Nice restaurant located on the slopes of the path that leads to Rocca Calascio. We had their bruschettas (both with sausage and mixed) which were really good, and their mixed grilled lamb: perfectly cooked meat and delicious flavour. A small point less for the grilled vegetables paid 5 euros (but they were 4 in number) and for the rather long wait, but it was still worth it. Advised!

Great lunch spot down the hill from Rocca Calascio

This was a perfect spot for pranzo...either before or after you wander up to the castle atop the hill. Comfortable, cozy, and friendly service. Food was great traditional abruzzese....the Arrosticini were the standouts, but everything was very good. The owners were very helpful and knowledgable with suggesting the right Cerasuolo D'abruzzo to accompany our lunch. A nice place. Would return.

Guests of the Diamante building in Calascio, we went to dine at Clara's where we found an excellent welcome, really above average customer care and high quality products. The pasta is hand-pulled by Susanna's mother who manages the structure and is accompanied by simple but high quality sauces. Among all stands out the amatriciana that is of sure excellence, so much so that I then returned to lunch to, how to say, taste it properly. Super recommended!

I was "Da Clara" together with my wife and my son during a weekend last December with an overnight stay in this splendid town. We did an encore: lunch and dinner. I'll start by saying that booking is advisable. Kindness and courtesy, as well as good food, distinguish this place. For lunch: lentil soup, potato gnocchi, ricotta ravioli. As a side dish, baked potatoes, sweets and coffee as well as drinks (even 1/2 liter of wine) For dinner: mixed roast, sausages, kebabs, side salad, homemade desserts, coffee as well as drinks. We really had a great time...a peaceful and not noisy environment. A guarantee... a certainty for our future returns to Calascio.

We stumbled upon this restaurant almost by chance on our way back from a visit to Rocca Calascio, we were advised by the excellent reviews which were not disproved, the lentil soup and the grilled sausage were excellent. I would define the dessert as excellent: orange-flavoured ricotta cream, an absolute must-try. Average bill, friendly and nice staff. We will return if we are in the area again.

We had lunch on Saturday 12th and had a great time. I took 3 first courses: tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and truffle and ravioli, one with butter and sage and with sauce, 10 kebabs and 2 tiramisu and a basic ricotta cream with caramel. All very good. Nice place, clean and very kind. Highly recommended 🙂

We booked almost by chance and were really satisfied, both with the food and with the wine list which sponsors many Abruzzo producers! First class and delicious desserts! 2 First courses with: ravioli with Calascio ricotta, gnocchi with saffron zucchini speck and cream. 2 seconds of course the famous roasts. Sweet: Pistachio and tiramisu ricotta mousse. All homemade. Dishes nothing short of delicious. Excellent reception. Stunning view.

We went today for lunch...on our way back from visiting the Rocca. There were 15 of us... we had a really good time... Excellent food... from the ravioli with ricotta, AMAZING, to the grilled meat... finishing with the ricotta cream... SPECTACULAR!!! The guys were incredibly kind... even with my dog... Highly recommended!!!

I went to this restaurant with friends and I must say that I was quite disappointed. Inedible roasts probably defrosted and then cooked. Uncooked grilled sausages. I don't recommend it. The only positive note is the very beautiful location and the polite staff.

I booked a table for 8 for lunch following the visit to the fortress. The day before on the phone for the reservation they were very helpful and the day we went, despite the delay on the time, they didn't cause me any problems. Lunch was good, We had appetizers, first courses and kebabs. The choice of wines is limited, but those they have are excellent. Very correct price Highly recommended

Booked a table for four for lunch with friends. First they ignored our booking, so we had to wait when we arrived. Then more waiting when we sat down. We ordered 40 min later, and waited another 30 min for our starters. Meanwhile people who came much later were being served before. No explanation given. No glasses brought for the wine. No oil or salt for the bread. My tomato with oil was good. Flavourful and juicy. The antipasti were good too though not too generous. The lentil soup was bad, way too salty and I could only eat half. The pasta with mushroom was good and fettuccine were homemade. One of us took arrosticini and liked them. There were many - he took half of them home. Green salad was an uninspired pile of iceberg. Coffee was just ok. Service was really terrible. No crostata or limoncello offered like 10 years ago. Although except for the soup the food was fine, overall very disappointing and I would never come back.

A taste of Abruzzo before visiting the castle

Da Clara is located along the road going up to the Rocca Calascio castle. A sign outside reads that the restaurant offers typical Abruzzese cuisine, and they lived up to their offer! The service was fast and friendly. We first received delicious fresh bread - soft and moist on the inside with a crunchy crust - accompanied by a homemade cheese spread. For our meal for two, we took a lentil soup (amazing), fettuccine ai funghi (even better), a serving of arrosticini (typical of Abruzzo, they were absolutely divine - succulent and salty), half a liter of the house red (a montepulciano d'abruzzo) and the vegetables of the season (roasted bell pepper in oil). We were very, very happy with our meal and would recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting Rocca Calascio.
