I haven’t reviewed in a while but felt that this experience needed one. We booked this restaurant for a milestone anniversary. We arrived one minute before our reservation and were told that because we were “early” we would have to wait. Five minutes later we we escorted to our table. The server presented the menus and started to give us recommendations for dishes that were not on those menus. When we questioned that she looked at the menus, took them away, and brought the right ones for that evening. There was no explanation for the error. We made our selections and settled in. The amuse bouche was quite tasty. The frogs legs appetizer was decent as well but the salad was over dressed and average. We had barely finished those when the mains were delivered (without the lime sorbet palate cleanser). The lobster was over cooked and the mussels were under seasoned. We questioned the server captain about the missing palate cleanser and were informed that we didn’t order one (even though it was marked on the menu without a choice having to be made). Then we waited for quite a while to make a dessert choice. The desserts were delivered after a lengthy wait and then after we had completed the dessert our cappuccinos arrived. The timing of the whole meal was off. Some was good but considering that this was one of the most expensive meals we have had in a restaurant, I can’t say it was worth it.

We were staying close by at Mount Cinnamon Hotel and fancied a change of scene for a meal, having already eaten out one night at Umbrellas nearby and got frustrated with the slow service. We came in off the beach one afternoon and asked if we could reserve a table for the evening. The manager (I think) who greeted us was very welcoming and made our reservation, despite our beach gear, and when we dined he also toured the tables checking everyone was happy. This is an upmarket hotel with an upmarket style restaurant, where the staff have obviously been incredibly well trained in service and in explaining the food they are presenting - especially impressive here on Grenada where things are generally pretty rustic! Yes its pricey at 85USD for 5 courses on a set menu, but it does make for a special experience. Just not sure I would want this every night if staying in the hotel, but the food was lovely. Photos of the food attached.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at this amazing restaurant. The service was exceptional and the staff so welcoming (even though we weren't staying ate the hotel). The wine is not too pricey and the wine list extensive. The food was to a high standard; we particularly loved the chocolate orange dessert!

My husband and I were eager to dine at Oliver's, having heard it was one of the best restaurants on the island. As avid patrons of five-star dining experiences during our travels, our expectations were high. Upon arrival, adhering to the smart dress code indicated on their website, my husband was in a polo shirt and slacks, and I wore a dress. However, the reception from the maitre d' was less than welcoming, as he scrutinized my husband's attire but remained silent. Despite our early arrival at 6:00 pm for a 6:30 reservation, we were made to wait until exactly 6:30, even though the restaurant was visibly empty with only three other couples seated. Once seated, we were not placed in the main dining room due to my husband's attire not including a button-down shirt, which was both surprising and upsetting, considering the lack of clear communication about such specific requirements. Opting for a seemingly safe choice, I ordered fish, only to be served a burned dish initially, and then an overly dry one after sending it back. The manager's response to our expressed dissatisfaction was a mere apology, lacking any substantial resolution or empathy for our experience. Overall, Oliver's did not live up to the prestigious reputation it purported. It seemed they favored guests staying at the establishment rather than walk-in diners. I regret to say that our experience was profoundly disappointing, and I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Experience was disappointing. After researching best fine dining options on the island I didn’t hesitate to book Oliver’s for my trip with my husband. First off, ambiance was ok, could improve, that didn’t bother us as long as food and service was as good as we had heard. Waiter came to greet us, and we informed her we were not staying at the hotel, the members of the hotel dine here for free (it’s included) for outsiders it’s about $115 pp for a 5 course meal, which we had no problem paying. Service started off fine, but everything slowed down. Our main dish took forever to come, our waiter did not come back around at any moment to ask us how our meal was, the dessert portion it seemed as if we were forgotten completely, I had to ask them to cancel it because it took way too long we were some of the last people there, finally dessert came, and no one in sight to request check etc. seems as if the people who worked there did not care because most people who dine there, stay there, don’t have a check and can leave once they’re done. Overall, food was ok, not worth the price in our opinion, I had the catch of the day which was good but nothing to knock my socks off. Later in the evening not seeing any worker, I walked to the front to ask for the bill and shared my experience, almost all the workers there were so shocked I had anything negative to say, they were staring at me disappointed I even said anything, it wasn’t until later someone apologized for our experience. We’ve dined in many great restaurants all around the Caribbean, nothing like this experience. I’d say skip Spice and go to Rhodes. Our experience at Rhodes was spectacular!

We went here for our last night meal and the food was great. However, it was a buffet which I didn't mind but you are paying an awful lot of money for this. I enjoyed every course and the service was exquisite and made me really want to stay at the hotel. Sadly it's way out of my price range. There was a steel band playing who were great too and everything was unhurried and calm in a very tasteful setting.

We did not stay at the hotel but went for my fiancé's birthday dinner and it could not have gone better. The staff was so accommodating right from the get go, and when most restaurants bring a cake for a birthday this one came paired with a saxophone player playing happy birthday. The video I have of my fiancé when this was taking place is priceless. The Manager there was excellent.

Outstanding food and service. We truly enjoyed a pre fix menu. They made a separate dish for our 5 year old . Waitress was very attentive . Food came out fast . The atmosphere is very quiet . It was one of 2 best meals we had on the island . Would definitely come back .

Good restaurant but not of a gourmet level. Very (too) strong live band, forgotten entremet… All the details that make the difference. The orange soufflé was very good, the rest was OK.

We had dinner there on Saturday for a special occasion. We spent almost two and a half hours over the delightful multi course meal at a table looking out towards the beach as the last of the daylight faded, and a view of the lights of St.George’s after dark. The service was superb - as good as any anywhere in the world, with everyone attentive, friendly, and keen to ensure that we had a great time. And the food was excellent, with each course beautifully prepared and the quantity not too much - but a large meal nevertheless, especially for a tropical environment. This restaurant is not cheap, but we felt the price was good for such quality for a special occasion. We will certainly come back! .

The staff at Oliver's and at Spice Island Beach Resort are the best ... They are the most pleasant, helpful and attentive possible. This is totally atypical for resort staff on Grenada. We have stayed at all of the resorts and Spice Island Beach Resort is the best ... It far exceeds Sandals even ... Do not bother even considering anywhere else. In the restaurant the food is great and the service is perfect. We made reservations in the restaurant and they called back to find out if we were coming for a special occasion and anything else they could prepare in advance. Even the doorman knew are names and was expecting us when we arrived. He personally took us to the restaurant. The wait staff made sure that everything was perfect throughout our entire stay. They should be the model for wait staff everywhere in the world ... and especially on Grenada. The only other place (and there are only two) with staff like at Spice Island Beach is at Coyaba Beach Resort, which is close by. The restaurant setting a few meters from the ocean waves is totally relaxing. By the way, the pool at Spice Island Beach Resort is outstanding as well. In a scale of 1 to 5, Oliver's is a 6.

We had a wonderful evening at Oliver's to celebrate our wedding anniversary last night. Excellent service- above and beyond without feeling over bearing. The property is very regal, and the elegance overflows into every aspect of the experience. We had the prefix 5 course dinner and were delighted by each course- perfectly portioned with balanced flavors - all of which are rooted in the local produce. The menu is very minimal (without much description) so you must trust the chef to deliver and for us it was wonderfully crafted. The best part of the evening was that they surprised us with a beautiful personalized chocolate cake for our anniversary. It was insanely good- layered with decadence and made with local organic chocolate. They gave us the option to take it home with us and still have the desserts we ordered- what a lovely touch this was- I enjoyed every aspect of the experience- expect nothing but the best from Spice Island:)

Spice Island Beach Resort and Oliver's are upscale. The location on the beach is lovely. The entrance through the lobby and into the open air patio lounge, and the adjoining restaurant space, is dramatic and showcases the location. It sets the tone for a fine dining experience. Make sure you've looked at their dress code and leave your flippers at home. We chose an early 7pm seating since we were two families with two ten year old kids. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The space is gorgeous and we soaked it in for a few minutes with drinks while they prepared our table. The menu was small but full of variety and looked like it probably changes with some regularity. I had a seafood bisque, sea bass, and a trio of white chocolate. Our meal opened with an amuse-bouche of a square of cool cheesecake with a splash of pumpkin puree. The cheesecake was light and delicate, but the pumpkin needed some spice (as in, Spice Island) to make it pop. The bisque was rich in flavor, but not heavy in texture and was very smooth. I like a good seafood bisque and will always start with that when I see it on a menu. This version was almost too strong and slightly salty for my taste. My entree of sea bass with crispy skin did in fact have crispy skin. The fish was cooked perfectly and the portion a nice size. I'd say that overall, the dish needed some acid to add a bright note. It was good, but not outstanding. See the theme? Well I am not one to go for white chocolate since I am usually disappointed and left kicking myself. I was curious to see how this trio would come off. I couldn't imagine a white chocolate sorbet really working, and I was immediately proven wrong! There was a mousse that was probably, and oddly, the highlight of my meal. It was soooo good. The third item escapes me as I write this some 10 days after the fact, but I do recall that dessert was on point since I'm not traditionally a dessert person. Service was flawless throughout the evening. I have nothing more to say since it was just that: flawless. I'd definitely give Oliver's another try. I have high expectations for a meal like this one and it didn't deliver on every level. The flavors were close on some and spot on with others, but that inconsistency is not a "5" for me. Go try it and see for yourselves because it was a lovely evening.

Waited over 1.5 hours for breakfast. The restaurant. has a lovely view of the beach but was not crowded. We ordered regular breakfast items e.g. Pancakes, potatoes etc.,and NO alcoholic beverages but the wait was ridiculous. The staff did keep coming by and apologizing for the delay and attempted to say that the delay was because everyone arrived at once -which wasn't true and as I mentioned, it was not busy. The bill for 5 people was over $200 US!!! very disappointed in the wait and the price. Seriously , how much does pancake batter cost????
