Had a great lunch at The boat shed cafe. It’s a bit out of the way but was so busy we couldn’t get a table outside- still had a good table by the window. Family of 4, two had a very good plum and beetroot...salad, 9 year old had a ham and cheese toasty (loaded with had and plenty of cheese) and was full afterwards. I had a fabulous seafood chowder topped with salmon - the other 3 kept having some too it was so good. We caught the water taxi from Queenstown centre to Bayview Park, 45 -50 minute walk to the Hilton where we stopped for a drink and morning tea, then another 40-45 minute walk to the Boat shed Cafe for lunch. We were planning to do the return water taxi ride back to town but decided to bus instead (bus stop just up from the cafe and water taxi just down from the cafe) as we were between water taxi arrival times. Makes for a good day out - about 6.5km walk. Could have finished off with the remaining 5 km walk to town if you had the energy. (You can also make it shorter and water taxi / bus from multiple places).More

A unique building with a great outlook and good coffee along with great service. We enjoyed the room showing all the boats in miniature that had plied the waters of the lake over time. We liked the place so much that my wife left her jersey...there and on my return the next morning they went out back and returned same to me. We were very grateful for its return.More

Went back gor our second visit as we enjoyed it very much last time we were in Queenstown. Felt a little rushed by staff this time, despite the fact it was starting to empty out. The French toast was amazing as ever, but the Eggs...Benedict with twice cooked pork belly was a let down - the 'pork belly' was simply a piece of bacon and not even crispy at that. Would go again but would choose a different second item from the menu. It's worth going for the lakeside location alone.More

While staying at Driftaway Camp we came upon the Boatshed on our bike ride. I love my coffee as it was so good we went back on 2 occasions and the scones were large and fresh 👏🏻

I don’t usually write any reviews, but the Boatshed is so lovely. Great spot, fabulous coffee and the best salad I have had for ages! Thank you!

We found this wee gem via Trip Advisor and we’re delighted with the entire experience. The staff genuinely cared about making sure we had an exceptional visit. The food was outstanding. We were here for breakfast and the menu was a nice variation on the...standard breakfast options at most eateries. And then there was the view to top it all off! A delightful start to our day.More

Good food, had a bad taste in my mouth from the parking so I've dropped this review to a one star. Been coming here for years. QLDC saw fit to issue us a ticket for parking in their new designated boat ramp park (despite it...being bad weather with no boaties on that day). I hope the cafe can let QLDC know how this affects their customers. Hardly anywhere to park legally anymore (think there are 3 parks).More

Excellent service, seated us straight away. Coffees came fast and then food about 10 mins later which was great. Nice atmosphere, staff are friendly and talked with our two year old son. Food was amazing, had the burger and chips. Wedges were very unique and...could be the best wedges I've ever had. Salmon eggs bene hit the spot too.More
