Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Mazatlan has a good cafe game. If you're looking for a breakfast or brunch to stick with you all day, Allegro has you covered.
Their waffle sandwich is one of our favorites. The guacamole compliments the dish well. I'm also a fan of their corn tamale. It's like cornbread that goes perfectly with their chorizo or machaca. Their drip coffee is good, lattes very good. And the prices are reasonable, too.

Allegro’s Café in El Centro is a perfect spot for a casual breakfast and offers surprisingly delightful coffee options. The large cappuccinos are truly irresistible. Our Breakfast Club group of seven had a wonderful breakfast experience together. We plan to return during the busy season with a larger party, as the food and service exceeded our expectations. Overall, Allegro’s Café is an excellent choice for brunch or breakfast! The menu features a wide variety of dishes, generous portions, reasonable prices, and outstanding service. I highly recommend it!

The coffee is excellent, the machaca is good and with the corn tamale an excellent combination
The delicious tongue quesadilla and the green chilaquiles cake are highly recommended. The lady who served us was very nice and the dishes arrived very quickly, I highly recommend it…. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand I found the apple pie exquisite, nothing sweet, I normally don't order the right pasta for the same reason

The food was very good but when it was time to serve dinner the waiter spilled a lemonade on my wife and wet it all. We didn't come up with any bad plans. The waiter and his friend came to apologize and ask us not to say anything please because they would run to the waiter. We didn't want them to run to the waiter and we understood that it was an accident but as an apology they should have given him something courtesy, like a dessert or not have charged for my wife's food and it's not because we needed them to, but as an apology, but even the lemonade he threw on my wife was charged for
Terrible customer service. We never came back.

Just to say. Mazatlán is an amazing place to visit. The people are all nice except for this specific spot. I walked in with a cousin and all of the employees gave us a dirty look just because we were Mexican. Completely avoided us. I am Mexican American and seemed to laugh when I pulled out a 20 dollar bill, until then, they decided to attend me. Ridiculous the amount of racism there is, especially because they are the ones who are Mexican. Just because there are many American tourists does not mean that you have to treat the Mexican less. Respect your land and learn how to treat EVERYONE properly :)

We really enjoy this cafe in all its several locations for its good food and friendly service. We've generally paid our check in MX pesos. However recently we used a USA credit card and noticed after reviewing their receipt that their bank, BANORTE, applied an exorbitant currency conversion rate to our credit card billing. Allegro's credit card receipt shows Allegro's total check in pesos and BANORTE'S currency conversion result. Buyer beware. Enjoy Allegro. Avoid BANORTE exorbitant credit card currency conversion rate here.

Allegro serves excellent breakfasts, and their service is quick and friendly. A good place to know about when the lines are too long at Panama Bakery across the street. I am a regular there, and I see many other regulars there every morning. Recommended when you're in the Golden Zone.

Just visited tonight, 18/03/21, to try the Carrot Cake (issued as a challenge to find the best in Mazatan) and what a waste of money, time and calories. While the Cherry Cheesecake is/was great, the Carrot Cake is abysmal to be kind. Carrot cake was DRY, tasteless except for an undercurrent of some mystery spice/flavour and decidedly lacking carrots, coconut and moisture . The icing was not traditional cream cheese and was sticky (not in a good way), much too sweet and sparse. I bought an extra piece for my friend, but it's hitting the garbage as well. Would not give this away nor will I purchase again.
Best Carrot Cake in Mazatlán?? You'll love it.... The European Sausage Kitchen at 2210 Benito Juarez ! Always great (although frozen), constantly wonderful. Second best? Brownie Mania in the Plazuela Machado. Good but inconsistent (last time there were bananas in mine).
This listing also says that Allegro delivers. Not true.

Amazing good, loved the omelette and the coffee. Visited twice during our stay like we do every time, right in the Golden Zone. They have or had a place downtown, too.

With the Street destruction/construction underway, it’s a little raucous for downtown Mazatlan businesses including Allegro. The food, coffee, street atmosphere and service is cordial and professional. Two thumbs up!

By far the best cup of Coffee since arriving to Mazatlan. We are staying in an all Inclusive property and the o coffee is so weak so we were jonesing for a good cup. Very clean and relaxing inside. Service was very good!
