This place is really popular because it is directly on the sand. Unfortunately high tide coincided with opening time of 12:00 so a thin strip of sand which loads of visiting English (I am English myself) crammed together on the beach. They seemed to think that the 2 metre rule did not apply. Luckily we got a picnic table so we were marginally better off than some of the people on the sand. All staff wore masks and visors, there was a one way queueing system and you were served quickly so if you go, don’t rush to queue! We had a couple of drinks and a prepacked sandwich. It wasn’t unreasonably priced but at the end of the day it is a prepacked sarnie. If you want gourmet food you will be disappointed. I heard one mother complain about the most expensive packet of crisps she had ever bought her child but, you know, you are paying for sitting in a beautiful place. You can only get here by walking so if you can walk for 20 mins uphill, don’t go.

Thank you for your comments. Regarding social distancing we have no juristriction over thebeach which belongs to the National Trust. We have placed the benches two metres apart but other than that we expect people to distance themselves. We also have no control over the tide! We have a well marshalled area of queuing for the bar, a one way system which we have worked very hard at to make it successful. The sandwiches are made fresh by us every day at our satellite kitchen during these extremely testing times. Brione MacMillan co owner

We visited today and have to say the location is stunning. We parked (for ÂŁ5) in the golf course car park which is about half a mile walk through the course. I asked the car park attendant if the pub/restaurant was open as we wanted food and he told us it was. On arrival we found the restaurant is closed due to Covid 19 and they were selling sandwiches which had sold out. Disappointed as we went out there for some lunch/dinner.

I am very sorry for your disappointment. We are functioning during very difficult times. We are only working outside and can only serve sandwiches which we make at our satellite kitchen fresh every day. This is not ideal in so many ways. If it rains we are unable to open at all and this week especially the weather is very unpredictable so there is an awful lot of wastage which we really can’t afford and which I absolutely hate. We only ever serve food at lunchtime due to our remote location. All the restrictions are well documented on our signage at the bottom of the golf road and at the entrance to the beach and on social media...what else can we do? Brione MacMillan co owner

Well worth the walk through the golf club to get to this gem. Cool vibe going on. Not the cheapest drinks about, more city prices really - £5 a pint, £8 a cocktail. We had a tray of cheesy nachos which were well worth the money, in fact the potion was probably too big for 2 people & could have easily fed 4! Can’t wait to come back.

Went to the pub because of a recommendation. Looked at their website first. I know Covid is not their fault but not updating the website is. As others have said, just a bar shack selling pre packed sandwiches so forget the ploughmans described on the website. Better sandwiches from a supermarket. My wife had a coffee served from a flask, so stewed she threw it away. I had a beer served in plastic cup. Maybe in full summer sitting outside is fun but not on a cold Septembers day. We left. Avoid and certainly do not look at the website.

I have been coming to the Ty Coch at Porth Dinllaen Morfa Nefyn for over fifty years the location is stunning and it's always been a pleasure to call at the Ty Coch Inn for a beer and something to eat. However May 2021 still outside seated due to the virus and well out of the tourist season, I was charged ÂŁ10.20 for a pint of local beer and a vodka with a splash of coke. This is an absolute rip off and double the normal charges. The drinks were served in paper cups as well Either the bar men are robbing the customers or the Landlady is being very greedy! We your customers are trying to support you after the lockdown. Please stop robbing us!!

After reading rave reviews we felt like we had to go !! There is nowhere saying opening times and that you have to pay £5 to park and walk for 20 minutes to get to it .We paid n walked and arrive at 11:00am hoping to have a coffee and a bite to eat ( cake or lunch) .The bar staff didn’t acknowledge us so after admiring the view for a while I went to order and after interrupting the swearing from the staff I was told they don’t serve until 12 o’clock. We we’re very disappointed at not even being able to get a coffee.About 5 other couples / families asked the same thing as us and were also very disgruntled It maybe a fab place later in the day / evening but we certainly won’t entertain it again. £5 wasted

Decided to walk to Ty Coch for lunch today in the drizzle. Outside only seating and very limited menu. Very expensive food which was very disappointing. ÂŁ4.50 for a pasty that was completely underwhelming. Looked like it had been sat on! When asked staff polite but acknowledged food is pricey, bit sells out everyday, not v helpful. Coffee good but this is not a lunch destination.

What a disappointment, having been told by friends to visit, the only saving grace was the location. The person taking the food order was one of the most grumpiest demeanours I have experienced in a long time. They showed about as much customer service as a cardboard box. Very limited food choice, with sandwiches obviously made of site and the hot dog was really small Very complacent attitude Bring a packed lunch and just experience the location

Was hoping for the lovely beach scene as seen in pictures, but with the tide being out, all of the beach was covered in seaweed. And because the day was gorgeous, there were a lot of people on the beach. Only drinks were being served (bottled or on tap) and a limited menu of drinks at that. Parking was ÂŁ5, then you had to walk about 15 minutes to the beach where the pub is located. Two drinks cost about ÂŁ9 (for a lager and a ginger beer) There was social distancing, but a bit difficult for the size of the crowd.....I was happy to leave.

Pros Great beach and surrounding area Cons The pubs plastic waste litters both beaches. Knives and forks are everywhere and coffee cups wash ashore as do little plastic biscuit wrappers. Staff didn’t come around to the beach tables once to check or clear up. We have a climate emergency so quite disappointing how little care is taken. Some of this is veg ware degradable stuff but a lot isn’t. Especially the biscuit wrappers- I picked up maybe 20 on my walk up and down the beach. Food is very bland and disappointing. The calzone for kids was just a wrap with melted cheese for £4.50 (that is NOT a calzone). Sandwiches were of decent supermarket quality but again cost £4-5. Coffee was scolded and very bitter- similar I taste to a costa coffee. Staff stood outside before opening swearing and smoking. One (long haired) spat loudly on the floor.

It's a brave new world now with Covid, things aren't the same. So people shouldn't compare to pre covid! But the views haven't changed and it is still in beautiful location if you lift your eyes and look across the bay! There is a temporary beer tent outside to get beers and food, but when we were there, people queued with social distancing and there is room on the beach if you want to find it. There is limited seating (We sat on the beach) and yes the drinks are in plastic cups and It is quite expensive, but is still very busy perhaps testament to its location. We had the pre packed sandwiches which we thought were good. I would recommend it and try the local beer in bottles which is excellent.

It takes around 20 minutes to walk to the Ty Coch Inn through hills and golf courses but a wonderful view nonetheless. The beach surrounding the pub is secluded but fairly popular so you can expect it to be busy when visiting. Our food and drinks were both served within 15 minutes which both me and my partner were surprised about due to how busy it was. We were lucky enough to sit inside as there is not much space and can become crowded very easily however this is something that we don't mind and felt it added to the atmosphere of this quirky little pub. Saying this, it would not be an ideal location for wheelchair users or pushchairs as there is such little space and of course the pub only being reachable by foot. All in all, we would 100% come here again as it was the most unique pub location we have ever been to and the food and drinks were just as enjoyable!

The most stunning views and could be one of the best pubs in Wales with so little effort, it has such a beautiful location and built in foot fall, but instead it goes for the most basic inedible food possible and prices high to make a quick profit of the captured tourists. Baked potatoes with Heinz beans (think they must be sponsored by Heinz as the say it repeatedly on the menu) Microwaved pasty slapped on a plate four pounds please German sausage in a cheap bread roll Chilli and veggie chilli You get the picture, cheap and nasty food at tourist prices. My advice bring a picnic to the perfect beach and avoid the awful Inn until they wake up and do their job properly.

What a beautiful location on the peninsula. The beach is secluded from the wind, has white sands and this lovely little pub is on the beach. There is a bar on the beach (outside the pub) and inside they serve food. The food is pub ish. Good sandwiches, sausage rolls etc. We had jacket potato. There can be an hour wait as the beach gets very busy in the summer or holiday periods

Pleasantly underwhelmed by this 'famous' establishment! The bay itself is stunning. We were lucky enough to visit on a sunny day and the views were fabulous. We parked at the NT car park and walked along the beach, past the pub and up to the end of the headland. Back at the pub, queues were forming. A little disappointed that due to COVID-19 restrictions, they were only selling pre packaged sarnies. And every single sandwich had mayonnaise in it! We can't be the only family where at least one person doesn't eat mayo! Pricey for what it was, with a pre packed sandwich at ÂŁ4.50 and a bag of crisps ÂŁ1.30. Staff friendly enough but managed to pour a pint of bitter instead of a pint of cider. Didn't realise until my husband started drinking it. Will visit the bay again but will bring a picnic next time.

Thank you for your review. During this extremely difficult time we are trying our best to please everyone. All our sandwiches are made fresh by us at our satellite kitchen ( which I believe was explained to you on the day). We have nothing to make sandwiches down at the pub hence your problem. It would not normally be a problem if our kitchen was open but due to COVID restrictions it isn’t possible to use it at the moment. Although they are packaged they are fresh, well filled and given the expense we have had to go to re packaging and labelling value for money. Brione MacMillan co owner
