Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Only place open that day and we decided to give it a try - if you compare with „la Chalana“ 50 meters across the street - its a no go - Tuna cooked to death - instead of Papas we got french fries - got 5 after asking - Mojo is a positive remark and really good - ordered water took about half an hour - prices too high - this place is forgetting to make simple food an experience like so many other places on La Gomera

We had fish goujons, which were amazing and served with chips and a very small side salad. Calamari which was also delicious and served as above.
and then a very unusual 3rd main.... which was meant to be mine, but I couldn’t eat it. Deep fried aubergine in honey.
I’d originally ordered a chicken salad, but the waiter said we had too many salad items if we were sharing so he advised the aubergine!
This was the furthest thing from what I wanted. It came covered thick in a deep batter, with a sickly sweet sauce of burnt honey... it tasted more like a banana fritter from a Chinese takeaway than a Spanish tapas dish......My husband loved it and so ate mine and most of his dish! I ate a small amount of salad from my husbands & daughters plates and had a snack when I got home. As is the way with tapas, the aubergine was served much later than the other 2 dishes, so most of the fish dishes had been eaten by my ravenous family!!!
Not ideal I know, but we’ll know better next time. I would return here again, but stick to what I wanted and ignore the weird recommendations!

We had the tempura and drinks. Very nice and not expensive. It is right on the beach. Easy walk from Santiago or the Jardin Tecina.

Are they interested in customers? Staff barely paused their vigorous conversation to tell us that we would have to wait 10 minutes for the kitchen to open, and it was 20 before we could order, and even then there were dishes on the menu that weren’t available. The food was OK when we got it, but we won’t be returning.

What a difference a few meters make. The other restaurant near by is so much better than this one. The sardines were more cremated than grilled and the lady serving had no personality. Decent chips though.

Ate here for lunch about 5 times during our stay in Playa de Santiago. It had been recommended by our neighbours here at home - "you must have the sardines" they said! We did, more than once, and they were delicious.
Fabulous avocado with prawns (and pineapple but it works) great almograte and excellent mojo sauces. Homemade. Fabulous. All washed down with lovely rose wine or freshly squeezed orange juice.
Highly recommend.

If visiting the Laurel Club pool and want some lunch, then toddle off the 250 metres towards town and it's on your left. Great food and sevice and reasonably priced.

Amazing little daytime only Bar/Restaurant on the beach at Playa de Santiago. Informal, friendly, great food and service - no better place to while away an hour or so gazing out to sea!

Nice bar with good food for decent prices. Do try the tuna or fresh fish. This bar is not open after 18:00 so you have to be on time too visit.

Had a wonderful lunch here recently at Bar Tarajal. This is a great little spot to have a bite to eat, either in the sun or in the shaded areas. The food was great (we had salads and calamari), the beers ice-cold and the service was fantastic - very attentive. I will definitely be back. Thank you!

Only open for lunch. Here you will find good service and a varied menu of good, fresh local dishes. The fried aubergine in tempura batter with palm honey is, as are all the dishes, delicious. It has to be our favourite lunchtime hangout. You can just go for a drink and watch the world go by. Do try it, you will not be disappointed.
