Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the top ten meals of my life ♥️ Book an early time (6pm) as this is a wonderful place for sunset. Then enjoy some really wonderful inventive cuisine. My beautifully seared tuna tataki came with half a dozen gorgeous vegetable dishes including ginger...braised pak Choi, pickled sea moss and baked butternut. Everything was perfect. By far the best dining on the islandMore

This is the best restaurant on the island. I'm surprised it isn't rated higher. Overlooking a pretty garden and the Caribbean ocean with gentle sea breezes blowing through the second floor dining patio. The food and service is top notch and the chef has been...there for many years. The wine list is very limited but cocktails are available.More

The Green Roof Inn serves great food; typical local food. E.g. the Lobster is perfect. The staff is very friendly. On top you enjoy a perfect view over Hillsborough.

We visited for dinner, and had wonderfully prepared lobster and marlin - and excellent cocktails. We did not stay here - we had rented a small villa - but may well return and stay here. It seems very well appointed and comfortable and the location...is superb.More

The Green Roof restaurant and rooms Carriacou There are still some places worth making the effort of a long and hot journey. The lazy, instant gratification seeking tourist is deterred by the challenge and so deprives himself of the pleasure of a location which he...would not in any event understand. Do not come here. There is no air conditioning in most places, a complete absence of road signs and an incomprehensible one way system in the capital. The milk is strange and fresh vegetables mis shaped. It would never do in the EEC. The Green Roof sits perched above the sea , just outside of town, in its colourful garden. A few barely detectable rooms with verandas hide among the foliage. Surprisingly the cocktail list would sit comfortably in Mayfair, but at a fraction of the cost. I love small menus. It means everything is fresh and made just for you while you gaze at the spectacular sunset. Fish is the thing here. It is superb. The service is friendly and genuine and there are only about four tables, rarely full. It makes spectacular date territory! There is a whitewashed container in the grounds, a spa of course, what else ? The end is unlocked away and you can listen to the sea while your tired muscles drop away their concerns. It’s a place to return to again and again.More

We had previously visited this restaurant some years ago and on the back of the excellent meal chose to book rooms for this visit. The restaurant continues to offer high quality food, cooked with skill & love. Choices of 2 starters & mains, alongside a...dessert Tuesday to Sunday. In addition the excellent breakfast menu with the freshly baked bakes each morning are a must.More

Whenever we are on the great island of Carriacou, we go to the GreenRoof twice and their other establishment, aka Playa at least once. Always, and I mean always a great place to go! Reasonable, but great food! Very accommodating for the vegetarian as well...as some great local seafood.More

Dining at The Green Roof Inn comes with lots of attitude and mediocre food at best. Carriacou is a small beautiful isle, with lovely residents and service providers. While there isn’t a broad array of dining choices, do yourself a favor and avoid The Green...Roof InnMore

A family friendly hotel approximately 15 mintues to walk to the town centre. However the local bus stopped outside which was convenient as my mother in law couldn't walk too far. We booked 3 rooms because we were a group of 7 all of which...were adequate, the bathrooms needed updating but did the job. The staff were helpful and worked hard. Breakfast was continental with fresh fruit daily and bolied eggs. The dinning room had stunning views that was refreshing each morning. We heard the evening meals were amazing and I have to agree we were not disappointed. We would stay again.More

Hi everyone I have never written a review, however this place is paradise . From every aspect ; The price is reasonable, the accommodations are terrific , The location is fantastic, the food is excellent . Breakfast was just exactly what was needed, I ate...dinner there four times, and always had seafood , The half lobster bake is fantastic and the sauce is excellent . I have traveled extensively in the Caribbean, some 30 plus islands , and Carriacou is a gem , and the green roof inn ... paradise !! The owners are there , it's immaculate , lots of special touches . It is basically the Caribbean as it once was some 50 to 60 years ago. I was there five nights, and can't wait to come back . The boat ride from Grenada was pure hell, I suggest you fly there. Let's be clear if you're looking for McDonald's, nightly gambling casinos , and room service, Carriacou is not for you !! The staff was very friendly , and cared about your stay , always quick to help out ;);) What a gem ;););) Again, I simply don't write reviews however I had to share how wonderful this place truly is ;);) Thanks MarcMore
