Had twice nice lunch in September after of 2,5 years not visiting area due to covid. Nice surprise with the upgrade with interesting new menu.
Since this is not anymore the old fashion Greek tavern with the usual classical recipes (but excellent prepared from the staff), it might be difficult for families with small children to enjoy. Instead of that the children might enjoy the huge, fresh and very tasty fruit salat on the pool bar or some tost. At the very end, children would like to swim and play and not be there for the food.
It is obvious that the management is seeking to win a new group of customers and not offer any more the same concept as a huge number of other shops in the area.
I respect that and wish full success.
We had also a nice discussion with the chef and we agreed for the project of next season: ugraded plate of the Cretan recipe cok with spagetti.

Wonderful Cuisine with traditional Cretan flavors perfectly teased and perfectly combined. For The menu is edited by a well-known chef. Enjoy your food in a unique picturesque place with a view and on the sea. The prices are very reasonable.
Service amazing and fast I'm coming! Every year at least 2 times from Heraklion.

We ate twice in this restaurant, the view is just perfect ! The personal is very very kind and make our dinner more incredible. I test pasta with tomato and the “Pastitio”, it was delicious !! I sincerely recommend. Thanks for everything.

As part of our accommodation we booked one meal at a taverna, it was a lovely evening which we spent enjoying the beautiful sea views, sitting comfortably and sipping drinks.

We went there twice. The first time we enjoy sea food, the spaghetti with shrimps could be better but the seafood "saganaki" was excellent. The service from Mrs. Jenny was excellent! Unfortunately the second time the service was really bad (we should seat at Jenny's area in order to be happy again with our service). The food this time was really nice except from the chicken souvlaki. If they do some small changes will be perfect but anyway I will go again.

Meal mediterian, fresh and tasty. Grill chef is famous. Jedlo je stredomorske, velmi chutne a cerstve. Gril sef vynikajuci.

Really enjoyed our first meal after our arrival here - first a delicious G&T at the pool bar - then in for dinner.
Portions huge so be careful. Many dishes are enough for two. Moussaka and Greek salad for example.
Husband loved his grilled lamb chops - my moussaka was tasty but too much ‘bechamel’ on top IMHO!
Recommend also the 2015 Touplo Red wine made by monks in Sitia - apparently.

As we were staying in the Apothikes nearby, we visited this tavern three times.
We enjoyed our first two visits – stuffed vine leaves, baked cheese, grilled prawns and moussaka.
We were joined by a hungry cheeky kitten. We arrived early on our first day as we were tired and had very good service. The local wine was good too.
I decided to have the moussaka on our last visit but found it was made from mainly potatoes with virtually no aubergine to be found. Disappointing.
I do like the little ‘dessert’ brought to the table when the bill has been requested – it varied from carrot cake to fresh fruit – very tasty.
There are tables around the edge of the tavern that look out onto the beach and sea. Lovely sitting there as the sun sets.

After a fail attempt of swimming in the sea (cause of too windy weather), we proceeded to the restaurant of Kakkos Bay to explore it's cuisine!! I surely say, that everything was well made, with focusing on flavour details. I recommend this area for swimming and eating. There was a variety in salads and starters, and really fresh fish in the menu. Even though it may seem usual greek, it isn't, cause only a few, focus so much on selling quality greek food, and here is a place, you ll find quality in tasting greek food.

We waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for the order to arrive. The waiters were avoiding us. The same happened to other customers as well.

Stumbled into Kakkos Bay Taverna after a long day at a nearby beach which did not have drinks. Kakkos bay has two Bars, one with Euro Techno Pop, the other by the pool, abandoned by the youthful guests and populated by middle age folks such as ourselves.
Barman came out to our table wearing ugly suspenders and we thought God help us. I ordered a Bloody Mary, my wife a Margarita, and our daughters a Virgin Mojito, and Strawberry Daiquiri.
We waited a long while, and just as we were about to give up out came the drinks.
One word.
STUNNING!
BEST Mix drinks I have ever tasted, and believe me I am a Professional with some 40 years experience. Daughters and wife in awe... sun slowly going down turning the sea into a spectacle of Green colors and J.J. Cale playing on the bar radio??
We remained quiet for over 1 hour, sipping on these magnificent drinks and pondering how silly we were to judge the barman at first site. We left and congratulated the barman who handed to us the bill. 18 Euros ...
Enough said

P.S. we were on a liquid diet so we cannot say about the kitchen, however judging from the aroma we can safely assume that the food is spectacular as well.

Dishes are typical greek and of very good taste. The resort is very nice, next to the sea. Once you finish lunch/dinner you can have a drink at the pool bar next to the restaurant and enjoy the beautiful view.
