I booked very carefully the few restaurants we were going to visit while in Mexico, after all we only had three days. This restaurant came very highly suggested from some friends, they described it as authentic Mexican cuisine, with a fun environment, at a pretty cheap price. The night we attended there was live music, some dancing, and of course a very good food.

We've been to the Havana Moon at both the Riviera Maya and at Puerta Villarta. The PV one is much more upscale and authentically Cuban, and the Havana Moon one is more casual and easy going. Both are worth going to. I was struck by the odd combination of Cuban and Asian food at Riviera Maya. I had Asian Noodles with vegetables and they were good, but I would have much preferred a vegan Cuban rice, beans and plantains plate, which they didn't offer on the RM menu. Music and dancing are part of the experience if you want it in RM.

Don't understand the bad reviews; we had excellent service and the wait staff was always available for extra requests. There is a wide variety of International food items; I had Fried Rice with Pork, Bacon, Shrimp and Chicken and the dish was huge. The salads are all refreshing and can be shared. And the pizza's are great. The Cuban sandwiches are very tasty.

We went for lunch. Waited to be seated. Two large groups ahead of us. Finally they seated us ahead of the groups. Waited a long time at our table to be acknowledged by a server. He was called off by another server who never returned. We went to the bar to order lunch. Bartender was working by himself and said he would get a server to take our order. Didn’t happen. I went back to the hostess and was assured someone would serve us. Didn’t happen until the bartender intervened again. After waiting twenty or more minutes for food, I went to the hostess again. Magically, a server appeared and said he would check on our order. Before I could get back to the bar he was delivering our lunch. Hmmm! The food was good and the bartender was excellent working by himself!

Rest assured these are not the best business practices that we spend considerable time, energy and resources training on, and they will not be tolerated. 5 star for great ambience/music and 3 stars for food. 1 star for everything else. Can't believe this place have good reviews. We had to wait 1hour for our table, though there were plenty empty tables, idk, they were probably short-staffed on a sunday ($1100 a night hotel). Then another 30mins wait for the waiter to get our order, and another 30 mins for our drinks to be served, and so on. In total, we stayed there 3.5 hours. 30 mins eating and 3 hours waiting. Tried all other restaurants at vidanta, they're all the same. Very slow service.

Ridiculous pricing for subpar/bad food and bad service. We tried to order drinks and were told that we could not order them with the waiter, so we walked over to the bar in the restaurant and ordered the drinks we wanted. The special for the night was surf and turf. The waiter didn't know what he was doing and actually had to come back to ask me how I wanted my steak cooked. When I received my ribeye it was overcooked and cold. The shrimp were also cold and burnt on one side. My wife's stirfry was super hot, so I am sure my food was just sitting there for a while. I also had to remind the waiter that we ordered a side. We finally got it when we were all but done. They need to take out automatic tipping. The service would be so much better.

Havana Moon is supposedly a Cuban restaurant. There was nothing Cuban about this restaurant. The menu showed everything from Chinese lo mein to Italian pizza too what is supposed to be a roasted chicken dish. That dish looked like the closest to what could potentially be Cuban. I have been to Havana and I’ve eaten Cuban food. There was nothing Cuban about this chicken dish. The chicken was dry, bony and had no taste. It was a joke. Not only was it not roasted but deep-fried, but it also tasted like something that was reheated from a freezer. This dish was nearly $50. I don’t mind paying for a good dinner, but I do mind being gouged which is definitely the case with this restaurant. Don’t waste your money here. None of us four had a good experience with their dinner choice. Every dish was terrible. And we ended up paying way too much money for low quality food. Unfortunately this is one of the many restaurants in the Vidanta Resorts that is simply not good and way too expensive.

Ordered Rib Eye and over half of it fat and gristle, although had good flavor. Mashed potatoes was one 1 ice cream scoop .We asked for another side if it , which never arrived. Service the worst . Did not check in on us once received the food. Took our plates and did not even ask if we wanted desert and then took 35 minutes to get bill.

Our party of 6 enjoyed a delicious dinner at Havana Moon. The food and drinks were very good, with reasonable prices. Service was good. We stayed for the entertainment and were quite disappointed in the hapless talent of the band. We have heard lots of Cuban and Caribbean music in the past, but this was about as bad as it gets. The band members were friendly and energetic, but off-beat and ill-practiced. A conga line was out of the question (smile).

We end up eating here at least two nights during our week-long stay at Vidanta. The portions are generous and very good. Price seems reasonable for a resort restaurant. Wait staff has always been amazing. Charley was as good as it gets for a waiter.

I am suprised Vidanta hasn't remodeled this restaurant. It's without a doubt the best location on the property but it's probably also the worst restaurant on the property. it's an amazing ocean front location and always has live music but the food is below average.

We had 1 breakfast and 1 dinner during our stay. We thought the breakfast buffet was fantastic and well worth the price. Dinner was very good too. They had live music so that was a nice addition. Even though many empty tables the night we were thewre still had about a 15 minute wait. No big deal.Great location on the beach. Ate breakfast outside and dinner inside

Good food with a Cuban Flair and Asian touch. The Grouper was cooked to perfection. Tender, juicy and accompanied by veggies. Our waiter was fun and kept his eye on the tables needs. Entertainment was good and dancing was the hit of the night

I liked the energy of the restaurant and enjoyed the music. It has a bright and beachy vibe to it. There is an indoor and outdoor area which is nice to have the option. I ordered a noodle dish and I enjoyed it very much. They have a variety of options and recommend coming.

We shared a meal, chicken lo mien, and it was plenty. We ate out doors, and were able to get in at 5:30pm. This is a big place, nice decor, beachy feel, and sand in your toes while dining. I only wish we could go back for dancing, or music.
