Cafe transformation

During the daytime this is a normal cafe offering sensible snacks and drinks. Come evening it transforms into a very unexpected but very welcome gastronomic establishment. Very sensibly considering its size , the menu is kept down to a reasonable and more than adequate choice. We were very pleasantly surprised on our first visit, the service was first rate and the food simply outstanding and another example of the ever growing foods credentials of this small village. They catered for our Granddaughter 2 year old very well she absolutely loved the burger and wafer thin crisps. Well nothing for it but to stay longer so we can eat in all of the wonderful restaurants to which this one must now be added.

Extraordinary food

I cannot praise this venue highly enough. Everything we ate was exceptional. Were this restaurant in London you would pay twice as much and the portions would be half the size. Our favourites were the croquettes, tempura anchovies and gazpacho. Lovely owners and great atmosphere due to the mix of locals and tourists.

This restaurant apparently changed hands last year and the new owners are trying very hard to creat something a little different to what was there. The menu was not extensive but had some really interesting touches , scrambled eggs with black pudding and dates (it was excellent). Serve local Gomera wines. Great sea food dishes , cod in a Rioja sauce and pork tenderloin with figs. We went on a couple of occasions for dinner and also became our coffee haunt. Do look it up, you will not be disappointed.

Under cooked food

Stored for a bite of lunch as it was raining and it looked busy (possibly due to the rain) Ordered their sourcing burger "hamburguesa los chikos" Arrived in due course.... Tasted not quite right. V the burger (pork) was busy raw! The bacon was also virtually raw Ate the salad part of the burger but we both left the test Waiter did not ask if anything was wrong... We left a tip of €0.05 We won't be returning Several others walked out as the waiter was unwelcoming /rude

Fabulous lunch of small plates

We went for lunch having had a couple of good breakfasts here. We ordered bread and mojo, gazpacho, ham and cheese, roasted veg and salmon tartare on guacamole. All of them were absolutely fabulous, especially the salmon. It’s as good a meal as we have eaten in the village, and we have been coming for 11 years. Can’t recommend it enough

Very good lunch

With the open air seating in the middle of the village it was easy to stop by for a coffee. What others were eating made it a good idea to return for lunch another day - and that proved right. Helpful service got us to a tuna salad that wasn’t on the menu, and it was very good. Good value too.

Lovely lunch. Quiet chill out music, friendly staff. Tuna salad nice and well presented. Fish fillet tasty served with mixed veg and canarian potato's and mojo. Cheep drinks.

Our best lunch on La Gomera

What a fabulous lunch! This is a great little bar and restaurant run by a most affable and charming Italian man. We just wanted a light meal. My husband was thrilled to see a veggie burger on the menu (maybe even vegan), a rarity in La Gomera. Of course he had to have it, and , served with chips, he enjoyed every bite. I couldn’t resist the local grilled cheese served with palm honey and red mojo - so delicious! We saw some enticing looking desserts on display, and tried the raspberry panna cotta which tasted as good as it looked. A good cappuccino completed our meal. Drinking only water, our bill including a tip was EUR29, not too much for an excellent lunch, and excellent service. This is definitely the place to eat at Playa de Santiago.

All very good...

Situated in the small plaza on the promenade amongst a few other restaurants and shops. We had a table in the shade and ate lunch here, our first since arriving in La Gomera and found the service and food very good. A nice atmosphere, friendly staff and a reasonable bill at the end. Would visit again 👍

Great for drinks

My mum and stepdad visited this place multiple times during our weekly visit, and my friend and I visited twice with them. Lovely bar, simple and to the point. Very well priced too.

Superb meal
