Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The queue was very very long, so we bought some from the next door Baozi shop, Zhou Jia Baozi while we were waiting in the queue. Comparing those two, I prefer Zhou Jia Baozi personally. The filling of Gongzheng Baozi seems sweeter (Taiwan dishes tends to have sugar in their cooking) and more fatty.

Highly recommended by a friend of my wife. We ordered 3 pork buns to go, after a short wait.
Piping hot, fresh out of the bamboo steamer, the buns are pretty good. The dough was chewy and the pork filling though did not quite fill out the bun, was fragrant and savory.
Sure I would eat it again if I am around the neighbourhood, but definitely not something I would drive across Taiwan for.

I was at FAIR BAOZI SHOP on a Friday after scool with my friend to eat dinner , the store is at the corner of Zhongshan road. It's Xiaolongbao only costs five dollars,so eat ten Xiaolongbao be dinner will be full. Its Xiaolongbao is very juicy and high quality. The staff manner is very friendly. It only opens at dinner,I think it tastes better when it's hot, I will be back.

The baozi sanctuary moved to a new store due to leasing issues. Parking will not be easy, so you should prepare to walk some distance.

We were a family of six and it took only 5 minutes for us to get a table despite how busy the place is! The buns were big and delicious and the dumplings were even better! However we were misled by the term xiaolongbao - we thought they'd serve soup dumplings but turn out these were big baozi! The soup was a let down tough:(

These are the most delicious bao buns I have had and so cheap - the garlic sauce is also a must try! Luckily one of the staff spoke good english so helped me with my order, 10 dumplings (this is the minimum order) and 2 bao buns which totalled about 50 NTD! I even returned the same night for dinner I loved it that much!

a favourite of many bloggers and since we only had 1 day in Hualien, we just had to get our hands on them. pay attention and don’t be misled by the stacked up furniture near the entrance of the alley, thinking it’s closed for business. look a little further in and you’ll see the bright lights, enough steam for a facial and bikes and people waiting to get their hands on these baos. these hot steaming baos may have a thicker skin than what we are used to but it’s pillowy soft and the filling was seasoned just right. @ nt5/bao you can have as many as you like. same goes for the steamed dumplings; the cabbage ones we had were nicely wrapped in a thin and chewy skin served hot and steaming. crowd started gathering as we were finishing our meal at 8.30am. note that the menu is all in chinese with little pictures to show and vendors speak mostly chinese.

Best bite of food you’ll get in hualien, and it’s crazy cheap too. Kind of embarrassing, but I basically walked up and told the lady up front ‘I am so sorry, I am foreign and I do not know what to order’ and she said she’d take care of it and to sit down. We got their most famous dishes - a plate of their baos and a basket of their steamed dumplings - and I could cry it was that good. Simple, no frills dining, and some of the best food you’re going to get. Juicy, and packed full of flavor.

Very popular dumplings place. We had a portion of 10 - delicious. And you cannot beat the price - TWD 50 for ten baozi is a steal. It was the best price/quality ratio of any meal we had in Taiwan.

Make the right choice , dumpling soup is ideal on cold weather ! The soy milk is excellent and it compliments well with dumpling soup.

Stumbled across this place when I was cold, wet and starving. I inhaled the first basket and piggishly ordered another, washed down with a beer. Yum!

My mom and I are both not too fond of pork, but the buns and gyoza here bought us over. Every bun is filled with awesome soup and fragrant meat, you just can't stop eating!

We had the Bao for breakfast, although the shop itself is open 24/7, them being the best ones in town. What is a Bao? It's a round smooth and soft bun, inside filled with hot steamy fillings of pork. The texture of the bun is a lot different than wanton or dumpling famous in western countries. At 5 NTD its probably the cheapest snack available.
