We stopped at the Hot Bread Shop Cafe in Opotiki, because we had heard that they make great coffee - this is so true. They were great. Would recommend.

This is a very popular cheap and cheerful cafe. Pleasant staff, good food and very clean toilets. A nice break

The coffee here is reasonable but the food is to die for. We had a very filling omelette and had a blueberry pie as a take away. They bake everything on site and the food cabinet was full and varied.

A good range of food including one of the best blueberry pies I've had at a café. Friendly staff, good location with both covered and uncovered outside areas to eat.

Always a pleasure to stop in here and dine. all was cooked very well and ate outside as it was a beautiful sunny day. had a good chat with a lady at the counter upon leaving asking after the type of bacon used as I...found it very easy to eat. A lot of bacon I find to be very salty and rich with fat but was pleasantly surprised with what they served. this will be tried at home as well.More

If you are in your way to Gisborne at the Opotiki -Gisborne junction turn left at the roundabout rather than right, then you will see this cafe. Off street car parking available, bathrooms. Order at counter. Very tourist focus, BUT they are a bakery first...and cafe second in my estimation. Meaning terrible service and cleanliness but absolutely top of the range meat pies and sausage rolls. The sausage roll is one of the best I have ever eaten in NZ or Australia!!! Stopping here for the sausage roll is worth the visit. Unbelievably good🤗More
