Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our plan was to get dinner than walk shop and then eat supper. Found this place and decided it will be our start point for the night.
While looking at the order form (tick the items we wanted to try), we also looked at around at what other locals ordered and took reference from there. In the end we ordered some traditional braised pork rice (卤肉éĄ), pork rib bee hoon, pork rib noodles. Hard boil eggs with soft yokes, vegetables, eggplants.
The service is friendly and fast. Simple set up and food is good. Wide variety of noodle dishes. It's popular with locals and known to visitors. We met a group of Caucasian there too.

After settling down at our Hualien hotel, we wandered around and noted this noodle shop. We went 1 floor up as the ground floor was full. Steep stairs - so be careful. Food is good. Lots of varieties and taste is above average. Good price so good value for money. Yes, good service but pay before you eat.

Lai Chen is a well-known food store in Hualien. It is conveniently located in downtown area. the most recomended small dish is their famous hard-boiled eggs. They are really good , noodles are also tasty.
