Good food but slightly odd concept. The portions are huge with the idea that plates (including mains) will be shared. For four older people (ie no teenage appetites), we ordered two mains and two sides, plus one appetizer. It was more than enough food, but...we could have used more greens. We ordered the one green vegetable, but more would be good. Pleasant interior and great service.More
It was overall a very disappointing meal.
We were given a very small round table that could not hold the dishes properly. The service was decent. I would say it was average.
We always enjoy wine with our meals but the wine prices here are...outrageous. I don’t think they had any bottles of wine that were less than $60.00 and they are not premium wines The markup on their wines appears to be at least 3x what you would pay for the wine at a liquor store. Our glasses of wine were $18.00.
For dinner we shared the rotisserie chicken, strawberry bruschetta and creamed corn. The chicken was a whole coffee brine marinated chicken. My husband enjoyed the chicken but I found it to be very dry – especially the breast meat. I left most of my chicken uneaten. I liked the strawberry bruschetta but my husband did not like this dish. The creamed corn – my husband said that he likes the green giant steamed corn in butter sauce that we buy at the store better and I agree with him. We shared a lemon tart for dessert and it was very good.
The manager Collette came by our table to ask how our meal was. It was a nice gesture.
We would not return because we feel that it is overpriced for the quality of the food. It is just not good value.More
Very excited to have Arctic char, but when it was served, extending over the plate, It was daunting. While delicious, it was a huge waste of food. Chef came to see the two "big eaters" and apologized for the busy waiter who did not let...us know it serves two people (and then some). Offered us free desserts but, seriously, we were already over full. Sorry, but this was unacceptable. We were sorry we didn't return one portion when it was delivered. Won't return.More
Everything about our evening at Farm+Fire was spot on. Megan was a delight and made us feel right at home. The cocktails were creative and so good and the food was incredible. A great menu with something for everyone.
This place is so well put...together and even on a busy evening the service and care was excellent.More
Had seen this place recommended on TripAdvisor for pizza so gave it a try. Most of the more reasonable price places in Banff have same menu options but at least here the pizza toppings were a little more imaginative.
Hadn't made a reservation but as...eating early we were "able to be accommodated" even though restaurant wasn't even a quarter full when we left!
Luckily it was happy hour so pizza was half price which was a bonus.
Pizza bases were ok. I had the sweet and salty pig topping and it was very good, a bit of a take on a Hawaiian pizza but more spicy.
Service was ok but not as friendly as some other places recently visited.
Overall a good pizza experience though.More
Although we were staying at the Elk+Avenue hotel, you dont have to be a resident to eat and Farm & Fire and many customers were walking off the street rather than round the Coren from the hotel.
Some interesting dishes, together with some twists to...conventional menu items. And the pizza's were great!
We were looking after by two Brits, coincidentally. The Scottish lady (whom seemed in charge) worked hard to fit us in at a time different o what we had booked (our fault not theirs). And the English waitress (didn't catch her name) was the perfect role model for what you would want from a waitress.
Would certainly recommend.More
Our server, Brandon, was such a delight to have. He brings such a great atmosphere to the restaurant which has amazing options for vegans! Everything I ate/drink had left me feeling completely satisfied. Will visit here again!
