Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely small beach bar off the beaten track in Hillsborough. Good food, beer, wine and cocktails, good value and great beach front location. Quiet and relaxed.

Great place to enjoy a cold drink, sunset and fresh food!
Try the Funky Diva cocktail and on Monday - fresh fish and chips! So tasty - lightly dredged - and crisp chips.
There is also live music on Mondays. And one of the few places that had Caribbean Blue Light gin for a yummy G&T!
We visited several times just to enjoy a cold drink and sunset - thank you Leslie Ann and Susan for making us feel so welcome!

This is a wonderful beachside restaurant on the edge of town. We have visited frequently over the last month and have sampled most of the menu and could fault nothing.
The young lady that usually runs the bar as well as cooking is an absolute gem, always happy and greeting us with a smile- so definitely an employee to cherish.
During its season the Monday Lobster night should not be missed.

This place has been closed for over a year. Signs are still up, not been removed. Also the beach is now practically non existent due to encroaching sea. Don't waste your time going there.

After a 6-year gap of visiting the island, with many a daydream of being back at La Playa looking out over the bay from the beach terrace, drinking a Stag and eating a fish burger - we were a bid nervous about coming back and being disappointed. Joyously, it's exactly the same. Small menu done really well. Carriacou is a gem of an island, unspoilt by commercialism and multi national hotels. La Playa exemplifies everything that is right about the island. Please never change.

We stopped here for lunch on our last day on the island, before catching the ferry at Tyrrel Bay. It was raining a bit but the place was full with families enjoying the lunch. We had to wait 1 hour because the girl in the kitchen was alone, preparing everything from scratch. But my fish was really tasty and fresh and the view of the bay was really beautiful.

Cute restaurant on the water with a beautiful view. The food was average quality, service was good. Would recommend for a quick bite.

It is nice to get away from the busy streets in town and relax by the sea. A bit disappointed after having read the reviews. Pina Colada is very tasty. They did not have all the items on the meny. My youngest got the last hamburger bread. He said the
burger was good compared to Island style. Pizza - would not recommend it. Panini - not too bad. Service very friendly. All in all a nice visit and will recommend the place most because of location and drinks.

Arrived at la playa for lunch in off season having read some broadly positive reviews. The two female staff were completely disinterested, if not resentful, of our arrival. We were the only customers. I enquired about various items on the menu but nearly all were”unavailable” and I resorted to “well what do you have?”. It was clear they were completely disinterested in preparing lunch so we abandoned plans to eat there but felt bad about walking out so said we’d stay for a drink. My kids ordered a soft drink, I ordered a beer and my wife ordered a mojito cocktail (one of her favourites). When the latter arrived the initial appearance was concerning (photo) she made the mistake of tasting it - it was utterly revolting and undrinkable. I think it was most likely a defrosted frozen version?
We felt extremely unwelcome - the two staff were rude bordering on hostile. We will never go back there. There are plenty of places to eat and drink on the island where the staff are friendly and welcoming. It’s a real shame as the location of the bar is great and it has a lot of potential - a change of ownership most definitely would help. I’m just glad we didn’t eat there.

Great cocktails, amazing views and Khalil always makes you smile :) The Caribbean breeze is a particular favourite of mine and enjoying the sunset over the sea is a fantastic way to end a day

Lovely staff, great food and drinks, and amazing spot to enjoy sunset from the beach. I strongly recommend burgers with wedges, Sangria, Caribbean Breeze and Piña Colada. Love it!

It's nice to be able to walk steps to the sandy quiet beach and swim while waiting for your lunch - which we did! The small outdoor restaurant is colorful and quiet. The fish nuggets (also known as Carriacou love-bites) were fresh and delish, and the burgers were cooked with high-quality local Carriacou cattle. An added bonus: unlike many places on Carriacou, this one accepts credit cards if you're running low on EC$!

Ran into this place in Hillsborough Bay and we are so glad we did! The ladies running the place were amazing, the burgers spectacular, and just one of those places you need to experience!

They were about to close but served us (party of 6) one round of delicious cocktails. They also own Green Roofs up the road, which again served us very nice drinks.
