Delicious breakfast option and open on Sundays

LBV is a fantastic little breakfast place we visited during our Cook Islands trip. It was actually one of the few places opened on Sunday. Prices were fair for what you receive and the food had great flavor – I had the salmon benedict and my wife had a classic breakfast and a nice baked treat afterwards. It will take a while to receive your order as they are made fresh, so plan accordingly. Nice place, busy and always a good sign. The coffee was great, the bakery items (donuts and Chelsea buns were delicious but a bit pricey. the breakfast was underwhelming - details not communicated well when ordered - so was disappointing

We have a great experience at LBV. My husband had the creamy mushrooms and a bacon&egg pie which he enjoyed both and I have a toasted ham&cheese baguette and a cinnamon donut. All good was fresh and delicious - wait time was what I would expect for a busy cafe in the AM Tried to return a second time but was closed. Pays to check opening hours on the island

Chaos in the South Pacific

We’ve been coming to this place for years. After the covid lockdown we came back. Ist time last week it was ok just, slow and disorganised but ok. Second time today…. Stood inline a good 10-15 minutes to order our food, only 3 people in front of me. Place was full of flies. I mean full. Thankfully today they had fly covers on the pastries on the counter. Week before they were uncovered and crawling with flies. I realise new staff and all but seriously? Five people working front of house plus others in the kitchen and I estimate 15-20 tables not not mega busy. It’s not the Savoy it’s just a rustic cafe so I don’t expect Savoy service. To begin with the staff have serious difficulties working the till. Need training. They struggled to understand how to make an iced coffee. Need training. Overall impression of the staff was they didn’t know what they were doing. They definitely didn’t belong in retail and catering. Ordered two lime milkshakes and a ham n cheese baguette. Lime milkshakes were full of shredded blue and white paper, lots of it. The baguettes were already made and in the cabinet, I asked for mine to be toasted, ie placed in the panini maker for 3-5 minutes. 20 minutes later still waiting. The cafe was almost empty. I went to enquire where my Baguette was and was told it’s coming. 15 minutes later we ended up getting up and walking out. For me the hygiene issue of both our shakes been contaminated with bits of paper was a joke. Training or no training everyone knows paper isn’t normally edible and not an ingredient in a lime milkshake. How did it get there? Are the staff blindfolded? May I suggest sack the deadwood Train your staff. If they’re still crap then replace them Reduce the menu options as you cannot operate at 100% and still provide good service with the current staff. Improve the hygiene, it looks like a dirty grubby tip behind the counter. If you can’t offer good service then close the doors and sell up. If this was an establishment that didn’t rely on tourists and catered just for regular local customers you wouldn’t last 3 months.

Best bakery cafe in Raro

Excellent French bakery and cafe in Muri Beach. Our croissants were as French as and the Flourless Pineapple Cake was scrumptious. To top it off the iced almond milk coffees were delicious. Best bakery in Raro.

But still great value and the coffee is bang on. The cooked breakfasts looked awesome, but in the tropics we find it a bit hard to get excited about the big cook up first thing. No worries! Plenty of slices, cakes, muffins, salads on offer.

Simply Perfect!

We're big fans of LBV (in German, the abbreviation stands for Landesamt fuer Besoldung und Versorgung) because the people runing it, are always relaxed, truly friendly, and hugely competent. No matter how long the line of customers, the weather, time of day and probably anything else that would annoy others. Also, the food is so tasty, which can be enjoyed on a veranda facing a lovely garden. We give the LBV our highest recommendation.

We'd been to LBV a number of times over the years for their baked pastries and donuts, however today... They had about 4 donuts sitting on the counter with flies landing over them so decided to give the donut a miss. I had scrambled eggs with bacon and hash browns. Eggs cooked nicely, toast average (thick miltigrain), bacon was well overcooked not pleasant to eat. Partner had avo smash. He enjoyed his meal. Nice poached eggs, tasty avo and sour dough toast. We ordered iced tea and Berry smoothie which came out after we had finished our meal. I personally think it's the wrong way around. Iced tea was literally English breakfast tea bag dipped in cold water with ice. Tasteless and disgusting. I had 2 sips and left the rest. Berry smoothie was nice. I won't be returning!

A lovely cafe in Muri with a great selection of delicious pastries and donuts. They also make a very good flat white that you can enjoy on the outside veranda. There is a play area for kids and a selection of wildlife wandering about. The staff are really nice and it became our regular daily visit

Customer service on point!

As my title says the customer service we received at LBV was on point! They were all so lovely and very helpful :) We had an iced mocha each which was nice for a hot day and also tried one of each flavour donuts which was lemon curd and chocolate. In all honesty the dough was soft but the mock cream I think it was, wasn’t the best and there was a lot of it but not much of the other flavours. Nice little stop and great area at the back if you have kids with you to run around.

first time I've ever had eggs bene served on 1 slice of toast? for $20 you'd think there would be 2 slices. the big breakfast was a letdown, they served a ramekin of chutney which seemed like they put it on there to make the plate look full. food was good, but no bang for our buck. iced chocolate needs a lot of work was nice sitting outside under an umbrella. donuts were beautiful though

We really enjoyed having lunch in the cool shade of the verandah back in early June. The service was quick, even though all tables were full, and the food was tasty. The café was for sale and based on lack of service mentioned in another review, maybe there has been a recent change with the café. Hopefully they can quickly get back to their previous standard.

Good breakfast option

Good strong coffee at the right temperature a good start. Had bacon benedict and aloo palak which was eggs bene with spinach sauteed with onions, garlic cumin and garam masala instead of bacon. Both were well cooked, arrived quickly and eaten just as fast. Worth a stop.

This was the only place we could find in Muri that was open between 10am and 11am (between Pacific Resort and Moana Sands Lagoon Resort, on a weekday). They had live music when we arrived. There are lots of cakes and baked goods available and a small cooked menu. We ordered from the menu and the food was ok, a bit pricey but very filling. They do not have gluten free bread or gluten free options.

Great small-bite brunch spot

This is a great place for breakfast and lunch. The bakery items were the best we found in the Cook Islands. There were many small-bite items which we often prefer to large breakfasts. They even had brioche french toast which was a real treat. I am a coffee snob - their coffee drinks were done very well. The eating area is a large covered porch and tables in the grass overlooking nice greenery.
