The ambience of this new to Banff restaurant was very nice and the breakfasts were amazing. The presentation was well done and the combination of food was unique. We ate here both days during our stay. We can only hope that the service improves with time as even a cup of coffee took 15 minutes and food was over an hour for a party of 6.

My wife and I decided to try this place out after seeing it had a 5star review. We ordered a buzzed ,and a tyme tea cocktail to drink, farmers soup and deep water farm greens to start, followed by bbq marinated pig wings and wood fired margarita flat bread. To be honest at first when the soup and salad came out I was thinking "they are charging way too much for this", then I figured well at least they are using Alberta farmers to supply their ingredients. Took a sip of my cocktail and wished I had gotten a beer instead, then took a bite of the salad and was pleasantly surprised by the flavors then the soup.....amazing!!. Now my wife and I couldn't wait to try the rest, and we were not disappointed. The pig wings were heavenly and the flatbread simply delicious. The sous chef came over to talk to us seeing how much we were enjoying the food and after complimenting him, he treated us to a orange rosewater creme brulee OMG , then we just had to try a baked 'Alberta ', which was simply divine. So so glad we ate here and will be more than happy to come back again. So if you are looking for something a little different this is the place to go. Oh and thanks Ben for taking such good care of us.

Farm & Fire provides a first-class dining experience without the hefty price tag. The patio lets you take in the stunning mountain views while connecting with friends. Our server and bartender, Jeremy was extremely helpful with both pizza and cocktail recommendations, and just like the breathtaking views have some breathtaking baby blues. Would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to dine in Banff.

Prices were too high for the amount of food you get, we ordered the catch of the day for $29 and was told it was enough food for 2 but when the fish came it was the size of a small corn on the cob. Service was so bad, our waiter was too busy visiting at another table to come and get our dessert order and then after I ordered it he came back 10 minutes later and told me the kitchen couldn’t make what I ordered and he would bring me a different one that the kitchen could make. Meanwhile the table beside us got the dessert that I ordered... we will not go back, we left still hungry.

At Farm & Fire we wanted to deliver a culinary experience that is both unassuming and welcoming, that centers around quality-driven ingredients. I am sorry you did not see the value in our sustainably sourced produce. All of our dishes are designed in a sharing style concept which our sever should have communicated this to you. The lack of professionalism surrounding your servers communication has given me an opportunity to develop our team to ensure this does not occur again.

We came for dinner on high expectations given the reviews but we were unfortunately very disappointed. Starting with the service, we were brought water and menus but the server never came back to ask about drinks. We had to ask specifically ourselves to get some wine ordered when our server came to take our orders. Secondly, all of our food came before we even got our drinks. The food was average at best and portions were small for what we were told was supposed to be a "sharing" menu. The $18 "must try" mushroom pan loaf was the equivalent size of one slice of banana bread. The $23 "pig wings" came as 2 very dry and overdone pieces. The roasted carrots add-on were burnt and overcooked. The Margarita flatbread was ok although we have had better. The best dishes were the rotisserie half-chicken which was moist and flavorful and the glazed beef short ribs which were cooked properly and very tasty, although there were only 2 of them which doesn't really work for "sharing" between 5 people. For the price unfortunately this is one of the most disappointing restaurants we have ever been to. Maybe a bad night for the kitchen and wait staff based on the other reviews but there are many better dining options in town.

After trying to get a seat at other restaurants that couldn't accommodate our party of 3 (it was a very busy Saturday night!), we stumbled across Farm & Fire and decided to check it out. Upon entering the first thing we noticed was how open, modern and airy it was. It was a beautiful place. We were warmly greeted by the hostess and when asked if they could accommodate us, they said that they were currently full but she would see what she could do (all the other places we tried didn't seem as welcoming or willing to try to seat us). They offered us a drink while we waited and after about 15mins, we were able to get a table! So happy we waited because the food was delicious! We all ordered a flatbread: 2 of us ordered the fungi and the other ordered the margherita. Paired with some amazing wine and beer. Finished off with dessert: the orange rosewater creme brulee. Perfectly sweet and light. We walked out of there happy, full and satisfied. We also loved the fact that this place offered food from local/Canadian farmers. I think this even included the drinks! Go check it out. You won't be disappointed!

We must have been here on an off night. The food was really pretty poor. First came two flank steaks. They came out an anemic, light grey colour (looking like they’d been boiled!) without any seasoning at all other than some salt sprinkled on top, and served on big plates without a stitch of garnish. When these grey blobs arrived, I initially said they weren’t ours — since they didn’t even look like flank steak. (My hunch is they were cooked soups-vide, but then never seasoned or seared. The greyish colour was weird, and the texture without any sear was off-putting.) Five minutes later, our sides arrived. A cob of corn (it was fine) and a pan of cornbread that was swimming in grease. Then, ten minutes after that (after numerous explanations from a server that they just deliver food “whenever it’s ready”), our two children finally received their food. (We’d long since finished our anemic flank steak steaks.) It’s a fantastic looking place, but I wouldn’t go back.

Hi PickyTraveler, I apologize that our sharing style menu was not executed in the desired outcome. Our server most certainly should have offered to bring the kids meals out first to keep the spring chickens entertained and well fed. Our flank steak, as you correctly assumed, is sous-vided to ensure a beautiful consistency of what is typically a tough cut. By no means should this have been light in colour. thank you for your feedback which will be brought to the kitchen to ensure each and every plate that leaves our pass is to perfection!

I came here to eat out with friends and ordered the only vegan main called "Vegan Dumplings". After being served I noticed that the dish indeed had dairy in it and was sprinkled with cheese. I only had the appetizer to choose from which was a white bean soup with bread. The dish was bland and heavy. By the time I ate my friends were halfway through their meal and I received no accommodation for the mishap. My friends enjoyed their food but were bummed I was left out from the service. The waiter was friendly and my friends were happy to eat at best. Because I felt excluded, I would not return to eat here or recommend this restaurant to close friends with similar dietary needs.

I am sorry to hear you would return after our manager on site apologised for this mishap, I believe the Chef also came out to speak with you. In the short time we had to launch a summer menu and re-open a restaurant after provincial closures, errors are bound to happen as we are all human after all. The Vege dumplings were as you mentioned, mistakenly written on our website as vegan dumplings, however all menus onsite correctly listed vege dumplings. You bringing this to our attention allowed us to update the website the very next day to ensure this did not happen again. We take action in the feedback given by guests as we want all to enjoy the culinary experience that is Farm and Fire. We hope that you will appreciate our apology and return to us again. It's difficult to know where to begin as there was such a great variety of unique options. Each one of them exceeded all my expectations. I had heard many positive things about Farm and Fire so naturally I went with a decent appetite and high hopes. There were many pleasant surprises which made the overall dining experience a real treat. I had the marinated pig wings, scotch egg, grilled flank steak, corn on the cob and potatoes; I told you I had a decent appetite; and all were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of added detail to make each item exceptional. The service was second to none and the atmosphere was casual, fun and much busier than I would have thought as I were there on a Tuesday evening. Do yourself a favour, when you visit Banff make sure you put Farm and Fire on your "to-do" list.

Finished a lovely early November walk/hike along the Bow River to the Hoodoos viewpoint - ~ 10 km loop - and landed back on Banff Avenue just about 4:30 pm with a good appetite! The 'happy hour' incentive at F&F extended beyond drinks to the field (salads) and fire (flatbread style of pizza) elements of the dinner menu; offered at half price. The food preparation was imaginative and fresh, and would have been good value at full price: half price made it extravagantly (F&!) good! The house staff were proficient and delightful - achieving an exquisite balance between attention without intrusion and personality without pushiness. The decor was fresh and clean, light ambience and warmth courtesy of the various open flame sources. We shared a roast beet salad to start and each chose a different flatbread style pizza. Everything was great, and we took half of each flatbread home; the serving sizes were generous!

What an amazing meal. The menu is so varied and yet down to earth, that we wanted to order everything! We ultimately chose the bbq chicken flatbread, honey roasted carrots, mushroom orichoette, and pork wings. All were spectacular, but the show stopper was the Mushroom Orichiette (please excuse the spelling). Small seashell pasta, with the creamiest most decadent sauce, with healthy sliced / sautéed wild mushrooms. The flavor is to die for: full mushroom flavor with a smooth creamy oka cheese sauce. After talking with the chef, and realizing the work and effort that goes into the food, the prices are very reasonable. Steve W, our server was excellent. Remembered our order perfectly, brought out each dish immediately, and was engaging and perfectly professional. Easily the best dining experience during our entire banff trip. We highly recommend any one comes here for a phenomenal meal.

If you are looking for a safe socially distanced place to dine this is not the restaurant to come to. The tables are right beside each other and they literally seat every single table. We watched 2 elderly couples get seated a foot away from each other, their backs were almost touching. We had high hopes for this place and it was such a disappointment. Our server was very rude and she seemed annoyed by any questions we had pertaining to the menu. The food was mediocre. The only good thing about this restaurant was the friendly host at the door who sat us and the chef that brought out our food. Wouldn’t recommend.

Rose, we are so sorry that you felt we were not adhering to the recommended standards. With such a large dining floor we have a enough room between every table allowing for each table to be sat, both AHS and Occupational Health & Safety have approved our floor plan, I hope that these tables were not in fact moved by our patrons to be closer to friends. We live and breathe Safety at Pursuit and I am very disappointed that in your experience you did not feel safe, especially while reading the opposite from all other reviewers. I will continue to train my team with all the safety protocols and policies we have to ensure this was a one off service . Thank you for taking the time to pass on this very important feedback. I can't recommend Banff's newest restaurant enough. Conveniently located on Banff Avenue in the Elk & Avenue Hotel, the beautiful open concept restaurant has a really great, vibrant atmosphere. The servers were knowledgeable and the food was SO tasty. I tried the Charcoal Lemonade, which was delightfully refreshing. There are great vegetarian options - the Margarita flatbread is SO good and the "Grains" dish is delicious too. I can assure all wood-fire pizza fans that you won't be disappointed. Be sure to save room for the pullapart bread for dessert! There's a beautiful patio from which you can soak in the spectacular mountain vistas and the outdoor herb garden is a lovely touch. Will definitely return!

We were in Banff for a weekend get away during COVID. We stayed at the Elk & Avenue hotel which was adjacent to Farm & Fire. After a great bike ride along the Legacy Trail on a cloudless plus 23 degree Saturday, we looked for a nice restaurant for a relaxing dinner. Little did we know how popular this restaurant was ... we didn’t book ahead but were fortunate enough to get a table as a walk in. We weren’t disappointed our meal was outstanding! Our server, Amy was very welcoming & friendly. She explained the type of dining experience Farm & Fire offered ... shareable plates. We also loved the fact they choose local producers & products in preparing their menu selections. Altho the restaurant was busy, we felt social distancing procedures were properly followed. Making a decision was more difficult than we thought! After great deliberation, we ordered the grilled flank steak with Hollandaise sauce, the steak was tender & cooked to perfection. We chose two sides, cornbread & garlic green beans with crispy mushroom chips. The green beans were incredibly flavourful & also cooked to perfection. The cornbread was light & tasty. Altho we felt we had eaten enough, the dessert menu was so tempting and as our food had been absolutely heavenly, we decided our meal wouldn’t be complete without dessert! We ordered the Baked Alberta (my husband is celiac & this selection was GF) which we shared. From the overproof rum flambé to the mountainous meringue & maple walnut gelato this dessert did not disappoint!! We spoke to Amy about nearby hikes & asked for any recommendations she might have as it had been many years since we had done any hiking in Banff. We followed one of her suggestions & ended our weekend with a great hike. Dining at Farm & Fire with the exceptionally talented culinary staff & servers was a perfect way to end a spectacular fall day in the mountains. Reservations recommended
