Dear Mr Michelin, if by some bizarre reason you should be passing through a small village on an island with a population of 20,000 people, you may find a small restaurant in an old mobile phone shop. In this restaurant you will find the most imaginative menu and presentation of the highest quality. If only it were in larger city then it would gain the reputation it deserves. In the meantime we are treated to under sold meals of the very highest standard, I admire the dedication to serving us tourists and locals to food that we could never afford in the big cities of the world. This is not an overstatement.

We were taken here by family - wonderful food, and each dish was brought out in turn so we could enjoy them individually. Asparagus with ham and the stuffed peppers were really tasty, but the absolute star was the sliced sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and garlic potatoes. Perfectly cooked and excellent quality. Wine was nice too, as was the fresh bread. Would definitely eat here again

Went to this relatively new tapas bar on the recommended of a local resident last year and once again this year we were not disappointed. Other than they no longer serve the gin and tonics with fruit and berries. The dishes were as good as last year and they have kept one or two of the favourites eg beef with Parmesan potatoes and the grilled prawns, but the menu changes with what is available. The restaurant is busy so do book. We were recommended again to have a different tapas for each person. That really is enough for any appetite! Wines all local and very reasonably priced.

We visited tonight with a party of 4 and had a great meal of sharing large tapas plates, including fish with spinach clams and asparagus, a wonderful pork and mango dish , and an excellent white chocolate pudding. The sauces were tasty and all was served with reasonably priced good wines. Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere with good service at a reasonable price. I have been visiting Playa Santiago many times before and this was one of the best meals I have had in the town, and I have had many good fish meals here. It might not be overlooking the sea but definitely worth a visit.

Our 4th. visit to Playa Santiago in the last 15 years or so and the first time we have noticed this restaurant in a street off the front and main square, It looked busy so we decided to give it a try later in the week, and so glad we did. There is an extensive menu and wine list, plus daily specials (I had the duck in raspberry sauce which was my favourite meat dish of the holiday). My wife had a fish soup followed by stuffed peppers, (both tasty and ample). To finish we shared an excellent home-made Hazelnut Tiramisu. E2-50 per glass for excellent glasses of white wine was the icing on the cake. On our next visit to Playa Santiago, this will be our first ,not last, port of call.

Had a meal here with the family one evening just before Christmas. It's a slightly different dining experience than we were used to in that each dish is brought to the table individually, due to their small kitchen and how busy they (deservedly) are. Really enjoyed it as it meant we all shared each dish as it came. Everything we had was very nicely prepared and presented, the staff were efficient and amiable and the restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere. One of the highlights of our trip to La Gomera, although the majority of the food we ate on the island was great to be fair. This restaurant is perhaps slightly more expensive than others nearby but is definitely worth a visit. I would think booking is essential here.

Described as a tapas restaurant, the food here is sublime.Really helpful staff will take you through descriptions of the dishes on offer on the blackboard menu. Not only that, but we were helpfully told when asking, "three dishes is good; four is too many". I went previously and was equally impressed, but to my mind, this is the best restaurant in Playa Santiago.

Another visit to this exquisite small restaurant in the heart of Playa de Santiago. It is extremely popular so it is essential to book as reservations sell out very quickly. Menu is varied, traditional with a tapas twist. Lots of variety with meat and fish dishes which can be eaten individually or can be shared. My wife had the tuna tataki which was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the ribs with BBQ sauce equally delicious. The restaurant also offers a good selection of wines at reasonable prices. Highly recommended

The variety and quality of the dishes here is exceptional, beyond the ambitions of other chefs in the area. Success has come, and with it a change from the extension of the outdoor part of the seating down the street to a new indoor dining space. The snag is that the kitchen is stretched. Quality is as high as before but we experienced delays and didn’t get dishes at the same time as we would have preferred.

Exquisitely presented food with flavours to die for! Dishes are generous tapas style - meant for sharing and come out in stages from the kitchen. Waiter was helpful with guidance and I’m sure they will outgrow their premises soon! Booking is essential.

An attractive looking restaurant, which we have passed many times, however we were more than disappointed that we chose this restaurant for our special birthday celebration. We ordered the Tuna and Sirloin. Both were undercooked and when we drew attention to this the waitress brought a blow torch! Unfortunately we had to leave the sirloin as it was too tough and the tuna was seared and not cooked at all. The staff were not interested when we told them the steak was tough and not interested at all in us as customers. Very expensive and poor food.

We enjoyed our meal, but I would really review between a 3 and 4, as it was just good, but very good value. We had 3 dishes, the garlic prawns, stuffed mushrooms and squid on black rice. They were all very tasty but were nothing like the pictures, especially the squid. I would also recommend asking to sit in the main restaurant when you book, as we were in a part of the restaurant down the road which was very functional and soul less. So just good this time, perhaps a different chef?

Recommended by a local tour guide and it did not disappoint. We were told the meat in particular was excellent and this was certainly the case. Our first visit was on spec, and we ate in the annexe, however the food was delicious and artistically presented. We made a reservation for a few days later, requesting to be in the main restuarant, and were warmly greeted. The food on the second visit was delicious and in particular the beef loin with parmesand potatoes was a firm favourite. Highly recommend the Tiramasu too.

Now that we are sadly back home, I feel I can now write another review. How on earth can this restaurant improve from our last visit in the Autumn. Well, add lots of new dishes and maintain the best front of house service on the island. Booking essential several days in advance and by sharing dishes you will get to sample a different menu every day for at least 2 weeks. The reduction in covers has not affected anything other than the need to book. This place is exceptional and I really hope they do not work themselves too hard, we really want to come back many more times.

My wife and I have been coming to Playa de Santiago for some years now but only recently, when reviewing Trip Adviser did we come across this gem of a restaurant. It is hidden away along one of the side streets of the town therefore not as visible as those restaurants along the seafront. There is a good and varied menu and the presentation and quality is superb. We particularly enjoyed the tempua prawns, the tataki tuna on guacamole and the loin of beef with parmesan potatoes. The restaurant has a good wine list and the prices are very reasonable. Very highly recommended but you need to book as it is very popular.
