This is such a beautiful pub, definitely worth the trip! The food was amazing and the staff really friendly. I can’t remember names but a young blonde girl who recommended the pie was lovely! Also the lady in the blue top was nice and chatty....We definitely would return based on this visit!More

Have visited twice in three weeks and will definitely visit again. On-line booking very easy. Food, service and staff all excellent. The Goshawk is in a beautiful location close to Delamere Forest with a train station opposite from Chester-Manchester-Chester. Well worth a visit. Good value...for money and lots of different rooms including a very nice outdoor space making an excellent atmosphere. Looking forward to winter when they light the big log fire! Would highly recommend.More

Trying to find a midway meeting point between Manchester and Shropshire for a long overdue post lockdown catch-up with old friends. They suggested the Goshawk, they had visited before. How glad we are that they did. Once we left the motorway the drive was beautiful...through the Cheshire countryside (the glorious weather was a bonus). We sat on the terrace overlooking a bowling green. The young man who waited on us was extremely helpful and informative. The food was delicious and beautifully presented - my sea bass with gazpacho dressing was to die for. One of our party had sandwiches and mentioned that the bread was a little bit dry, which resulted in him being provided with a complimentary dessert. Our bill for 4 people came to £72 - extremely good value for the quality of the food and including beers and coffees. Well worth a drive out to this lovely pub. We will be back.More

The food was very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff was very accommodating by our last minute decision to bring our dog. She is a big dog which can put people off. However this was not the case for this...pub/restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble. Even Our waitress Annie forgot she was there. Thank you for making our evening relaxing and enjoyable.More

My family and I recently celebrated a significant birthday or 2 for the 3rd time in 4yrs at the Goshawk. We chose it this time on the basis of how well it had served us (a party of 20 people previously, 15 this time) on...the previous occasions. This experienced did not disappoint, in fact the food couldn't have been tastier and the service couldn't have been slicker, more efficent or served with a bigger smile. Thank you to Neil and the team - I'll ensire I receommend you to all my friends!More

First, the staff were excellent. Good greeting and helpful - our main waitress was the lovely Annie. Always there to attend but not intrusive. The starters were fine but I felt a little let down by the mains. The lamb shank was tasty but a...little overdone and my haddock risotto, again tasty enough, was a little stodgy/ overdone. Other mains around me looked fine and were devoured with no comments heard from the diners. My mark would have been higher had the mains been slightly better. Overall an extensive menu, good atmosphere and excellent service. I will visit again.More
