This is THE place for a gastronomic authentic Indian meal. The Aloo Gobi was the best I have ever eaten. Chef Ravi obviously cooks with love and passion, it was lovely to personally thank him.
Easy parking, level access and a spacious restaurant makes this a great choice for those with limited mobility. Hospitality plus. Thank you for a fabulous meal and experience.

We decided to go to Chilli Masala to celebrate my birthday after hearing a number of positive recommendations. We were first in the restaurant for 5.50pm on a Saturday. Once the rest of our group arrived, the service was great. They played happy birthday over the speaker system (we had taken in a birthday cake), which was a lovely surprise. The meals were a good size and very tasty - two of us had Dosa Masala which I would recommend. When we went to pay the bill, they gave us some candied fennel free of charge as it was my birthday. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had. I typically order the same dishes but asked the server to help me try new things. I was treated like family and the dishes kept coming! Even a few on the house. I’ll absolutely go back. What a great time.

we were here with family and friends. We always visit this restaurant as we love their food and people who knows us personally now. we were all maharastrians and this guy came to our table with a smile(forgot his name with glasses and tika on the forehead from the counter) and he played marathi songs in the whole restaurant there were not many in the restaurant but few non indian customers. nobody complained but we enjoyed our marathi songs while having dinner. when we asked him upon why he is playing such songs he said for you guys and we would like you guys to enjoy. They wouldnt have done it better and we enjoyed our dinner thoroughly. I worked in the hospitality industry for more than 10 years and no one played marathi songs in any indian restaurant ,i mean why would anyone play but these guys. Most indian restaurants play hindi songs, Love you guys. good tasty food and great hospitality.

Went with a group of friends and ordered a vegetarian dinner. Had an enjoyable evening. Good food and friendly staff. The chilli masala special was delicious as well as the aloo paratha. A big thank you to staff Manjunath and Moksha for their excellent service. I went to this restaurant a couple of years ago as well and great to see that they have continued to provide the same quality of food and service .

Unfortunately Chili Masala seem to be very much focused on profit maximation when it comes to Vegetatian dishes.
22$ for a Vegetable Korma which I had last week for lunch was quite watery and disappointing.
Other places does Korma for 17$ and much better quality. Best is a place in Petone specialising in Vegetarian food.
Even a fish or chicken dish in other places would cost around the same price.
I would definitely not get Vegetarian dishes from Chili Masala

My first time here with some family who had heard good things about Chilli Masala.
I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of choices from the menu. Lots of curries, rice dishes, dosa, and other side dishes. We ordered a bunch of different dishes. Mostly Northern Indian dishes but some other types too.
They do a lunch special for a lot of the dishes, which means smaller portions for smaller cost. This was great for trying a number of different dishes.
The food was really nice. Curries and biryani came with good portions of meat. The sauces were nice. I particularly liked the rasam, a kind of tamarind soup. Also, the lollipop chicken was amazing.
I would visit again.

Been here for a sit down meal and very impressed with the quality. The staff have a tendency to be surly and I suspect they may be on some sort of commission basis.
Never mind the food was excellent.
SO i visit Lower Hutt again and this time order a prawn dish Take away unlike when eating in earlier when the prawn count was appropriate I had FIVE prawns in my takeaway curry These guys just don't understand GOODWILL
Wont be going back! Man you don't need arrogance and agro when you want to eat.Not good for digestion!

Excellent food as always. Great to have a place where the standards are maintained. We ask for some of our dishes to be made strictly gluten free- safe for coeliacs. They do their best, and we have never had a problem. They are happy to have a discussion, and bring our gluten containing foods separately to be placed in different corners of the table. They do their best to avoid cross contamination which is very reassuring for us.

We were a large group that went for a meal on Wednesday night. The food was all bought out at the same time and was amazing. The service was wonderful.
Go here and you willnot be dissapointed the food tasted so good and everyone went away happy

Super yummy and reasonably priced meal with friendly service. Good selection of vegan and vegetarian food. We dropped in for a late dinner and were in a bit of a hurry and they were really accommodating, exceeding our expectations. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a few dishes today my favourate was the lamb chop tandoor .. it was a pure delicacy, Me and my friend enjoyed it and that was just the beginning after the curries and Naan were excellent.. we had the chicken bhuna and paneer lababdaar. I must say both were delicious and generous portions .. hands down the best and my favourate Indian restaurant in NZ.

Instead of my usual way of dining, was forced to pick up instead due to COVID-19 but ordered food anyways. Tried the Chicken Biryani and Chicken Tikka Masala both were spicy and very tasty. Well done Chilli Masala!

I’ve eaten here or takeaways over 50 times, I think I got sick from here once, but it’s worth it. The meal we had least night was out of this world. I think they might be the best Indian in the greater Wellington area. I recommend this restaurant.i

Me and my husband went to this place because one of my friend recommended. I have to say the food was very tasty. Loved Indian tea. It was like home made, not too sweet and not too strong. My husband loved the chicken reshmi kebab. We also had garlic naan, lachha paratha and dhaniya Murg. Amit was very friendly and recommended us for spice level too.
