Stayed at the Naseby Lodge and both nights dined at 2000ft restaurant.

5 star food and you can taste the quality in the ingredients too.

Will definitely come back to stay at the Naseby Lodge, dine at 2000ft restaurant and stay longer than two nights.
Oh my gosh the fireplace as well in the restaurant is awesome too.

A good place to eat dinner and refuel after a long day riding on the OCRT. Servings are generous and the quality is very good. Highly recommended.

The food was good with generous servings, but the service disappointed us. We had pre-ordered our meals as recommended by the restaurant (due to our late session of Curling), however we couldn’t get a drink on arrival and it was 30minutes before our meals came out. Our order for drinks was taken after that!

Another stop on our rail trail journey. We were pre booked in for dinner as part of our Rail Trail journey. Our booking was quite late as we had curling booked. We chose our meals before we left for curling so they could be prepared as soon as we got back. Finished curling early, so owners came and picked us up. We went straight to the restaurant and had our meal served very quickly. Lovely big fireplace in the restaurant for those cold winter evenings. Meal was beautiful along with a nice local red wine.

Lovely atmosphere friendly stuff and delicious food.
I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant and a bonus it has lovely comfortable accommodation. A superb package.

Friendly staff excellent food. It was really just a nice place to be. My only complaint was the chicken was dry but lucky for me I didn't have it any partner did. If you want something with a bit more variety try here...menu not huge but different and that's what I liked....wasn't expensive either

We had a nice meal after a day of cycling and curling. Limited menu but was all good. Lamb carpaccio very good and the pork belly was very well liked. Small wine list but not overpriced. To be recommended after a drink at the Ancient Briton.

Visited as part of the Otago Rail Trail, the food was fantastic, lamb shanks, steak and a stuffed chicken dish were all delicious. The Banoffee pie was really yummy too. Great smiley service and very clean facilities, highly recommend :)

A hugely under-rated restaurant. The service was amazing and with great food to compliment it and a cozy wood fire. With all this, what more could you ask for?

Recently my husband and two young boys stayed at the Naseby Lodge while completing the Otago Rail Trail. The 2000ft Restaurant was absolutely ideal for dinner and breakfast while we were there. The restaurant was literally 15 minutes from our room, dinner was lovely, there were toys and colouring in for the children and we were able to stop midway dinner and put the boys to bed and then go back and order dessert which we took to our room. Breakfast we were also able to take to our room for the morning for our ease with the boys.

Tonight for the second time we have visited 2000 ft restaurant at Naseby Lodge..while staying at 32 Derwent.. a wonderful holiday home with all the comforts.....the meal as last time was absolutely beautiful..so many flavours..from the beautiful garlic bread starter..the succulent steaks..the childs meal lamb shank gobbled by the child..choc pud and banofee pie..we have never tasted better anywhere...well done..

Dinner was amazing and we were looking forward to continental breakfast. Tinned fruit, instant coffee, cheap bread and yogurt left us very disappointed. Lift your game! Your dinner was fabulous so what happened?

Thank you for your feed back. I'm sorry you felt that way about your complimentary breakfast. I would like to assure you that the fruit certainly was not tinned as I hand cut the fresh fruit myself daily(it is not even mixed with fruit from a tin) so I'm not quite sure what made you think it was.
As for the quality bakers, molenberg bread and fresh n fruity yogurt what can I say except your are welcome to your opinion! Perhaps if you had asked our staff a breakfast I'm sure she would have happily made you a plunger of coffee.
I hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip.

We came in here late after a curling session that went on a bit longer. The host and staff were very accommodating and it was only us (6 of us) in the restaurant. The service, food, wine was great. Much better than we expected.
