It is a good place with correct staff and good food.
The salad on the Sate could have had some more taste to it, now it tasted plain. The Slibtongetjes and Sate were of excellent taste and quality.

Stopped in for dinner spontaneously.
Very friendly service. Great prepared main dishes from the daily menu, a veal entrecorte was recommended. The sole fried in butter was served with a crisp salad.

and delicious food is offered on the FABELS eten & drinken menu. We only went out on the heated terrace for a warming drink and a small snack... but we were very pleasantly surprised. Attentive and very friendly service and a sandwich (BLT) that I would not have expected.
We would be happy to come back.

Food was lovelessly prepared the spare ribs seemed from a ready-made bag warmed with a dirty fat sauce croaked over it. Things did not listen well and not interested so there was no garlic sauce despite request and no water with the coffee despite request and the coffee was moreover lukewarm. The service was friendly. But what a shame, the quality of the food was very disappointing. The slip tongues were very dry (and I don't just think that, see in another review that someone shared this opinion with me) and that for plus minus 24 euros. I also found the pasta quite dry. Hopefully they can improve this for the future, otherwise cozy tent.

Don't go to the toilet, it used to be super clean with proper towels -
Now it smells bad, the floor is sticky, toilet paper is on the floor and the employee who was in the toilet before me didn't wash his hands.

Nice quaint restaurant; extensive menu which has something for everyone. Even through the place can be crowded one can wait comfortably at either the bar area or outside on the heated terrace where drinks will be served for you.

Quaint cafe/restaurant in the center of Bergen, facing the ‘ruin church’. Menu choices were very good and typical of Dutch lunch items, eg ‘broodje kroket’ with mustard, which was delicious. Relaxed atmosphere, great service. Many locals. Recommends when visiting Bergen. Reasonably priced.

We stoped here in the afternoon just for a coffee and a peace of cake 🍰, and as the “Chipulata cake” was soooo good we decided to come back for diner as well. Fantastic food, great staff, we will be back here for sure.

At Supermarkt Deen we received the tip to dine at Fabels. And wowww what great advice that was. The ambiance the food the service the drinks everything was perfect! Totally recommendable. My husband had the hamburger and I had the slibtongetjes fish and the G&T and tap beer were absolutely on point. Deliciousness all the way. Totally recommend it!
