experience would be to reduce the amount of gnocchi in this dish and increase the amount of vegetables, and include another vegetarian/vegan dish for more choice. The berry Sorbetto included fresh raspberries, was amazing and the perfect portion after an outstanding meal.
All in all I highly recommend this dining experience!

For fine dining in Banff, La Terraza is hard to beat. Banff is truly blessed with amazing restuarants and we have probably only tried half. La Terraza has an extensive wine listing with selections from around the world including a few excellent VQAs. We stuck to the house white and house red which are avaiable in 5oz (150 mL) and 9oz (266 mL). I would rather leave a bigger tip than drink more!
We opted to go straight to the mains and tried the shrimp alfredo and the lobster risotto. Lobster is something I normally never make at home, so it was a treat. I love making risotto and this was just exquisite! Fresh and flavourful, as lobster should be, it came in the tail and the risotto included more lobster meat. This is one of the pricier choices on the menu at $41 but for a formal dinner, definitely worth it.
The shrimp alfredo was fantastic with home made fetuccini done al dente...perfection! For two meals with two small glasses of wine, you should expect to pay under $100 here, more it you wanted to include some appetizers an dessert.

Dec. 6, 2021 My wife and I just had a very good dinner at La Terrazza. Our waiter, Ibon Quinoy, was excellent and added to our evening. We also had excellent service from the bar tender who looked after us earlier in the afternoon. Our only complaint was that my wife asked for a ceasar salad with her dinner and the waiter tried to make it happen but he came back and said the kitchen would not do it for her, That seemed strange because Ceasar salad was on their special menu for the day. That was the only negative but it still took away from my wife's evening.

The service was truly amazing along with great food. We were there two days before Christmas and really enjoyed our meal. The restaurant had great menu selection and perfect ambience on a blizzardy day. Our waiter Ibon provided us great service and suggestions about meals and drinks and we got to hear about his travel stories. His warm service made the dinner even more delicious. Will definitely go back.

Despite being very busy the La Terrazza accommodated us and gave us a nice table on the main floor of the restaurant. They didn't have a lot of options for wine by the glass ( I think maybe 4 selections total 2 reds 2 whites). We ordered a tomato mozzarella cheese appetizer expecting full red ripe tomatoes and ended up with little cherry tomatoes - tasted fine but not what we expected. I got the chicken pharm. The chicken was dry and was topped with some slices of ham which made it even more dry. The side of pasta was great and the highlight of my meal.
My wife is celiac so anytime we find gluten free pasta its a winner for us. The Gluten Free pasta noodle was absolutely fantastic. We highly recommend this restaurant for a gluten free meal. Service was very good. Over all a nice experience but my chicken and the salad dropped down our review by one notch.

Children had fishfingers and vegetable sticks. I tried a bison steak which was really disappointing for the price. The meat was tough and didn't appear to have been cooked rare (requested) and the accompanying vegetables weren't great. My wife was happy with ravioli. We had some nice wine. The service was very good and the place seemed nice.

Food was disappointing. Service was great. Chicken Breast was overdone and tough. Cioppino was the size of an average soup bowl and salty. Tiramisu was excellent. This place is located in a hotel, small area and not much different than a hotel cafe. The staff and service was very good but we will not go back as the food was disappointing, no where near the rating it has in Trip Advisor.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has a warm comfortable atmosphere. It is spaced appropriately. We went with our 2 kids and they enjoyed it. The menu had a decent selection and the servers were knowledgeable about the dishes.
We enjoyed the friendly interaction with the staff as it came across as genuine.
The portion sizes are decent you will for sure be satisfied but with enough room for a coffee and dessert.
Sian was very friendly. She can engage in a conversation and is very professional all the while. The supervisor was also very personable they both shared the room. There was a girl on her first day from Ontario and she fits right in as she was just as friendly and attentive.
The food was very good but I would have wished for a little more seasoning on my dish however the lobster risotto was seasoned nicely and cooked bang on.
Overall I would go back if we were to visit Banff again as the evening was quite enjoyable and with lasting memories.
