Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our expectations weren’t high for this restaurant inside the hotel Jardin Tecina, especially after some confusion with reception and other staff about where it was actually located! It’s not much to look at, the decor is a bit tired compared with other areas of the hotel. But we were pleasantly surprised by the delicious tasting menu with wine pairings, highlights were the unusual “egg yolk deep fried in bacon” - much better than it sounds - and a delicious piece of octopus served with flaming thyme leaves. The portions of both food and wine were generous and the service was attentive despite dining at the same time as a larger group. The only reason we didn’t return was because there is just one tasting menu which doesn’t change over the week. Highly recommend and found this to be the best value within the hotel’s restaurant options.

What a fabulous meal I have just had the privilege of enjoying. Inspired and original cooking! Service is also expert and friendly and all at a very reasonable price - no more than the perfectly decent but unexceptional other restaurants in Santiago. They also serve a range of excellent wines by the glass. It is definitely "fine dining" but not expensive.

Arrived really late to the hotel so tried this restaurant - firstly the staff were lovely and professional but the food was poor. The cod was overly salted and they served chips which were hard in the middle - pretty simple to cook chips properly. Wine was good - was very disappointing overall.

We had dinner in this restaurant situated in hotel Jardin Tecina. We ordered lamb and it was the best dish we have had in a long time. Also the wine we were recommended was good. The service was personal and pleasant. If you choose this restaurant instead of the busy, noisy and impersonal buffet restaurant, be sure to make a booking beforehand. We highly recommend Tasha Fandango.

We visited this restaurant twice whilst staying at the Jardin Tecina hotel. The food on the taster menu was delicious and the staff were very welcoming and friendly (despite us being the last to leave on one occasion by some margin!). Highly recommended and the best of the restaurants at the hotel despite it not having the sea views of the others.

We ate in all the restaurants in Jardin Tecina - this was the best. We ate here twice. The food, service and atmosphere were all good. The reviews of the restaurants at the hotel vary very considerably- perhaps they have a challenge with consistency. We would eat here again.

We looked forward to a change one evening in the hotel. It certainly was just that. The wine we ordered was not available and we drank an organic wine which was not pleasant. We waited a long time for our meal. The first course was soup with a boiled egg rolling around. We left this. Next was an edible ceviche on top.of potato slices. Followed by a large rubbery octopus tentacle on.mashed potato. We left this too. Salty pink pork. Not for us. Dreadful cake for dessert. Oops We stuck to the main restaurant after this. Being fair. Maybe we were just unfortunate. Others have enjoyed meals there.

We visited this restaurant whilst staying at the Jardin Tecina (see separate report). The restaurant is well appointed with an inside and outside space. The waiter staff was very good on the evening. The meal we chose was the taster menu which was discounted as we were half board at the hotel to 9.90€ each. We received an initial taster of a layer of roasted courgette with cheese and a cherry tomato which was a little weird as the it was stone cold? The cod with boiled potatoes were horrible as the cod tasted out of date and the potatoes were so dry that even adding butter didn't help! The worst thing on the menu was the creme caramel. Expecting a wobbly jelly like custard with caramel sauce it in fact came like a burnt piece of lard and tasted no better. What made the evening worse was the waiters were falling over themselves with a lady and her children or grand children no doubt connected to the owners and then allowed her to smoke. I acknowledge we were in the outside space at least 50% had the screens down and especially in the corner where she sat and thus smoke allowed to spoil other people's environments. As a result of this I complained to reception about the standard of the food and the fact this person was allowed to smoke in what had become an enclosed space - what I got back was a faceless letter back apologising for the quality of the food and smoking issue from Raquel Garcia. I quote from the letter "We know that you were disappointed because other customers smoked on the restaurant terrace, but we cannot totally ban smoking outdoors." Well Raquel I agree you cannot stop people smoking outdoors but you can control what happens in your restaurants affecting other people's enjoyment by not giving people ashtrays and encouraging them to smoke in the space! As to the recipe Raquel if only the dessert looked like the image shown rather than a burnt rectangular block of lard - I suggest you give the recipe to the person who made this tripe ask them to start making it like this and only then can you start waxing lyrical about "Heavens little pigs". Did I try any other a la carte restaurant at this hotel after this did I hell as like! I stuck to the main restaurant which had better quality food, smoke free environment and better service oh yes it was self service 😃

We had a very nice diner here. It's a hotel restaurant, keep that in mind. But we really liked the dishes. Only the dessert for the tapas menu was rubbish. Value for money is really good. Wine is good and not overpriced. It's not the best place in town, but you will certainly not regret the visit.

The best meal we had whilst away and would definitely recommend! Well worth paying for the meals off of the menu and the staff were very good at recommending dishes! The outdoor seating area was lovely.

We expected something more tapas like. This was more of a meal and it was disappointing, the other hotel waiter service restaurants were better. It might just have been an unlucky night but we didn't try it again. Service was good the food OK but not as good as other we had in the hotel.

Best food we had in our weeks stay - so good in fact we went twice. The restaurant offer a set price menu which was not only very good but great value as well. Wine was not overpriced which often happens in hotel restaurants. If you are half or full board in the hotel you have to pay a supplement so it was not too busy and there were no children.

We found this the best of the four restaurants but it does suffer from the same issue, namely, that the quality of ingredients just isn't good enough for a high-end hotel.
