We happened upon this treasure by chance and after a quick look at the menu asked if they were still open for a lte lunch at around 2.30, they said sure very happliy and instantly made us feel welcome. Their french inspired menu is to die for, so hard to choose. The Crab souffle out did itself in every way, I think the nicest souffle we've ever eaten, looking forward to coming back soon and often. Thanks team for the fabulous food and lovely warm helpful service.

As a visitor anywhere, it is sometimes hard to find a good place. On our recent visit to the Sunshine Coast, we ate at some absolutely poor places in Buderim and in Sunshine Beach, so bad that I will not even review them. But a local clothing retailer in Noosa did tell us that we should drive the 20 - 25 minutes journey to Peregian Beach, just to go to Periwinkle. The guy was spot on.
A classic-style French menu, nothing special decor, but well-positioned, this place did have a great menu.
I opted for the crab souffle and the the duck. I did not really like the duck, but otherwise the evening was great. We enjoyed our meals overall, accompanied by a nice glass of French wine, very large portions, and great vegetarian sides.

I was celebrating a birthday and couldn't get a booking on the first day that Queensland opened restaurants to 10 people. I was doubtful that this 5 star restaurant could pivot to a delivery option. But it was fantastic!! The tarte flambe with salmon and sour creme, steak frites (medium rare) and barramundi with vegetables and frites, sourdough bread, green salad - wonderful!! Everything - plates, cutlery, linen napkins, salt and pepper grinders, even hand sanitisizer and a complimentary bottle of procecco. Then they came and picked up all the plates etc. It was a wonderful day, first day we have been able to have 5 people over. I can highly recommend this, and will be using it again. And again. And again.

Very disappointing.
1. Starters were nice, crab soufflé, veal in tuna sauce and scallops.
2. Mains were very ordinary. Barramundi meunière came with frozen veggies and cold tomatoes, not hot as promised. Steak with frites and green salad came as over-salted beef, far too many very garlicky COLD chips and the pork belly had soggy crackling.
3. Only sweet we had was profiteroles, too much ice cream and tough pastry
4. We sat all evening looking at a small vase containing dirty water and a cheap plastic”flower”
5. A very small table for the four of us, not enough room for our main course, drinks and water
6. A small restaurant, too noisy.
We will not be back. So much better available around Noosa

Periwinkle 25/9/20
Our first lunch at Periwinkle was very pleasant. Sunny spring weather made the setting attractive.
The wine chosen by our host was an Alsace Pinot Noir, Famille Hugel, which was an excellent accompaniment to our meals.
I wanted a light meal and chose the Antipasto. This was actually quite substantial, with an interesting mix of tastes and flavours. Others chose Crab Souffle, another light meal, and Blu Eyed Trevalla, a main course. Both were pleasant eating , with the emphasis of the French base apparent. We finished with Creme Brulee and in my case Petit Fours with coffee. All very pleasant indeed.
Peregian’s attractions are not a secret, and parking is tight near to the shops and restaurants close to the surf club at peak times. None the less it is a classy location, with gems like Periwinkle in the centre of acivity.

For a small town, Peregian has lots of choices for cafe/restaurants, and Sunday brunch is incredibly popular.
We walked by Periwinkle and decided to get takeaway coffee before walking along the beach, and booked a table for brunch on our return.
My potato rosti with salmon and poached eggs hit the spot, eggs cooked to perfection, and with the crunch of the potato too I had picked a winner. Husband also pleased with his bacon and eggs.
Wait staff were very and efficient.
I’ve had better coffee but had an enjoyable meal.

Almost anyone can cook an excellent steak, the difference here is the sauce. It’s to-die-for, what the French are famous for. Everything exceeded expectations: service, atmosphere, value and of course the food — fresh, flavoursome and fabulous. This little restaurant does a roaring trade, the day we were there they had three sittings for lunch: 11am, 12.30 and 2pm. Don’t even think about turning up without a booking, there was a queue of hopefuls waiting and waiting!
Thank you for a truly memorable experience.

We had dinner here on a Monday night arriving at 5:45 and were lucky to get the last table. Everything was perfect. The wait staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The matre d’ was French so I wonder if perhaps the owner? When they noticed I was a little cool they brought one of the outdoor heaters closer which was just right. Limited menu but everything cooked to perfection. I had the duck and my husband had the lamb. We stole a little off each other’s plates because they were so beautifully presented and enticing. There was a large bed of greens for my duck, and I’m normally not too fussed on beans but however they cooked them was irresistible and I cleaned up the whole plate. Even though perfectly satisfied we gave in to temptation and ordered dessert. What a treat! I had the crepe suzette and he had affogato. Somehow, we finished the lot. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We visited Periwinkle Restaurant for dinner with friends who chose it as they could take their dog. We were seated outside in a green area which is surrounded by restaurants The menu was small but it was still difficult to make a choice as all the dishes sounded delicious. I finally chose the lamb rump as did one of our friends. My husband had the duck and our other friend had the barramundi. All the dishes were superb. The lamb rump was cooked to perfection and almost melted in your mouth. It was accompanied with hummus and freekah mixed with roasted vegetables and a salsa verde on top. It looked as good as it tasted. Our friend was delighted with his barramundi as he said it definitely had the unique taste which sometimes is lost if it is not cooked correctly. My husband’s duck was slightly pink which is exactly as he likes it. We had a range of wines by the glass including a wonderful Italian Prosecco, a delicate French Rose and a South Australian Chardonnay. Only two of us had desserts - a Creme Brûlée which our friend raved about and my husband’s Black Forest was served in a parfait glass and looked as well as tasted amazing. Service especially by the male waiter was exceptional. He was attentive without being intrusive and also recommended the Rose when I couldn’t decide which wine to have with the rump. A truly memorable dining experience which we hope to replicate when in the area in future. Highly recommend.

We came across this restaurant while holidaying from Brisbane. Needed somewhere to take my husband for his 50th birthday. I booked for 7 people after reading some reviews. Well we were not disappointed this is definitely a restaurant we would return to over & over again. I would drive the 2 hours to eat here again. Our experience from the moment we sat down was welcoming, attentive & engaging you were never waiting to get drinks or trying to get someone’s attention to take your orders, the front of house staff were amazing. As for the back of house staff we were sat near the kitchen as it was a rainy night.,you would never know they were there, they were extremely efficient at what they do, each plate of food hit the table perfectly cooked. This restaurant knows exactly what they are doing & do it so well. I can highly recommend best experience.

My partner and I have eaten at Periwinkle on many occasions and aways found the food great and the service reasonable.
Today was not one of our best visits.
Cool day so food lost its heat very quickly. My wife had one of their French Tarte's which as usually delicious, but as the tart was served on a board and not a warm platter, it quickly lost heat and became a cold offering not very pleasant to the taste.
I had their cheese souffle which my wife has praise highly in the past, only to find they had changed the manner of cooking and serving by removing the ramiken and serving without the deliciously hot sauce underneath, and with just a smear of sauce over top. Once cool ( very quickly) it was unappetising and stolid without the hot sauce.
My wife adores their Crepe Suzettes in orange sauce and once again ventured with this dessert, only to discover that the crepe was premade and very tough?rubbery. No doubt was kept in fridge and just reheated.
I had their sorbet and lychees which was yummy, but also ordered a coffee to have with my dessert, which never arrived.
So as you can imagine not the relaxing and enjoyable lunch we were both looking forward to.

Popped in here for breakfast while travelling through Peregian. Had the omelet and my partner had the French pizza style tart with fried eggs. Both were excellent and the coffee superb. We watched others receive the avocado and poached eggs and salmon Rossi with eggs. Both looked amazing and want to come back to try those.
Highly recommend. Sadly breakfast is only offered weekends.

Found this unremarkable, from the setting, restaurant. A birthday dinner celebration during a long weekend retreat at Perigian Beach, near Noosa, Queensland. Our second night looking for something a bit better for dining. A French leaning style brassiere with linen napkins - always a good sign. The menu is good, small but exquisite however, if you really want to try entree’, main and a dessert do not eat all day before you go. Servings are certainly not tiny. Bijou but very well organised with smart, polite and helpful staff. An adequate wine list with an excellent Australian Shiraz and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Crab bisque with soufflé and Prawn Risotto to start and Steak frites and Braised Steak, main. No room for dessert. The chef is intent on perfection. Be prepared to wait. Excellent value for money! You MUST reserve a table, to be sure of the experience. It’s the best Perigian Beach has to offer and you have to try it.

Arrived on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was packed, the staff busy and with a great vibe. Our waiter was so good and we had soon ordered our food and drinks came quickly. There was no French champagne to start but the prosecco was good. We did not have long waits for service and the food was the best. The Alsace dish that featured smoked salmon was delicious and the scallops my wife ate were plump and delicious. However the mains were spectacular. The duck breast was cooked perfectly and presentation eye catching. The pork belly stuffed with prunes was given a thumbs up too. We found the wine list quite extensive and the Massala pinot noir a perfect match with the food. We will definately return.

Very disappointing experience, poor values for money, poorly designed dishes, poor in flavour. If you are after a culinary adventure, don’t eat there. My $45 steak was served with a heap of chips stuck together and four leaves of lettuce. „Green salad with herbs” was really not a green salad but six leaves of lettuce with five pieces of walnuts sprinkled with some white sauce - how poor imagination it takes to design a side dish like this... Overcooked pasta, tasteless tomato sauce. Low energy from the waiter, no smile, as if he just got out of bed. The two stars are for the lamb risotto and the duck leg which was cooked nicely (only the duck meat because the complementing potato gratin and two pieces of baby broccoli was underwhelming). Everything else was mediocre, extremely ordinary, an average pub level at high end restaurant price. We dined at the Pitchfork the night before and it was a different world, worth every penny.
