For Banff, their happy hour is a real bargain with outstanding food. For happy hour 4-6 there are some drink options/savings but they also offer small plates for a reduced price. Part of their menu is pan-asian. They offer 6 selections of small plates for $7 each or 5 for $30. Selecting the 5 is an outstanding menu for a couple. Let's you sample some of their non-traditional items, which all of them were delicious. It was a real treat. Service was excellent.

Unexpectedly walked in here in for a late lunch and we had the most fabulous experience. Lunch was beautifully presented, was served quickly and was very tasty! Our waiter Rylee was super friendly, giving us some advice on where to visit in town while we were visiting and was chatting to us about our home country. He made us the yummiest hot chocolates we’d ever tasted and even shared with us the recipe so that we could make it at home. Atmosphere was quiet and relaxing with gorgeous views of Banff shining through the windows. Highly recommend visiting Brazen if you’re in Banff! :)

Great experience. Our waiter, Euan, was engaging, personable, and m passionate about his role After he explained the menu format, we ordered three 'small plates', two 'medium' plates, and two vegetable sides between three people which comfortably filled us.
Service was excellent. Pork belly and duck croquettes were particular highlights.
Hope to return on our next visit to Banff from Scotland.

Very professional, friendly and available servers. I took the beer recommended by the employee and I liked it. A nice surprise at the reception because the person in charge also spoke in French. Awards are correct, I liked how the steak was prepared, medium cooked, as I like, but the choice of meat put the supperen in check. I left half of my beefsteak on the plate at the end because I had to cut carefully the parts that could be eaten, without the "veins, the facies of hard beef muscles like tendons). That made the steak cold before I went to the middle of dinner. The presentation of the dish was also a winning point. The waiting time for preparation was very long, so they offered me 1 free glass of beer to apologize. I had trouble digesting the meat even the next day 😞. The vegetarian menu is also "heavy" has been digested. We made a brisk 1.5km walk to the Pension to help "digest" but without success 😞 . However, we liked the beautiful view, because we were lucky to have a table near the window. I do not think back because of the unfortunate choice of menu and decor a little old and dull.

We had a wonderful meal sharing mall plates. Lovely ambience in downtown Banff. Especially enjoyed the smoked beef tartare and the "cigarette and coffee" creme brulee. Selections are imaginative and presented with flair; ample portions for sharing and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and informed. Wine list, however, is a total ripoff - 8 ounces for $17? C'mon!
I could not give 5 stars because we were rushed. No chance to enjoy our cocktails before food was pushed on us and kept coming.
Recommend for the quality of the food and the service but they need to slow down and allow people to enjoy their drinks and food.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel concierge, and unfortunately, it was a let-down. We went for breakfast one day and then went back for dinner the following night.
The breakfast was just okay. We loved the decor inside. Service was good, but the food was honestly quite disappointing. I don't know what they are thinking when they put a grilled cheese benedict on the menu. The thing falls apart the second you try to cut your knife into it. It wasn't a very well thought out menu item in our opinion.
We decided to give it a go the following day, as we had heard their dinner offering was a better meal: this was a complete letdown. We decided to split a bunch of appetizers (kebabs, broccoli salad, duck croquettes, hummus); all of which were not worth the money and were very small portions. The flavors were okay but still lacking. We also ordered the chicken dish as an entree and was expecting it to be a much larger plate (as it is sold as a 30$ large plate entree). This was not the case. The broccoli salad had a larger portion to it than the chicken did, and our server told us that it wouldn't be spicy, however one of my friends dining with us couldn't even finish his dish after he ordered it mild and it came out flaming hot. To top it off, we thought our cocktails lacked flavor and much of a kick.
I won't be returning here.

Absolutely in love with this restaurant! It has a welcoming atmosphere and beautiful interior design. The menu is unique, featuring authentic recipes and ingredients. For parents, there’s a kids' menu—my kids enjoyed the mac and cheese and chicken tenders. They also provide little visitors with printed coloring pages and crayons. The staff were incredibly welcoming and responded quickly.

A nice setting with some fun music genres such as American contemporary R&B and soul to upbeat Jazz and modern day electric lo-fi coffee house beats. A well laid out environment where there is enough room to sit and enough room to walk to where you need to go. The ambiance is dark, brick, rustic, with heavy tables and weighted cutlery all lit by dampened light, the essence of quality carries across the room.
Our server Amy was attentive, friendly, witty, knowledgeable, and it was apparent she was enjoying her job as much as we were enjoying her presence. You will feel like you are in good hands if she is your server.
Sadly, I cannot give this restaurant a full rating for what I believe to be two very fair reasons.
One, the bathroom is outside the restaurant and shared with another business. This brings in outside pilgrims and maybe some visitors with less classy intentions when it comes to cleanliness. Also, if you sit in the men’s stall someone who obviously didn’t try their own layout put the toilet paper dispenser right overtop where your right leg would need to be stationed to sit properly. So, you get to sit like a lady on a bike seat off to one side of the toilet. I scratched my head in disbelief and thought to myself “Did someone try this toilet after they installed this dispenser?”
Two, I have drawn the conclusion that any restaurant that lights food on fire in front of you for show prior to you eating it. Well, the food is for show and not for the greatest taste. We found anything not lit on fire to be amazing and tasted great. The ginger beef that was set ablaze in front of us was not as thrilling as we expected fancy restaurant ginger beef to be. Maybe our expectations were too high.

Great experience at Brazen! Food was fantastic but the service was even better. Cate had recommended 3 apps and two mains along with some cocktails that married nicely with the items chosen. One of our favourite meals while we were staying in Banff!

Words fail me, the sablefish on greens with saffron veloutè was perfection for both of us, such flavors! The chef truly understood how to treat a delicate piece of fish, and crisped the skin perfectly.. the greens steamed and dressed in that sauce were magical, and the lemony side dish of fried artichoke hearts… well, we ate them all with great joy. Thank you, chef, for such a fine meal!

This is an honest but dissatisfied review. We researched best breakfast and decided to spend our money here. We had high expectations and left disappointed. There were 5 tables and service was slow. The food preparation was delightful. Because the service was slow ouour food was not even hot barely warm. The coffee was warm not hot and had to ask for fresh coffee. Server was good but distracted by the manager as we waited for food. When we mentioned the cold food to manager she indignitly offered us the local discount taking no ownership of poor quality of food. Nice atmosphere but be weary of lack of accountability of what they serve

To say that service here was impeccable is an understatement and the food was delicious. We had the ginger beef, duck special, and the prawn stuffed mushrooms at the recommendation of our server. All of Sophie’s recommendations were quality and she checked in an appropriate amount of time, was kind and gentle, and extremely well informed about the menu and wine. Not to miss in Banff

Had a lovely meal here. We shared a tomato, cucumber, pepper, onion, olive and feta salad. I had the lamb chops. Seasoning was delightful and they were cooked to perfection. My husband had the lamb shank which was tasty but borderline dry he said. He would have liked some of the juices it was cooked in. Also it was served in a bowl which was tippy when he was cutting the meat. We had the Greek white wine. We each had a piece of warm baclava. Our waiter Scott was very attentive. Make a reservation on the weekend.

We had Sunday brunch here, as we were staying in the adjoining hotel. Server was nice enough. Due to dietary restrictions the only thing I could eat on the menu unfortunately was the French toast without the toppings, instead of offering a side of fruit etc or a reduced price for half the food served, I was told as per the kitchen, that nothing could be discounted at all, so I was literally charged $19 for 1 single small piece of topping-less French toast with no side at all. Definitely not accommodating. Also several things were missed/forgotten with my family members meals. Hostess/ woman at the front hated her life/job and it was very apparent. Definitely not the vibe overall for an enjoyable Sunday brunch with family unfortunately.

Great experience! Mitch was so amazing, we are from out of town and he told us all the information we needed to know. Not only did he tell us about the hikes and the local area he had excellent menu recommendations and we were truly pleased with his suggestions. Mitch is the man!!
