Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First time stopping in Athol. Proved to be a good place for a quick lunch with friendly service. Small but sufficient cabinet and blackboard options.

We stopped here on the way to Te Anau, glad we did. We both ordered the Big Breakfast and OMG it was so good and $18 was excellent value. Coffee was great too.

There were lots of people in here eating brunch when we stopped to get ice cream. I saw that they have the hokey pokey flavor that I read everyone should try while in New Zealand - and I did. It is very sweet and I...liked it.More

Stopped at The Hide Cafe while road tripping around south island. The staff were amazing. They were super friendly. I had the best hot chocolate there. The portions are huge. So not only was there a delicious breakfast but didn't feel hungry after. Highly recommended!!!!

We stopped over when driving to Queenstown. The coffee is okay as well as the muffin. You have to be patient before being served.

Called in for lunch and on specials notice board at door entrance was listed seafood chowder soup and bread. We ordered and as there was not many other customers we waited 10 minutes and enquired how long our our order would be and was told its...coming? After another 15 minutes wait I enquired again to be told there cook phoned in sick and they were managing as best as they could. With only soup to dish up and if we had been told at time of placing order that they had no cook we would have gone some other place even next door. They offered our money back which we accepted and left. Very unorganisedMore
