A wonderful meal at the Rising Sun. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. You can take a dog if you don't mind eating in the bar. The Rising Sun is a pretty country pub in an out-of-the-way location but well worth searching out....More

Went with 3 other couples after a gap of several months, the food was always good, but I have to say we felt it was better than ever. Good attentive staff with an imaginative menu coupled with good portion sizes. Will be back soon.

Come hear for some dinner with the misses and the dogs made very welcome. The dogs are allowed in the bar area. Had the box steak which was great well worth ordering.

This pub must have one of the best burgers in the area. Their food can be highly recommended. Great atmosphere.

Took the in laws here for dinner- they are VERY picky- and it went down a treat. We had the fish, the lamb and the pork, sadly the venison was sold out. It was excellent. The staff are also fabulous, from the super barman as...More

We enjoy the atmosphere of this pub and have done so for years. We did find though that, alhough the food is good, it is over rated and the prices have become too high. Pity.

We've eaten here a few times now and it's very good; beef, pork and seafood all cooked perfectly and vegetables are just right (maybe a little underdone for some). The desserts are beautiful-pavlova with strawberries and chocolate fondant with raspberries-there is care with the cooking...More

The Rising Sun is an 18th century traditional moorland inn, offering a fine selection of local and guest real ales, wines and spirits, contemporary bar and restaurant food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Our food is freshly prepared and cooked in our kitchen and where possible we source our ingredients with sustainability, seasonality and localism at the top of our agenda. We are situated just off the A30 about 1 mile through the village of Altarnun in the hamlet of Treween. We serve food both lunch and dinner 7 days a week. We also have a great little campsite with shower facilities and electric hook-ups. Please call for availability.
