Το γευστικό ταξίδι του Πέλαγος ξεκίνησε το 1981, όταν άνοιξε για πρώτη φορά τις πόρτες του ως παραδοσιακό εστιατόριο για τους επισκέπτες που αναζητούσαν αυθεντικές κρητικές γεύσεις δίπλα στη θάλασσα. Αγαπημένο από ντόπιους και επισκέπτες για τα παραδοσιακά πιάτα του και την ευχάριστη ατμόσφαιρά του, σύντομα έγινε ένας γαστρονομικό προορισμός στην παραλία Κουτσουνάρι. Το 2015 η γραφική ταβέρνα εξελίχθηκε σε ένα εκλεπτυσμένο εστιατόριο που παρέμεινε πιστό στον αυθεντικό του χαρακτήρα, ενώ παράλληλα ενσωμάτωσε μια πιο φρέσκια και εφευρετική προσέγγιση τόσο στην τοπική όσο και στη μεσογειακή κουζίνα και έλαβε πολλά βραβεία για το φαγητό του. Cretan cuisine at its best

This was one of the best restaurants we visited, not only in Lasithi but generally in Crete. Great seafood, innovative tastes, good wine list and location is litterally on the beach. It's not cheap, but considering the quality we found it reasonably priced - there are many more expensive restaurants in Crete with considerably lower quality.

Creative flavors with traditional touch. Salads were memorable and I would go back just for these. Fish was exceptional in preparation and taste, simple but perfect. Stuffed Calamari was very interesting. Pasta with mushrooms was tasty and Orzotto was a little overwhelming with cheese but still good. Lime tart is highly recommended. Beautiful setting and efficient service.

Lovely seaside restaurant

We visited for lunch and had the bread selection, zucchini flowers (those were exceptional), cattlefish with red wine reduction and cherry tomatoes salad. An espresso and a bottle of water. Everything was yummy and well presented. We were offered dessert on the house. All for 35 euros. Not bad at all. Nice service too and of course amazing views and location!

Food great. Service awful.

The food is very nice. But that doesn’t make up for the terrible service and treatment from staff. After our food came out all at separate times and one plate 25 minutes later than any other we were made to feel stupid and spoken to terribly by rude staff. Ignored often and even at the end shouted out. I would recommend to come here unless they sort out the way they treat customers.

We have eaten at the restaurant three times,first as a couple, then with friends. The menu is very promising but the food is totally underwhelming, tasteless and underseasoned. I mean ALL food we have ordered at the restaurant. I also noticed a very bad use of aromatic herbs, with loads of them over many dishes, covering all other tastes. A calamari we ordered was well cooked but chock-full of spring onion and dill, with an extra sour sauce that made it inedible. The buffalo burgers we ordered had a very strange smell about them, the smell of bad quality meat actually, with pieces of fat and cartilage of some kind in the minced meat. Potato chips dripping in oil and cold. Pasta with pollen and grouper reheated, with a stale taste and dry, totally dry fish .Really hot there in the summermonths as well, heat is almost intolerable. The good thing about the place is the beautiful beach with sunbeds (if you're into that) and the crystal clear waters. There is also a very trendy vibe, with well-groomed families and groups on te beach. Desserts were also tasty. If you are really into food and are looking for a true gastronomic experience, better to avoid.

Let's start from the nice part.. the location is great and the atmosphere very nice indeed. The service is very kind also! BUT... The food doesn't match the prices. Half of the dishes were really flat and without taste (ceviche and salad) and the others were ok but nothing that will make you come back to the place again. They were very kind to offer us some treats due to our disappointment though! Unfortunately, it's very sad to write something like that, because we went with the best of expectations, and we were very disappointed. We hope that it's gonna be better in the future!

Great location, great service but overpiced and pretentious with good, but not great food!

The location and the beach is really nice, the restaurant vibe was a bit too formal and pretentious for our liking, but if you are searching for something 'trendy' close to Koutsounari, it's nice I guess. The food is good, but not great, and certainly overpriced for what it offers. Fish and pasta is a lot better than meat. The Black angus that we ordered was not tender and not nicely cooked. I would not recomment it as a choice. Starters were really good and there is a decent selection of wines to choose from.

Great atmosphere, good food, disappointing service

The atmosphere is relaxing and the restaurant is neat. The chairs are not particularly comfy. There is a good choice of dishes and they are well presented. IMO the food was worth no more than 4* because a number of our dishes lacked in flavour (especially the meat). We were disappointed by the service though. Probably because of the late dinner (21:45 start) we were served by 3 different people and they didn't seem happy to be there. Once I mentioned to one of them that my son's meat was cold he "explained" to me that it was to he expected since he ordered it medium-rear. Around 11pm there was only one waiter serving 10 tables and after waiting 15 minutes for the dessert menu, he told us what the dessert of the day was and we initially ordered 2 of it. Given he was waiter number 3, I don't believe the information that my other son is allergic to hazelnut was passed on to him. We were lucky to check one more time, avoided a potential big problem, asked for the bill and left. We probably experienced an off evening and I believe this restaurant and its staff do on average much better than tonight.

Gourmet restaurant with pleasant setting

Nice structure in front of the beach with excellent service and wifi. All dishes are quite refined and a gourmet version of Greek classics. I had the dakos and the seabass. Pricier than average but for a good reason.

Great place, perfect view, delicious flavors and excellent service. Really romantic for couples especially at golden hour! Me and my husband tasted fine and delicate plates. I highly recommend it!

One of the nicest restaurants!

I know that restaurant for 4 years, and every years it’s better than before. It's one of the nicest restaurants I’ve ever been. with the best food I've ever tasted. You should try the chicken and ask for the desserts too! The stuff is really nice, and ready to help you with everything you need. It's by the sea, nearby Ierapetra and the view is spectacular. Definitely must visit.

Stopped for a lovely breakfast by the sea. Great food, fresh juice and coffee though the highlight was our new friend Maryanne who treated us like family. Thank you for making us feel so welcome! When one of our kids wasn’t feeling well, she cared for us so kindly and helped us. Thank you Maryanne! Our entire family would give this place a great review!

Great place at the beach to have al delicious lunch!

We went here on advice of friends. Because of the lovely weather we could sit on the terrace. Because we could hardly make a choice we were glad with some good advice. We shared some really delicious dishes. All was looking like little pieces of art. We had to drive for more than an hour but that was worth it!

Definitely worth a visit!

Nicely located directly at the beach. The staff (all of them!) was extremely friendly & polite, the dishes very tasty and presented in an eye catching way. A nice dining experience, definitely to be recommended!
