Amazing host and amazing place!

We arrived quite late at night and searched for water to buy; we landed in this beautiful looking, blue and white traditional Greek taverna, where we were welcomed by host Dimitris, who was at that time dilligently cleaning the place, watering the plants and preparing for the next day; he gave us cold bottles of fresh water for free and made us feel very welcome. We spent the next few days dining there, and everything from breakfast to desserts was amazing! Traditional Greek cuisine, beautiful beach with free parasoles and deck chairs, some of the best food we've tasted during our stay. Great staff - very friendly, kind people. You can tell that they are not just in it for the money, they genuinely care about the customers and how they feel when they visit.

The Ultimate Seaside Taverna

This was our third visit to the area in the last twenty years, and Psaropoula was the reason we chose to go this year. It lived up to our greatest expectations. Dimitris is the friendliest and most discreet host, his staff extremely efficient, the place spic and span. We ate there every day for the week we stayed in the area and everything was exquisitely cooked and the prices unbeatable. And on top of that, one the most idyllic locations in the Mediterranean!

Friendly Taverna

Lovely restaurant with friendly efficient service. We ate here three times during our stay and thoroughly enjoyed everything we were served, which was fresh and well cooked. We hope to be back next year.

Nice restaurant

We have visited twice during our week long stay in koutsounari. Nice friendly restaurant in a good setting. I can recommend everything we have had especially grilled octopus, fried little fishes, chips, salad and the courgette balls which were more like a fritters and Huge!! House wine and beer good all at a very reasonable price. Some things on the menu were frozen which is a shame but it is October so very late season. Give it a try!

Amazing experience in Crete

We were a group of 14 (5 adults and 9 children) and this is reason why is very difficult to find a table in restaurant. The host was very helpful and had a good ideas how to realize our visit. Moreover our little friend had 7th birthday! It was very nice celebration. I think that most of hosts in Czech should learn how to be an unforgettable restaurant with nice staff and owner personally! We will not forget. Thank you for your experience in Crete.

Lovely beach taverna

We visited for lunch and had a lovely meal. We particularly enjoyed the house fries, delicious! We had sardines which were yummy, omelette with local greens, tzaziki and tarama, zucchini flowers. They even offered us some sweets from a local patisserie that the staff was having when we went to pay. Beautiful settings.

Fabulous Greek Taverna!

We were staying next door to this restaurant and we were glad to see it open up so we could try it (we holidayed April). We ate there 3 times and every time was lovely! All of the food was fresh and there was lots of it. The views of the coastline and mountains made it more magical and the staff were absolutely brilliant! Well worth a try!

Greek food done very very well

Most restaurants in Crete offer a similar menu. During our trip Psaropoulo stood out as the restaurant that did these local dishes the best. We ate there three times and had different food every day. All the dishes were good. The fish was cooked to perfection with a nice char on the outside. The meat dishes (we had the kleftiko lamb dish and the giouvetski with beef) were both very rich in flavour and also cooked very well. The portions were royal and the prices fair. As in most cretan restaurants the dishes do not have many sides included, so ordering a salad on the side is recomended. Sadly during our stay they did not have the snails, but that gives us a reason to return another time :)

Nice greek place by the Beach

Very Cozy place with good service and nice greek food. Try the eggplant with feta and the feta with pastry and honey. They also have sunbeds free of charge during the day. Nice place.

Very good restaurant

Just in front of the beach with beautiful terrasse. The boss and the personnel are perfect. We have eaten two times and each time it was excellent. Seafoods are the best from our point of view. I think it is better to book especially in July/August because even during COVID-19 period it was almost full

Excellent food, great service

I just saw someone asking about restaurants near to Makry Gialos and it reminded me that I had'nt written a review. of Psarapoula. I came here first in 2021 and again last year. Once once each time, but the owner recognised me and welcomed me back. And the food and service are really good, not to mention the location on the beach and the free sunbeds. I can specially recommend the bougiourdi and the grilled octopus. See you again this year!

Fabulous taverna, highly recommend

A fabulous taverna right on the beach. Friendly and professional staff, great menu and lovely location. We stayed at the Hotel Coriva Beach next door and then ate at the taverna most days.

Amazing beach and tasty homemade food

Great choice of seafood, fish and other varieties of Greek food. Very friendly, cosy atmosphere. Food was fantastic, fresh and tasty. Reasonable prices. Located by the beautiful beach with clean and refreshing water. Not crowded at all.

Warm and welcoming hospitality

A very warm welcome from the start, all staff friendly and accommodating, even suggested authentic greek food which was great especially for us as some are gluten free. Have re booked to go back for last evening of holiday it was that good and atmosphere was great.
