Don't be put off by the "Takeaway" sign, this has a lovely eat in area that is your typical Chinese restaurant vibe. We had some beef meal with chilli and the fried squid and they were lovely. We visited twice and enjoyed each and every meal This first night Spring Rolls, Satay Squid, Black Pepper Honey Beef, Lemon Chicken and a Duck dish. The...next Beef in Black Bean, Garlic Chicken, Salt and Pepper Prawns, Black Pepper Honey Beef and Chicken Fried Rice. Both times with drinks for 4 cost around 10000vt. Our waiter Pete, a Vanuatu speaking Chinese was quite a character. Apparently Xie has returned home. It is just next to the Espiritu Hotel and must be good as it has a lot of Chinese Shopkeepers eating there.More
We dined here twice during our stay on Santo and loved our meals. Xia is a gorgeous hostess who looked after us so well, suggesting dishes for us to enjoy. She practiced her English and we practiced our Mandarin in conversation while we waited for...our meals. Her husband, who she fondly refers to as "Master Cook" produced some great food for us. We enjoyed the following: Ginger Beef, Chinese Veggies in garlic, Mushrooms with Veggies, Whole Steamed Fish with Ginger & Shallot, Spicy Pork, Deep Fried Spicy Prawns. Generous portions and truly delicious Chinese food. Ask for it spicy, just like Sichuan cuisine is supposed to taste - fiery! Had two meals here not because it is good but because it is next to our hotel. Food is nothing fantastic but service is good. We had fried rice for lunch and stir fried beef with vegetable for dinner with two portions for rice, both...times the food was enough for two person.More
We read the reviews but as usual went in open minded and empty bellied and absolutely did not regret it. Service is prompt although language was an issue and required some patience but the food was full of flavor and all incredibly fresh. The crispy...squid was world class. Serves are generous so be careful when ordering.More
The food was quite good and was served with enthusiasm but the quantities were a bit variable. Perhaps we ordered wrong but we ended up with mountains of some items and not enough of others. Some of the food was a bit too oily.
Nice little restaurant for late lunch. Clean, value for money only problem was their language they didn’t understand English very well
We ordered some dishes for takeaway; coconut crab with spicy salt, sweet and sour prawns, dumplings, spring rolls and chicken fried rice. We felt the dishes would taste much better if it has more flavours on it - then again everyone has a different taste...bud. The servings however is quite generous and the lady owner is very helpful and nice. We were recommended by the locals and was told Si Chuan Restaurant & Takeaway is reasonably priced compare to others. We will try some other dishes when we are in Santo again next time.More

Average Chines fare in Luganville. Extensive menu, somewhat let down by what I guess is variability and availability of produce. We had honey fried chicken-generous serve of well battered and cooked chicken, but miserly with the honey sauce. This was accompanied by seafood in black-bean...sauce-just OK in most respects. Reasonable selection of cold beer. Looked to be popular with expat Chinese workers, so it may be better for them. Overall, worth a visit if for no other reason to say that youve eaten at the 'best Chinese in Luganville'.More
