Fantastic Italian Restaurant

While visiting Hervey Bay, a local suggested we dine at Santinis. We experienced great service, beautiful, piping hot pasta, amazing pizzas, all at very reasonable prices. It was so good we booked an extra day so we could revisit. Same wonderful service again. Thoroughly recommend.

If you like good past and awsome deserts this is for you

This place is ALWAYS busy so pays to book ahead if you can. Great pasta choices and the deserts are amazing. The Restraunt is attached to the gelato and desert shop so u can choose from the desert menue or slip next door to choose something different and then go back to table to order it The choice is yours.

Lovely staff welcomed us. A small pizza that was as authentic as those we loved in Italy was followed by superb cannolini for me, which is so hard to find done well and pasta for my wife. I had eaten 80% of my dish when the pepper grinder broke and dumped half a cup of peppercorns on my plate. The chef herself rushed out to our table and insisted on cooking another main course. Great food and really attentive service is a surprising combination, especially when it’s so moderately priced. We returned the next morning to sample the beautiful cakes from Santini’s bakery next door. Equally fantastic.

Yuck!

Bought take away last night, paid $60 for two pastas and one garlic bread and waited 40 mins for it. Thought to myself you can’t put a price on food Italian. Got home first pasta dish specified hot chilli, not chilli at all and tasted bland. Second pasta was a risotto, it tasted like old fungus feet. I threw it in the bin immmediately and ate 2 minutes noddles for dinner. I will never be going there again.

Tasty Italian food at a great restaurant with street parking. Best to book as it does get busy. We had to wait 20 minutes for our order to be taken. The pizza menu is extensive and there are 3 sizes. We had a small pizza as an entree. The crust was good and the filling exactly as ordered. We then had pasta dishes one with duck and the other with crab. We had the main meal size which was large. The pasta was a little too cooked on both dishes. The crab sauce was delicious and plentiful and the duck sauce okay. We had a piece of pear and chocolate cake $11 with ice cream of $5 which is an expensive dessert. The cake was yummy. The restaurant is byo and the $2 corkage is reasonable.

Have dined here in this authentic Italian restaurant many times and it never disappoints. Chose a window table for a change however there were two large noisy groups behind us which made for little conversation so without hesitation upon request the waitress happily moved us to a booth table in the quieter section. Once seated the restaurant manager also came to check if all was ok, this is what I call great service. Food was to die for as always. I had Pesto Chicken entree ( which I noticed and mentioned I saw online but wasn’t on the menu) not a problem to make it for me. It was enough to share for two of us it was so good. Hubby enjoyed his pizza “The Lot” and I had the Lasagne. I managed to fit in a dessert barely.. Pannacotta and mixed berries it was so smooth and delicious. Service, food and ambience all excellent. Has to be by far Hervey Bay’s best restaurant our favourite.

This is a lovely ambient restaurant along the Esplanade in Torquay. We had a really enjoyable dinner there - good pizza, good pasta and nice salad. The staff were friendly and the prices were reasonable. If you go on the weekend, you need to make a booking - we saw diners without bookings being turned away.

Authentic Italian at its finest

What an absolute beautiful little Italian restaurant! My partner and I dined here on our weekend away and it lived up to all the expectations I had for it. Both the pizza and pasta dishes were ordered were freshly made and full of flavour. Portions sizes were generous and the prices were more than reasonable. Definitely worth visiting if you’re after good Italian.

Make sure you book. The restaurant obeys the Covid spacing very precisely, so their seating is limited. The menu is varied and has some dishes that sound delightful. We had the prawn and bacon fettucini with hot chilli - delicious and NOT too hot, just a pleasant buzz ... and the Sicilian style Barramundi which was amazing! We also had the triangles of anchovy and parsley as an appetiser. Wine by the glass was reasonably priced and, overall, our evening out cost under $60

Great service, fabulous food

We ate here over a weekend break as an adult family of 4. We had starters, to share, wine and deserts with our main meals and it came in at just under $160.00. The Lasagne my husband ate was delicious he said and my bolognaise was also really tasty, pasta cooked perfectly. The pizza out son and daughter in law ordered was also really very good. Service was good and polite. Unlike our experience the previous night which made us feel like we were being done a favour. Would recommend this place and will return

We visited here with high expectations. Having eaten at another Italian venue in Hervey Bay, we were looking to forward to sampling some meat dishes which we had previously seen on the online menu. Unfortunately our disappointing experience started when we were greeted at the door by a tall steak of misery who basically didn't even welcome us to the venue. We were asked to sit in a room that lacked any ambience what so ever. Black & white prints of old time Italy doesn't cut it in a room that contained zero warmth. We ordered drinks and a garlic bread was ordered which was delivered cold in a tacky red plastic basket. As we had sampled pizza and pasta at another Italian venue, we ordered the duck and the venison. Both were disappointing, being smothered in their respective sauces. Their was nothing about these dishes that would make you think they were Italian. If anything it was glorified RSL/pub fare. The wine was nice and the waitress was pleasant. If you are going to offer Italian food apart from pizza and pasta, perhaps the cook/owners need to see what other restaurants are offering; travel to Brisbane and see what Eterna or Tartufo are offering. The review may sound harsh but this was far from desirable. Sorry but your game needs to be lifted.

Great food and service

We recently ate dinner here while on a family vacation. Sarah was our waitress and could not have been more accommodating and attentive. We found the food to be fabulous and while the restaurant was busy, the meals came out quickly and were very generous and everyone enjoyed their meal. Desserts were delicious and the children 4 and 5 , both finished their spaghetti bolognaise.. highly recommend this restaurant .

Could not fault our dining experience

Five of us dined here the other night. We had not been here for many months. I could not fault our experience - our waitress Monica looked after us so well - a definite asset to the business. Food was delicious, water was cold (so unusual) and replaced without asking. We shared dishes and our only criticism was we did not like the tomato sauce on the cannelloni. The small service items were not overlooked - eg would we like fresh plates for our main course? Well done Santini.

We ate at this restaurant last Wednesday night. The service was outstanding, however we both should have ordered differently. My husband had venison which was not as he remembered venison and I had duck which was nice but just a little disappointing. The prices were very reasonable. For our dipping bread, 2 meals and a 1.5ltr carafe of house wine the bill was $81. The wine was delicious. We would definitely eat at this restaurant again but would order something different. The restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday.

The meal was far from average. A generous serve however very bland. We had a meat pizza and gamberi fettuccine. First time that we’ve not finished a meal. I cannot recommend this restaurant for any meal and feel we’ve wasted $50!
